This conversion kit is exactly what the doctor ordered. Installed easily and quickly. The instructions were very easy to follow and once it was installed my Liftmaster 8500 opens and closes my Wayne Dalton OHGD quietly and smoothly! Nathan your product ROCKS! Your American friend Chet.

Thanks to Nathan for the fantastic conversion kit. I recently installed one of Nathan's kits with an 8500 on a double garage door and it works great. I ordered two of Nathan's kits and am planning to install the second one with another 8500 within the next week or so. I highly recommend this conversion kit; the quality of the bearings, sprockets, chain and drive shaft were top notch. Additionally, Nathan was very responsive via e-mail and shipped the kits out very fast. A wonderful solution!

I purchased two kits from Nathan and he does an excellent job with the kits and instructions. I had already replaced the springs in the torquemaster tube and wanted to keep the springs and replace the Idrive system that is obsolete. Garage doors work well with Nathan's conversion kit and Liftmaster 8500 openers.

I guess I should say I have never met Nathan, and this was an unsolicited review of his product. It really works well! If you have a wayne Dalton garage door and want a Liftmaster 8500 opener, this simple kit will make the two products work very nicely together. FIVE STARS!

Just installed two of these kits. The upgraded double pillow block bearing assembly is terrific. Should be listed on Ebay and Amazon with tag "idrive" . Super easy install on Wayne Dalton.

Excellent kit. It has been upgraded with a second bearing carrier. Complete delayed (with pictures) instructions along with the torquemaster oe instructions. About as plug and play as a retrofit can be. Make sure you understand how to de-tension and retension your spring. Unwinding, disassembling, and rewinding are the biggest task. If you're not comfortable doing those steps, get help. I receivedy kit in about 1 week and had it installed in about 40 minutes.

I have worked for Wayne-Dalton (now merged with Overhead Door) since 1995 as a process engineer and now a manufacturing manager. I own two iDrive openers mounted on Torquemaster counterbalance systems and am considering my replacement options now. My case VERY tight headroom (3") and this option may not work, however, I like what you did with the Liftmaster unit. Nice work!

@MidtownDoorsandServices. I Definetly agree with you. Of coarse this kit looks awesome and simple, until the torque-master breaks the next day after installation. Better off with an Amarr or CHI door, better construction, Spring system will literally last you 10 times longer.

@skinnykenny98 Sorry for the delay. I made the pieces that are used to lock onto the torsion tube. I never used the low head room adapter.

why wouldn’t you just convert to torsion springs, seems it would be simpler. more parts, more problems.
