I grew up near old Street. One of the beauties of it is that it's a walk away from Angel Islington. I.e. getting groceries there are a few options such as the co-op, m&s and a couple sainsburies locals. A tesco metro is also a short walk away, so it isn't too bad.

I lived and worked on Old street for about six months in a hotel and a nearby office while working on a software project. I really enjoyed it. It had an energy to it that I'd never experienced for any extended period. There was an excellent Blues bar nearby that had amazing live acts on regularly and in terms of places to eat it was the best place I've ever lived. The people were pretty universally approachable and the transport links for getting home at the weekend were amazing. I'd love to live there. I'd like to keep my bolthole in Scotland though.
