For sure, love this video.... The closer and deeper we get with God the more we want to please Him and you're right, it is just a natural thing that happens but if we don't grow and get deeper with God then our tendency is going to be a leaning toward the flesh... Jesus said the closer we come to him the closer he comes to us type thing... I don't know but all I know is that if the focus is on the right thing which is Jesus Christ then everything else will fall in place. I see preachers, some preachers but all they're doing is just beating up their church, getting them to look at everything they're doing wrong... I'm so curious as to why people love that so much lol but they seem to. Anyway they put the focus on themselves and not Christ and what I have noticed, and I'm not saying this applies to all but in these kind of churches, for example the church one of my family members goes to, it's one of those churches that is constantly critiquing the people and getting them to look at themselves "self self" and everyone that I have personally met from that church (which hasn't been a ton of people but a few several,) they are all drinking once in awhile and I'm not just talking about having 'a' drink, they smoke pot and they use jesus's name as a curse word.. I know in my life, it wasn't until I really got to know God that I could even worship him properly and it wasn't till I got to know God that I began to have victory over certain struggles... Getting to know God is of epic importance, something I wish churches would focus on because that's what turns people around... Knowing Christ... Anyway thanks so much for the video, absolutely loved it😊

I agree with a lot of what you said. It's true when we are focused on what Christ has already provided for us we enable ourselves to rest in what He accomplished and out of a heart of gratitude it becomes easier to overcome the desires of this world (Romans 6:11). This is the only way I've personally found it possible to overcome some issues with my flesh. But I still have more issues which God will either give me the grace to overcome or I will take them to my grave and one day receive my new body with no sin nature. The problem I have is this, we cannot make ourselves completely pure and that is the true context of the whole passage. It's through our hope in Christ that we are *made* pure by Him. In context, the purity being spoken of is complete perfection. I think the truth of the passage is more important than the exhortation to live godly. Both are important, but we shouldn't take scripture out of context to teach godliness. There's other scripture which can be used for that. It is the truth of God's grace that teaches and empowers us to live godly lives (Titus 2:11-12). The passage can be used to teach us as believers to live godly, but the correct context should be used. The truth of this passage is we are made pure through faith, not that we can purify ourselves. We have purified ourselves for all eternity through our "hope" in Christ. That which is "born of God" is born without sin, or the sin nature. This is what John is teaching these believers who had been under the influence of Gnosticism. They were being taught perfection was within their reach. If you just come to this spiritual knowledge, you can through your own effort be pure. John is refuting that doctrine in this chapter, while exhorting believers to continue in the truth, what they had "heard from the beginning". Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 1 Jn. 2:24

Quick question, you said "But I still have more issues which God will either give me the grace to overcome or I will take them to my grave and one day receive my new body with no sin nature." Are you saying sometimes God does not give us the ability to overcome sin? There are things I struggle with every day, so wanted to hear more of your thoughts. I found your comment very helpful and comforting.

@@LookinUp_ Hi! The ability to overcome the flesh is found from the truths of God's word. Paul teaches believers how to overcome the flesh in Romans chapters 6,7,8, and 12. In Ro. 6:11 he teaches believers to "reckon" true all the positional truths he had covered for the believer in the previous verses. To reckon this true to our mortal body is the same as "putting on the new man" (Eph. 4;24). It's to count true everything Paul says is true of our spirit and apply the same to our flesh. The most important thing to reckon as true in my opinion is the fact that we have been delivered from the law (Romans 7:4-6). It is both the most important, but also the hardest thing. Our minds are being renewed, but will never be perfectly renewed until our bodies are "changed" (1 Cor. 15:42-52). To the degree we are successful at renewing our mind in this way (Romans 12), we are given the power to be transformed in this life. Unfortunately this takes a great deal of faith. God gives each believer the "measure of faith" by which we are enabled to serve Him. We cannot possibly serve by the law, only the Spirit (2 Cor. 3). Not all are given the same "office". If we have the desire to serve Him, He will give us the faith to accomplish our service as we "add" to our faith "knowledge" (2 Peter 1:1-9). Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

@@LookinUp_ we receive Christ by grace, through faith. This is the same way we serve Him! Colossians 2 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

@@LookinUp_ we can grow in faith simply by reading His word daily, allowing the Spirit of God to give us understanding (1 John 2:27). As our understanding grows, we grow in faith. Just stay in the New Testament to read things that apply to us (the Church) and not the Old Testament which is mostly to national Israel. I like all the epistles and the gospel of John for the NT believer to grow in grace. Ephesians and Colossians are deep spiritual truths for the believers edification. My understanding has increasingly evolved as I read these epistles over and over a little at the time.

Thank you brother! On another note something you may have addressed. Im seeing more and more preachers on YT requiring folk to be a member in order to get the full experience of their site. I have a number of problems with this and won't go into them here but suffice to say i don't like it ; however, it might be a good approach for a church to use and forgo tithing, just pay a monthly membership, just trying to be light hearted about a serious shortcoming of dollar chasers. I have a hard time with the opening of the video talking about a cosmos and planets, because God told us how he spoke everything into being, and he mentioned land = earth, and other specific things. There were no planets or galaxies, or cosmos. The planets we learned about in schools taught us from a NASA; T-minus, world view, in which all these other planets (wandering stars) named by man, all after greek gods, were envisioned. Television built on that vision. God told us where the land, and waters, and expanses were, and where Heaven is. If you look up you see it the way it was written by God, not the way it was told by men. With that said, I agree, because of what he has done for us, we seek daily the things to remove from our life and things to add that would be pleasing to God, because he loved us first.

Genesis 1:16 says, "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also." If God made the sun, moon and stars, wouldn't it stand to reason that He also made the planets revolving those stars?

@@lawrencehorner8418 Man's reasoning can not add to God's word. Waters, dry land he named earth, expanses, Heaven. Sun, Moon, Stars for light. That is it. He was careful to list it for us. God left nothing out. The Heaven will be depart like a scroll. Men created the rest in their minds.

In 1 John, the apostle starts off by conveying that a Christian's joy may be full (synonymous with "perfect"). People sin because they believe or feel that the reward of a given sin is superior to the reward that can be gained through that righteousness. But if the joys from Gd are clearly superior compared to the lust of the flesh and eyes and pride of life then temptation has no more power. Why sin if you're perfectly fulfilled by perfect joy ? John then says in 1: 5 *"that Gd is light and in Him is NO darkness at ALL"* . In verse 1: 7 John then says *"But if we walk in the light AS he is in the light, -- the bl ood of Js Chr st cleans us from ALL sin"* . Keep in mind that Heb. 9: 14 says Js bl ood purges our conscience from dead WORKS.

@PabloMinstri 15 күн бұрын
In chapter 2 John then says he is attempting to help them not sin. He then says that anyone who doesn't keep Js commandments doesn't know him. He then speaks as if a believer's perfect love is evident by their keeping of Js commandments. Then John again says that anyone who abides in Js ought to behave LIKE Js. Js NEVER sins. John then explains how if a believer has love(perfect love?) then there is ZERO occasion of sin. John then explains to the fathers, y ng men, and l ttle ch ldren that they know Gd, are strong and have overcome the wicked one. My question is, did John mean they perfectly overcame ? John then commands *"Love not the world, ---, for ALL that is in the world"* . If someone has ZERO love for the world then they also have ZERO temptation to sin. John then teaches the offspring of Gd will act Godly and always do good. He even says we can purify ourselves LIKE Js is pure. John then says THREE times that whoever abides in Js or is born of Gd does not sin or can not sin. Several more times John then mentions how Gd's love can be PERFECTED in us. Obviously you remember that love fulfills the law (Rom. 3: 10; Gal. 5: 14). Perfect love cast out all evil desires and personality.

@@PabloMinstri Our inner man (spirit) that is a new creation is what cannot sin. He is not talking about the flesh. When you misunderstand one verse you misunderstand everyone that follows. The one who abides in Jesus is the one WHO BELIEVES and CONFESSES in him not the one who stops sinning. @@E_M_FEN NOBODY believes 1 John is 100% addressed to gnostics. Neither does it's wording fit that paradigm. It sounds like it's addressed to Christians who are being influenced by or have already embraced some very unique form of gnosticism. That teaching allegedly includes the idea that a believer is a spirit and not a body at all. They believed they could sin all they wanted and their body would take all the guilt but their spirit would be sin and guilt free.
@PabloMinstri
@PabloMinstri 15 күн бұрын
@@E_M_FEN Js does not sin and CAN NOT sin. The offspring of Gd CAN NOT sin. If someone sins they have resurrected their old man and re-become them. A believer can switch back and forth between the old and new like a wave of the sea or pair of clothes. So, if a believer is sinning then it's evident that they are the old fleshly man again. That man will never be forgiven or a friend of Gd. If they are the old man AGAIN then it is evident that they must be cleansed from him again. 1 John literally says that anyone who abides in Js will keep his commandments and not sin.
