@@christsavesreadromans1096 Here's the next verse. ''For we are His workmanship created In Christ Jesus FOR good works which He prepared before hand so that we would walk In them.'' Notice It's FOR good works not BY works. Two different things. Also If works save us, then Paul's statement that '' NOT of works least anyone should boast'' would make no sense. It would contradict his last statement. You need to learn how to understand context.

@@mariosangermano It’s clear that Paul meant that the original justification is by grace, through faith, apart from works, but that after being sanctified a believer would be expected to walk in the works which were planned for them in advance; especially considering verses like Matthew 25:31-46, which teaches that all who don’t care for the least are sent into eternal hellfire. Paul still warned that one cannot live according to the flesh or they will die; Rom 8:13 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” That a Christian cannot judge others, or that they will be condemned; Rom 2:1 “Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.” That a Christian who continues in sin will not inherit the kingdom of God Gal 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” And that the only thing that counts is faith working through love; Galatians 5:6 “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.” So don’t paint Paul as a figure who believed in saved by faith alone, when he clearly expressed that repentance is necessary, and that love must come from your faith for it to count for anything. Saved by faith alone, to the exclusion of love or repentance is heresy, and a false gospel.

In this video, Pastor Jesse Martinez says, “There is no set of circumstances where a person is justified, which means declared righteous, in a good standing in court of God. There is no biblical support that that ever comes by your works.” This is flatly false. In James 2:24 says, "You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone." Jesse’s response to this verse was, “That’s justification before men, not before God. You can see this if you start in James 1:1 as opposed to James 2:14.” First, that response doesn’t even make sense, and I hope all of you following him see that. Imagine what that would mean. James would be saying that we are obedient to Christ so that we are found righteous before men. Moreover, what men? Believers? Nonbelievers? This is heresy folks. We are not, in any way, justified or made righteous before men. In fact, the Bible speaks directly against it. In 1 Corinthians 4:1-4, Paul says, “1This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. 2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.” In 1 Thessalonians 2:4, he says, “On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.” In Galatians 1:10 Paul says, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Jesus also spoke this idea of justification or righteousness before men. In Luke 16:15, he says, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.” And, in Luke 6:26, Jesus says, “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.” (see also Matthew 23:5-12) It is impossible to please men and please God (Matthew 6:24). In fact, Jesus says it will be just the opposite. In Matthew 10:22, Jesus tells His disciples, “You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” This applies to all of us. In Matthew 24:9-13, He says, 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Notice that Jesus indicates that we must persevere in order to be saved. Jesse Martinez teaches otherwise.

But, if we take the bait and go back to James 1 in order to provide context for James 2:24, let’s see what we find. The book begins with an encouragement to persevere. There’s nothing here that looks like any description of what might represent justification before men. In verse 12, we read, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” So, only those who stand the test (persevere) will receive the crown of life…because those are who love Christ. I will return to more passages where Jesus and the apostles define the characteristics of those who love Him (see John 14:15-23, 1 John 5:2). But, it’s of no use to Jesse Martinez, because he believes, “A believer can absolutely 100% fall from truth, grace, become apostate and live a sinful, wicked lifestyle. He is still saved because of his initial faith in Christ.” (He said this in our discussion here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pM1kh5mHu9_RmIU.html&lc=Ugw60zewEdxU_JXr1BZ4AaABAg.9guW2JcrAdzA3iYYf1-eJY) This why, in the video above, he also said, “You believe, you receive. You are positionally in Christ and that will never change regardless of how you behave.” Is that true? No. It’s heresy. Hebrews 3:14 says, “14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.” In Hebrews 10:26-27, we see, “26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” 1 John 2:3-6 is definitive on this topic, "3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did." This is not about righteousness before men. This is about whether or not we are in Christ and He is in us. In 1 John 3:4-10, we see another definitive treatment of this: “4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” No one who continues to sin knows Him. If you don’t believe that, you’re led astray (by false teacher like Jess Martinez). The reason is because it is impossible for a genuine believer to go on in sin, because the seed of God (the Holy Spirit) dwells in us. This is why Jesus explicitly says (Matthew 7:16-20), “16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” In John 15, Jesus also says, “5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” IF you remain in Christ, THEN you WILL produce fruit. It’s not optional, because fruit is an outpouring of genuine faith, wherein we have received Christ in our heart, and begin living as a new creation. Jesse tries to say that this is again some kind of judgement before men. But, references to being cut out and burned are identical to other passages where Jesus uses them to indicate damnation (Matthew 3:8-10, Matthew 7:19, Matthew 13:37-42).

@@waynerossiter9962 their argument is they never believed. Which I can accept. Parable of the word. But Jesse takes it to a new level. Not that they aren’t of us. But they are true believers and need no repentance and will enter into heaven as a fornicator and a heretic. Getting close to universalism. He will end up a universalist in 10 years. That’s what the end of his doctrine is. Everybody is saved. Everybody goes to Heaven. My pastor as a kid went that route. Now he has lost his mind. Left Jesus Completely. But listening to Jesse Martinez isntead of Andrew Murray or others like Him who lived a Holy life or just the Bible alone is in itself a curse bc we are trusting in men. Jesse will leave men confused and without Help. He even says deliverance is not of God. We don’t need deliverance. Little does he realize the word salvation also means deliverance from evil Spirits, False teachers are driven by evil spirits. One sign is they are super fat bc they can’t stop eating(not kidding). Not always a rule. But look how fat some of the false teachers get. HUGE!!! And they have a thyroid. And if not food it’s money and things. Nice cars, homes. Etc. Sometimes don’t even have to hear their doctrine.

If you're honestly asking this question, you know very little about Piper or his teachings and refused to pay attention and/or listen, which is unfortunate, and a product of the erroneous teaching of this video here. Piper does not believe in "killing enough sin to get into heaven," whatsoever. His words were taken out of context and shredded semantically. Piper referenced: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing ; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Eph 2:8-9 To answer your question, Piper has assurance of his salvation because he can see the evidence of his faith in his life. That's the point of his message. Knowing, being assured in your faith. He's not talking about works being the means of entry into heaven, but the essential effect/evidence of faith. You cannot know if your faith is real unless it has produced a transformation in your life. James - "Faith without works is dead." You either have faith or you don't, and how can anyone know? A real transformation of your life. You desire to kill sin and to live selflessly and to love your enemies. Essential evidence. Not the means, but the evidence.

God bless you Pastor Martinez for defending the true Gospel! John Piper believes in a type of Calvinism known as "Perfectionism", which teaches that to be saved you must be "perfected" in Christ. How does Perfectionism teach that this occurs? It's a three-step process: - Justification - Freed from the "Penalty" of sin - Sanctification - Freed from the "Power" of sin - Glorification - Freed from the "Presence" of sin In the false gospel of Perfectionism, it's further taught: - Justification, the "first work" is achieved through "faith in Christ alone" - Sanctification, the "second work", is the sinner cooperating with Jesus to gain the mastery over sin - Glorification, the "final work", is the reward given to the believer at Christ second coming, for the results of the first and second work combined In Perfectionism, these "three works" together, that is in aggregate (in other words at the end of the process) equal "salvation" (in quotes because this is a false salvation of a false gospel). This is why Piper can say both "I am justified by faith alone", and "Salvation is not by faith alone", in his false gospel, this is a true statement.

I have had most of my church experiences in an independent fundamental Baptist church (been out of it at least 25yrs now) and recently God has been showing and teaching me things and this is one of them. I’ve been always struggling with my Salvation (trying to work it out with fear and trembling literally) thinking there was something wrong with me and essentially not witnessing because of the confusion. I didn’t realize the slight differences and variations in the teachings that have Calvinism sprinkled in. I’ll be honest, I feel a little- almost scared to come face to face with the possibility that I’ve been learning this wrong my entire adult life! But I do trust God so He will, and is sorting it out for me:)!! Thank you for your videos!

So, how do we make sense of all the passages where Paul says we are saved by faith, and not works? Every place Paul talks about us being saved through faith, and not by works, he is explicitly talking about the works of the law (i.e. the 1st Covenant and the laws of Moses). Paul was trying to knock down those who would Judaize the faith. These false teachers were forcing Jewish law on Christian gentiles, holding that, once we meet Christ in faith, the Old Covenant legalism still applies. This is clearly seen in places like Romans 3:21-31, Galatians 2:15-16 (actually the whole chapter), Galatians 3:1-14 (again, pretty much the whole chapter). The Old Covenant (and the Law) is dead (Hebrews 8:13, 10:1-18). To be sure, we are saved by grace, through faith (Ephesians 2:8). There is only one propitiation for our sin, and that is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross (Romans 3:25, and notice again, it is received by faith). Obviously, many other passages also say this (John 3:15, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:10, Galatians 2:16, etc). Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for all sin (John 1:29, 3:16-18, 1 Timothy 2:4-5, 4:10, Titus 2:11, 1 John 2:2, etc.). 3. If someone comes to genuine faith, they are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15), they are given a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26-27), the are sealed by the Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:22 and 5:5, Ephesians 1:13), and they have repented of their sins (which means to turn away…i.e., change behavior). I will be careful here not to use the word “works.” This is not about following the Old Covenant laws of the Jews. But, we WILL bear fruit, in the form of the fruits of the spirit. The Bible actually teaches that obedience to Christ is our proof that we love and trust Him (John 8:31, John 14:15, John 17:6 and of course, places like Hebrews 11 and James 2:24). Obedience is also our proof that we belong to Him. Failure to produce fruit indicates that we are not in Christ, and He is not in us. (Matthew 3:8, John 15:1-14, 1 John 2:3-6, 1 John 3:4-10). Once we understand this, the full assembly of his writings make more sense. Paul also clearly understands that no one can be saved by their works, because all are sinners and fall short (Romans 3:23, Romans 4:4-5). I think all Christians are in agreement here. Jesus fulfills, completes, and perfects the law (Matthew 5:20-again, from verse 5:19 to 5:48, we see the requirement is impossible to us, but accomplished through Jesus). The same Paul who labors over the inability for works to save us also tells us to work out a faith with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12-13) and to run the race so as not to be disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Philippians 3:10-14). The author of Hebrews says the same (Hebrews 12:1-12). (notice also Romans 1:5…obedience).

@@waynerossiter9962 THe scriptures you pasted from Matthew to make your point about works seem to have you confused. Why would Jesus tells us MANY times , those who believe in Him will have eternal life and never perish? But then in Matthew He says those who stand firm or persevere will be saved? Contradiction? No. Context is everything. Jesus is talking about the end times in tribulation. Saved is NOT salvation of the soul in those verses, but deliverance . Where in John 3 does Jesus tells people to persevere to be saved, salvation of the soul, to enter heaven? John 3 is the ONLY chapter in the bible that explains how we are saved. In fact, Jesus repeats this FOUR times for those who teach something false. He knew that the true gospel would be perverted into Jesus plus us equals getting saved. If you think anything you do helps you get into heaven, you may want to consider the people who thought the same as you in Matthew 7:21. They did many things for the Lord. He said, " I never knew you" He said they were workers of iniquity. Salvation is being BORN AGAIN. We are new creatures the MOMENT we place our faith and trust in Jesus , Ephesians 1 , 1 John 5. Salvation is NOT a reward for perseverance , obedience, or anything WE DO. You limit the power of God to save, and to finish what he started in you when you PUT your efforts in the process. Jesse has the correct gospel. We are saved, justified, BY GRACE through faith, not works so no man can brag. We don't get bragging rights. We deserve hell, and death. But Gods mercy enables us to be with Him because OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.

According to Piper's own theology, he has disqualified himself from heaven already, since he believes that no heretic can be a "true" believer and go to heaven. Heretics are not only those who maliciously deceive people to lead them to hell. The most well-meaning and respected preacher who says faith alone is not enough to be saved is a heretic because he teaches heresy. (Heresy = doctrine which contradicts the gospel and brings a curse upon the heretic, see Galatians 1:9). When it comes to the gospel, we need to call out heresy when we see it, not out of hate for the confused teacher, but out of zeal for the truth and love for those who are deceived by him.

It’s the ole alone thing. Why add that? Everyone knows it’s a tough doctrine. Can read “For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Then can read this “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?” So mix those 2 and you have the truth. Basically we still need to do. We still have to seek mercy and believe and give mercy and love. Abraham still had to put Isaac on the alter before God imputed righteousness to Him. It wasn’t works of the law of Moses. He still followed up and did what God told him to do. What does Jesus tell us to do that James speaks on? And John and Paul and Peter? Something to think about. I would stick with old dudes like Andrew Murray. They do much better than any young pastor

Whereas most Calvinists of which he affiliates (MacArthur, et. al.) craftily hide their works backloading, at least he's willing to outright say that he believes "you don't get into heaven by faith alone". I think there's another audio clip where he pretty much admits that someone "cannot know" this side of heaven that they're in the elect and must continually examine their life to see if they're persevering.
@waynerossiter9962
@waynerossiter9962 2 ай бұрын

I'm so lost, genuinely. I feel like I've been tossed around in trying to get a grasp of what it means to believe on Jesus, put faith in Him, what it means to be saved. What does it mean to believe in Jesus... I don't understand. I was told that believing He died for us and it happened is not enough. I've been struggling to put to death my sins and carnality for a while. At first I felt like I was doing a great job keeping away from sin (teachers like Paul Washer, RC Sproul, Ray Comfort, and even John MacArthur aside from his teaching of the blood, really helped me learn), but slowly the sin crept back into my life; of course I take all the responsibility of that. The more I learned, the more that videos of discernment against those teachers started to surface. I became confused, what I felt I had such a good grasp of just fell through my fingers. I truly do NOT understand what it means to be saved, nor do I understand the gospel, how to live a christian life, any of it. So many point the finger at the sinner if they are sinning or practicing sin and say that they are going to be damned to hell. I feel awful for my sin, but I know that's not enough. I feel I identify with that manic depression you mentioned in the video. I am upset, depressed, and lost.

God is outside of time so He knows who have and will believe in Christ but I don't. We who have put our faith in Christ are called to live by faith and we obey God to show our love for Him. Who God chooses to save I will leave it up to Him. My eternity in heaven is secure simply because I have placed my trust in Christ and what He did on the cross to save me from eternal damnation.

Did you miss the part of this video that talks about 1 Corinthians 3? You are still saved regardless of your works. You SHOULD do good works based on the foundation of Christ and it will get tested and then you may receive a reward. We just don't know what the rewards are. However, it is about the motive of the good works. Are you doing good works to earn salvation to get into heaven? 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 KJV every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

You're right he did receive grace in his last moments, and then he went on to rebuke the other thief who had blasphemed Christ, confessed his own sin, and honored Christ in front of the bloodthirsty crowd that had gathered, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” He in fact did do the works spoken of in Ephesians 2:10. Some of us only have moments, others have years. Works are the product of salvation not the cause of salvation. Piper is speaking on James 2:14-26, particularly 18-24, the dead faith. We are not saved by faith, we are saved by grace through faith.

About the 5% thing. Absolutley. I was in that situation and I'll tell you, I started contemplating suicide. The only thing that stopped me was that I knew for sure I was going to be in hell. At least if I continued to live, I had hope to find salvation. That is what made me realize that we don't find salvation. Jesus already won and provided salvation for us. There's not a darned thing we can do to earn it. That's probably the reason I was able to accept that, is because in my striving to earn salvation, I realized I kept screwing it up. Like people say, how many works must I do to be saved, and once saved, how many sins does it take before you lose that salvation? That's the question I tripped up on and it made me realize that it doesn't make sense that we can lose our salvation. And since God requires perfection, it is impossible for man to earn salvation. It's like Jesus telling people "to be saved, your righteousness must surpass that of the pharisees, and he'd already rebuked the pharisees. So if our righteousness must surpass the pharisees, and they were very strict law keepers, and jesus still rebuked them, how then can anyone's righteousness surpass the pharisees? You cannot. It's impossible. Even if someone was to obey all the laws like the pharisees, they would only accomplish righteousness equal to the pharisees. There is only 1 who's righteousness surpassed the pharisees: jesus Himself. And therein lies the answer. We have to trust in christ for the works he did upon the cross. Put our faith in him and the bible says His righteousness will be counted for us. I think it can only make sense to someone led by the holy spirit. I don't say that to boast. I didn't think the holy spirit had anything to do with me. But when you realize that you constantly sin. Constantly break God's law, you realize you are condemned just in that. So logically speaking, the only way out is through Christ's righteousness.

I often get the two confused with one another. I thought Piper was Wesleyan teaching perseverance of the saints. Lol, i always thought Calvinism was saved always saved One says - you can lose salvation One says - you were never saved to begin with Both based on faith without works which ironically was written to believers That’s not exactly the way it’s taught. It’s more lie you are saved and must go from the door down the hall into salvation by walking not focusing on works. It’s much more subtle for lack of a better word.

I stopped trying to follow his reasoning. BTW, the judgement he's talking about is the great white throne judgment where God will examine his works and the quality of his works will prove he is justified. Of course by that time he would have already spent 1000 years in the kingdom with Jesus. Under his teaching, a person would have to leave the kingdom to go stand with the lost and hopefully God would judge his works to be sufficient to return him to God. The fruit of the Spirit is holiness. It is not sinful. The freedom you have in Christ allows you to live holy. This in no way is a proof of salvation or a prerequisite for salvation. The passage is written to saved people telling them not to use their grace as a license to sin. This is because saved people DO use their grace as a license to sin - sadly. They're still saved though. How prideful to assume you live holy enough all the time. It is not MY holy living, but it is GOD's justification that saved me. - Trent

@@BibleLine yes sir, that's what I was implying by this verse. I think also our nature is changed at the new birth and this new nature causes us to live more holy. Our holiness is the fruit and not the root of our relationship with God.
@BibleLine
@BibleLine 6 ай бұрын
I see. I do believe the scripture states we receive a new nature, but the old nature also remains. You are born, but you are born again. The sin nature (1st birth) resides in your body. The new nature is the new spirit (2nd birth) that is from God. These two exist at the same time in the believer. This is the reason why you CAN live holy and you CAN live wicked. It depends on what nature you serve. Gal. 5:16-23 - Trent

Lol I checked out a minute in. This was the epitome of "everything I don't like is Calvanism" Calvinists across the Reformed tradition have excoriated Piper for this kind of thing. It has literally nothing to do with Calvinism. It's the debate over final justification, a doctrine which the majority report of the Reformed have denied for 4 centuries.

I am not a Calvinist. But in all of the hours I have spent trying to weed through the Calvinism debate, I have never ever heard a Calvinist talk about two justifications. Actually, the only group that talks about two justifications, that I am aware of, is Catholicism. Catholics, probably the furthest thing from Calvinism, soteriologically speaking, have initial justification at baptism and final justification if you keep the faith. Again, I am not a calvinist, so maybe your're right, but I would need some proof of that initial/final justification debate in Calvinism.

Salvation is through Christ alone, its 100% biblical. With that said, I hate sinning, I hate seeing what sin does to peoples lives, and I hate it when I screw up and sin, even if its just a thought. God is always dealing with me and changing me. My point is anyone who makes the outrageous claims that those who believe in free grace think its ok to live for the devil and that we don't think its important to persue holy lives, that is a lie. However as hard as I try to do good, I fall short all the time. We all fall short all the time. No one is capable of meeting God's standard of holiness. I feel like those who believe in lordship salvation or calvinism resent those who rest in the finish work of Christ for their salvation, which is why they make angry/rude comments, or make outrageous claims that we believe its ok to live unholy lives. I used to believe in the lordship salvation/ calvinism. I thank God that he has shown me I can be at peace, knowing Im saved by the finished work of Jesus.

Lord help me. I feel like I opened a can of worms when seeking Christian content on KZfaq. In one video you will hear God Loves You! You are saved through Jesus Christ. The next will be “everyone is going to Hell. We’re all doomed for this sin and that sin. Most Christians are going to hell. This rollercoaster is rough as a Christian. Imagine if you were an unbeliever and seeking this content. Your works are like filthy rags. I am a sinner. I know that I’m in trouble if I had to stand on my own judgement. My only hope is Jesus.

Isn't Piper refferring to: Mathew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [g]the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [h]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. and also to the king who found the person in the wedding feast without the proper clothing?

I thought Piper sounded more like a Roman Catholic by front loading good works on to the Gospel. Maybe he is thinking about converting back to Rome. Perhaps I was not listening correctly but no matter Calvinism and their 5 points as they understand them in their own words is pure HERESY. I like what HowAoutThat224 had to say. I thank God for Excellent Pastors like Jesse Martinez.

@@BibleLine Do you know of a sound church like yours in the Palm Beach Broward County area. The last church I was attending was a Baptist Church affiliated with the Southern Baptist. Albert Mohler spoke at one of the services I attended. I discovered a lot of the church leaders were talking about election and predestination a strange way at least to me. I was not familiar with the acronym TULIP. I now have a good understanding of Calvinism. I think its not just a secondary issue but denies the true Gospel and is to be avoided at all cost.
