I thought they'd wait till their next Rings of Power footage before they'd worry about the comments on the trailer, oh how wrong I was! It just goes to show how tightly controlled and locked down all marketing for this TV series is, worth remembering for the future for anything that comes directly from them. The funny thing is, that if they spent half as much time trying to ensure the show is well-written, respects Tolkien and his lore as they do trying to silence the fans, they wouldn't have to worry.

I was having a deep and intelligent conversation in the comments with some real Tolkien fans. It wasn't disrespectful at all, but did highlight some valid points. The conversation was about how people of all ethnic backgrounds have always been drawn to and welcomed by the Tolkien fan base. How all people everywhere can see parts of themselves in Tolkien's characters no matter their skin tone, because we are human, we resonate with the characters on an archetypal and a soul level. The entire thread was deleted within an hour or two.

Amazon: "Your opinion matters, let us know what you think!" Us: "This looks bad." Amazon: "Shut up! Who asked you?!"

Elrond: “We have but one choice. It must be destroyed.” Gimli : “What are we waiting for?!”

Amazon's best con, in their latest ad, is trying to pull a fast one on viewers with the book, _The Lord of the Rings_ and their fan fiction, _The Rings of Power,_ belonging in the same universe.

This saddens me I've been a fan of the Tolkien world for 3 decades . When I struggled with reading in 6th grade the hobbit was a challenge I over came and opened my mind to many books and adventures . And these woketards just killed not just a childhood memory but life long love for a franchise

When Paramount's Halo series was airing, I couldn't believe I was seeing most people praising it; calling John a badass, the acting is good, etc. But only a few were calling it as it is. Here we are again with LotR.

This commercial is worse then it looks. They are literally replacing Tolkiens name with Amazon. They’re planting their seeds for the next generation to not even know who Tolkien was. And as far as removing comments that’s just part of their advertising now. They don’t even try to hide it anymore. Cancel your Amazon subscription September 1st

My reason for watching negative vids about this LOTR desecration is that I have no control over what woke Hollywood does, but I can commiserate with true fans against it.

I look forward to the Amazon series set in feudal Japan in which half the Samurai are black and half are women. Such inclusion!

Most normal people don't go into a story thinking "Oh gee this better have some people that look exactly like me or else I just won't be able to relate to this at all." Instead what attracts people to timeless stories is that they are well-written and have characters with relatable goals and morals that anyone of any race/sexuality or whatever can get behind. If you genuinely only care about the skin color of characters in your story, you're the problem.

I consider Lord of the Rings as the last line of defence. If we fail to protect it everything else will fall. It's that simple.

The failure of this show is going to be glorious.

It's like Hollywood forgot why we watch in the first place. To literally escape this world. To live in another world for a moment. Yet when they first announced this show, they proudly said they wanted our present .depressing . Crappy world....to be reflected and represented in the show. As soon as I read that. I've checked out.

"Why do you talk about things you don't like?" In my case, at least part of it is because the things I don't like often aren't just bad: They also send horrible, toxic, corrupting messages to people, so I feel a moral obligation to speak out against it. A key example is the thankfully now- cancelled show 'Batwoman.' Not only did that show suck donkey- balls in every conceivable way, but even worse, its recurring message of "Dangerous, violent psychopaths are all REALLY just misunderstood victims of society who should be allowed to get away with all their crimes (Including mass- murder and acts of terrorism) Scot free and never go to prison or face any other consequences for their actions" is deeply toxic and dangerous, and similar philosophies being put into practice in real life have led to a LOT of preventable deaths and destruction. Thus, I felt the need to speak out against that show, partly to hopefully prevent that message from corrupting anyone else and getting any more innocent people hurt.

Yes I noticed this. "I'm not represented in the Peter Jackson version". Why should you be? Neither am I. I am neither an Elf, nor an Orc, nor Dunedain, nor a Gondorian, nor an etc... It's fantasy.

Id like to see the anayltics of viewership for other content creators with comperable subs like amazon's channels have. My theory is that the comment-per-view ratio decreases the higher the sub count goes, but still doesnt explain the stats of the RoP trailers.

It's not like people aren't on other social media platforms these things are still being said. You can hide the dislike ratio but you'll still be getting ratioed.

This is sort of a good thing, because it reminds us that these fora aren't free and public spaces - they are carefully managed and curated for the sole purpose of making money. If someone's willing to bribe the owning corporation to present matters one way, the corp will probably do it.

Been watching you for a few months now and the videos are awesome and exactly what I’m thinking. It’s sad what they’ve done to every franchise or show or whatever’s from when I was younger. I used to believe they weren’t gonna touch Lord of the rings but the last few years have shown us nothing is off the table. At least we have the original trilogy

I don't know if including footage of the show is always good advertising either. Disney Plus commercials exclusively use clips of incredibly dull scenes of their shows and movies as some kind of "hook". For example, some lady walking down a street while mimicking the things people saw around her or moon knight being lead by the arm away from one empty room to another.

I've always been more interested in information that people have tried their hardest to hide. Especially the burning of libraries. And the one thing I have learned is that those who destroy information are always in the wrong.

I have found that those who have the most trouble relating to others who don't look like themselves, generally tend to also struggle with empathizing with anyone outside of their own immediate circle of friends or family. If I cannot identify with the pain or sorrow, trials or suffering of a stranger, even in a book, because he doesn't look like me....how shallow does that make me?
