Anyone else realize that what summoned Lucifer was Dazzle dying? He is summoned by “a sacrificial lamb”. He keeps R&D around Charlie bc if one of them dies he can sense sh*t is going down.

Have you considered that the reason Lucifer only showed up at the end (beyond the need of the story) was because of what was mentioned in the first episode, where the deal Lucifer made with heaven before agreeing to the extermination was that none of the hellborn (and likely his family SPECIFICALLY) would be harmed? To prevent heaven from having an excuse to purge ALL of hell, he likely had to wait for THEM to break the deal first, before he could step in. That way if the events of the extermination come up before the court of Elders, he's 100% iron clad not in the wrong. Adam broke the deal, which gave Lucifer the right to step in and protect his blood.

Y'know, I thought it was a joke when Valentino said that killing Alastor was Vox's kink... But after hearing what Vox said when Adam and Alastor started fighting... I think it might have been more literal than I'm willing to imagine 🥲

The whole factory reset your brain did when you saw Lilith was in Heaven is hilarious. And pretty close to my reaction. Also, a moment of silence for our boy, Sir Pentious. His sacrifice will never be forgotten. And I'm glad he proved Charlie right, that a soul CAN be redeemed into Heaven.

Emily's squeak at the end was so precious, and I laughed at Sera's face when she realized the exterminations were just needless bloodshed. And I was MIGHTY ANGRY when I realized Lilith was a traitor!

This finale was insane! I especially love how the two songs we get here Chaggie's duet and "The Show Must Go On" are reflections/reprisals of "More Than Anything" and "Happy Day in Hell" respectively. It just feels like this season came full circle musically.

Unfiltered Alastor is so strange in the best ways possible

I think Lucifer couldn’t fight until Charlie was attacked bc that was the deal was. When Adam went for a hellborn sinner, more specifically Lucifer’s daughter, he broke the treaty or whatever hell and heaven had, so Lucifer was allowed to help. If he didn’t I think hell would have been in more hot shit and the exterminators can claim they were just defending themselves

Notice that you never see the comedic relief character get killed in a story. It's just...not something that happens. Maybe a few times in horror movies, but otherwise, it is pretty rare. Not that they didn't nail it here. Sir Pent went out knowing full well how it was going to end. He faced his inevitable death and made sure to make it count. That he failed in that was suitably tragic and totally in character. He became the perfect martyr that no one expected.

Luzifer was just toying with Adam until he saw that he was'nt backing down. Adam was so full of himself that he violated the most important Rule of the Deal between Heaven and Hell: No Hellborn would be harmed during the Extermination.

Dazzle's death seemingly gets glossed over I've noticed, them dying and Lucifer appearing not long after is a neat thing with the fact Lucifer gets spawned when a sacrifice is made. Dazzle died and Lucifer instantly knew something went wrong

Idk why people were so shocked by VoxVal being confirmed and made canon. It was hinted from the jump. Literally in episode 2 Vel told Vox that Val was waiting for his "flat faced prince to calm him down." And when she called Vox, she referred to Val as his "boy toy."

Remember during episode 1 that Lute mentioned there was a deal between Lucifer and Heaven to protect the Hellborn from exterminations. I don't think Lucifer COULD interfere until Adam attacked Charlie with the intent to kill. Once he did that the deal was broken and Lucifer could painfully remind him that a fallen Seraphim and member of the choir of Archangels is far more powerful that a mortal soul made into a rank and file angel.

i continue to love Sera's face. I translate that as "HOLY SHIT, THEY CAN BE REDEEMED?!!?!"

You guys realize the reason Emily is so happy to see Sir Pentious is because she saw him when the council watched Angel Dust’s scene in the bar, right? She knows exactly where he was a month ago, and suddenly shows up in their conference room. Now there’s no denying redemption

19:29 Lucifer can’t intervene unless a Hellborn gets hurt according to the extermination pardon clause, which may include Dazzle getting killed. Adam directly threatening Charlie is a clear break of the pardon rules, as well as Lucifer’s berserk button.

Got to say the ending has a lot of questions. If a demon can die and rise can an angel die and fall? Is Eve the root of all evil? Most of all can Charlie help Alastor get out of his deal since she is Lilith’s daughter. Loophole maybe? Did anyone notice the photo of Alastor in Vox’s song at the end? Shows that at one point Alastor and Vox stood together and were possibly friends. Probably the only photo of Alastor we have ever seen.

Alastor seems pissed that he almost died with people believing he cared for his friends. Also, now that we know Alastor's angle, he's here to find a way out of the deal since the deal he made or was tricked into with Lilith in exchange for being the most powerful Sinner probably had restrictions. and his power is being suppressed to really pull all the strings.

What is Alastair’s deal can only be broken by the Queen of Hell, and he’s trying to manipulate events so that Charlie eventually becomes Queen and uses the favor she owes him to release him from the deal?

24:33 I've actually had a pet theory for a while now that Alastor's deal is with a force outside of the Heaven/Hell hierarchy. His powers feel so fundamentally different from everything else, and whatever it was, his deal enabled him to go toe-to-toe with Adam for a decent while. Given the fact that his powers feature tentacles so much, and the references to Lovecraftian entities in Helluva Boss, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually made a deal with some kind of eldritch force. Because it's interesting to note that some fundamental property of deals makes them enforceable, regardless of who is making them, so it would make sense if there is a force outside of the deal-making structure which creates those rules of enforcement, hence, elder gods of some sort.

I have a probably wrong theory; I think whatever Alastor's deal is suppresses his powers, he seemed so surprised Adam hurt him so bad, so I think he could've beat Adam at full power but ran into that limit. His shadow seems independent so I think that's his real self that's just reflected

Fun little thing I noticed. In episode 5 during the song between Lucifer and Alastor, during the sacrificial lamb line, Dazzle was the one on the altar. Dazzle was the only of the two lamb demons who got killed. Lucifer arrived to the fight after Dazzle’s death. Foreshadowing at its finest

A crazy point I noticed, during Alastor's song bit while he's away from the others, in the wreckage of his little studio, you can actually see worry, perhaps even fear in his eyes, and his smile actually cracks a bit. Obviously he would never let that happen in front of the others, but that is the ONLY time so far we have ever seen either of those things shown by Alastor. Crazy!

I love how much you predicted. Even if it didn't all play out exactly how you thought, a lot of it was still technically correct. The grin on my face right now as you guess that Niffty would finish off Adam. Oh yeah this will be a fun reaction. I'm just about 6 minutes in and I'm so ready. I have a theory about Sir Pentious going to heaven. Remember that if the Sinners got killed by Angelic Weapon, they can't revive or they totally dead dead. But in Sir Pentious case, he didn't got killed by any Angelic Weapons, that must be why he can still revive but since he got redeemed instead reviving again in hell as Sinners, he revive in heaven.

Everyone is getting on lucifers case for having been absent, Meanwhile Liliths been chilling on a beach in heaven for 7 years not giving a shit about the family she left behind in hell 😆 that is my take away theory from the first season at least

The leading theory among fans regarding Lucifer's late arrival to the battle, and possibly his reason for giving in to the exterminations in the first place, was that he struck up some sort of deal-like compromise with Heaven. He would stay out of their way and not interfere, so long as they ONLY attacked then Sinners, and left the Hell-born alone.Tying in with what Lute said in episode 1: "-Daddy gave you and the rest of your hell-born kind a pass from an Exorcist's blade!" When Charlie's life came over direct threat from Adam (or possibly even when Dazzle was slain by Lute), the deal broke, and Lucifer was free to go HAM on their asses!

I think what Lucifer meant about Eve was her accepting the apple from him without hesitation. But that's just me. I also believe that Angel can't get into Heaven because Val owns his soul which is way Sir P was able to go there because no one owned his.

Lucifer actually couldnt get involved until he did. He has a deal with heaven. The deal was "the exterminations are fine, but you don't kill any hellborns." As lucifer said, heaven has a lot of rules. Rules that he personally doesn't want to break. But then Adam broke the rules by attacking charlie, a hellborn. Then, and only then, was it okay for lucifer to get involved and punish adam however he wanted.

My theory with pentious was that he was redeemed moments before he died that’s why his death was no shown

I know I'm a month late, but the reason why Lucifer couldn't show up earlier was because he couldn't interfere until the agreement was broken, aka until a hellborn was killed. So he couldn't act until Dazzle died.
