This mobility and stretch class is great for the lower back/QL. It's a mix of movement and static stretch holds. Perfect if you have a cranky lower back or tight QL.
We'll use a yoga block in class. If you don't have one, grab a thick book (like a textbook) and a pillow.

This is great to do on an active recovery day, or any time you're feeling a little stiff and are looking for some gentler, feel-good movement.

Ugh yep this one was great too. Finally lower back videos that actually address the lower back rather than exclusively the surrounding areas! I have chronic foot issues that I know are at least aggravated by my hips being uneven (which probably stems from some lower back issue). PT’s always just focus on strengthening my hips and core even though that hasn’t helped - so that first sequence standing on the block is exactly what I was looking for in order to build a better foundation of function rather than just strengthening dysfunctional systems. For that part, do you bend the knee you’re balancing on as you lower the other foot? I couldn’t really tell from the video and wasn’t sure if bending my knee was counterproductive.

Oh me gosh! I am so tight that I couldn't rotate the upper body while in the half straddle pose. Does the whole exercise needs to be done with the sit bones on the floor? I couldn't put the other elbow down. Should I work more on upper body mobility?
