Welcome back to another episode guys!
Todays task is installing the brand new HDS 9 Lowrance Sounder. So pumped to get out on the water in hope to help find some big fish! We install the HDS display on the dash and fit-up the transducer to the brand new transom!

Wiring is looking very neat !! Transducer looks a tad high, and too close to the rake fin ... Should have used a straight rule under the keel, and levelled it off from there ...

Great video mate love the content and chilled tunes, dont stress to much on fitment as you'll find you'll have to fine tune the position once in the water and seeing how your chines affect it. Maybe a 1kw on the other side of motor 👌

I have just installed the same transducer on my boat. I will be interested to see how yours performs. It looks to high to me and might get some disturbance from locating it close that strake under the boat

I glued with epoxy a piece of 10mm thick plastic cutting board to the transom and screwed the transducer to it. No holes in the transom that way

Hi there Nick i just started following your channel I installed.a Lowrance elite ti2 9 inch I thought that the traducer should be level with the bottom of the boat cheers 🎣

Not taking anything from you. I love restoring boats myself and I think you did a good job on that one. That being said, I don't like penetrating my hulls with anything, for any reason. I learned my favorite way to mount an external transducer, is to prepare a half inch piece of plywood with "glass'' and paint it. Then, trace it with a pencil where you want it, get the shine off that area with some fine sand paper and epoxy the new piece to the hull. Mount your transducer to that... We live and learn... Good luck and control that anger!

you should have over drilled the holes filled them with the ?"bogg"? then drilled through the middle of that for the mounting hardware. This method is much less likely to allow water intrusion into the transom over time.

you can still do this when you have to adjust the height of the transducer.

You may need to lower the transducer, probably not going to read at speed being that high

Not really shows anything to do with installation, nothing about what cables go where, what wires connect to what. Shows the unit screwed to a dash. Not really rocket science that.
