A.J. I really enjoy your videos! You have been instrumental in my decision regarding purchasing this boat. Lund has really figured out weight distribution with the fuel and trolling batteries further forward. I am thinking that this boat can probably slip in and out of coves and shallow flats with ease. Once again, beautiful boat, and thanks for your efforts to bring it public.

I see you flush mounted your fish finders are there any drawbacks from doing so ? I was tossing between a ram mount and flush mounting
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
A few thoughts on the flush mounts; First, I don't fish competitively so the bow & console units are sufficiently effective. I really do prefer a 'clean' deck up forward as well as the flush mount at the console which allows for Max visibility on plane - Down side to any flush mount (which is real) is that if the unit(s) needs to be repaired, it's a PIA to remove it. But, so far so good. Also going flush mount limits screen size to whatever will fit - I'm running 2 Helix 10 SI GPS KVD units & added a trolling motor mounted 360 imaging last fall - pretty sweet.
@ggiconsulting60606 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a sweet set up you have , I was thinking the same I like a clean looking boat that’s why I’m leaning towards the flush mounts I just pick up a raymarine axiom 9 rv and the same unit in a 7 inch for the bow I wish I could go with 10 inch but everything cost a lot more in Canada lol I have 6 to 8 more weeks to go before I get delivery of my boat. I love your talons on your boat I’m going to have to wait until next year before I can manage that.
@ggiconsulting60606 жыл бұрын
Hi Aj question about your talons did you mount them directly to your transom ? I was thinking about getting them but I was concerned about drilling holes into a new boat lol I have seen guys tie them in with there jack plate. Also do the talons weight a lot I’m not sure if it will but me over my limit for the transom weight capacity my motors weight in at 537 lb

Awesome boat ! Enjoyed the detailed review. Looks like a nice accumulation of rod and reel set ups. And what a great rod locker, to store them in. Would love to see a review of some of your favorites rod and reel set ups. Especially the ones geared more towards smallmouth. Good job. Think I'll watch it again...

Thanks for the kind words - Not really a tackle reviewer. In the months since I post this review I've added to & zero'ed in my rod & reel selections. Consists of Quantum & Shimano reels and Quantum, St Croix, G.Loomis & Fenwick Rods. Different models for different applications - and I do love to catch Smallies ~ :c)

Thank you for the support I really appreciate it. There have been Zero problems or concerns regarding the batteries. In fact I would say the mid rig location contributes to the Pro-V's stable ride. Fyi I run four 31M Optima Blue Tops.

Great review. Did you have the talons mounted directly to the hull or to a motor mount sandwich bracket? If so has that been OK. Also, did you get the tilt bracket? Thanks
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks John . . Yes I had the dealer mount them to the transom. There were some warranty issues / concerns with Mercury Marine if the Talons were mounted to a plate between the motor & the hull. Don't know if that's been rectified or not. Either way the hull mount has been good. ***** Very Important note ****** ALL the Mounting Hardware / Bolts Must Must Must be through mounted and not just screwed into the hull ! If they are not secured on the back side they WILL PULL OUT. Not Good. Access to through mount them is a little bit of a PIA - but simply Must be done. I love the Talons, besides keeping me on fish, they make SOLO launch & Recovery of the Pro-V VERY EASY. I did get the tilt brackets to make in & out of my boat garage possible - Additionally, there is a 6 inch 'spacer' (minn kota accessory) between the hull & the tilt brackets - it's needed to allow sufficient space for the tilt bracket to clear the transom and be lowered all the way to the deck. You're getting some great info here - :c)
@johndeluca87796 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I really appreciate your detailed reply and advice. I had a dealer mount one 11’ Talon on my Predator and they used the sandwich bracket. Maybe when I did this there wasn’t an issue with the Merc warranty. I too love the single Talon and think the twin will be a big upgrade. Thanks again.

Why the talons instead of an ultrex or other spotlock TM? What is the height of the talons on the trailer (garage door clearance)?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
Sorry this response is a little late - I was on Lake Baccarac in Mexico Last week hammering Huge Bass, , , The ultrex was not out yet when I first bought this boat. I'd consider the spot lock but until the talons at not able to meet my needs - I'm good right there. I also keep the Lund in a garage - so I got the Minn Kota Tilt brackets installed. Works well to reduce the rigs overall height to were the motor is the highest point...

Do you have any video of rough water (3 ft or better trough to crest) runs?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
What you see here is what I have as far as running the Lund on the water. So far the Pro-V has done been very capable and it's done everything I've asked it to do. I am confident that this will continue. As for running on plane or cresting 3 ft waves - as a 28 year USCG veteran, with a couple of decades of boat handling experience in weather you're not likely to ever see (except in a nightmare perhaps) I can tell you that this is the vessel I trust my life with now.

Can you get a single axel trailer with this model? And do you need to wipe it down after a trip like a glass boat?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
Yes - The package I purchased included the custom single axle galvanized trailer - as for wiping down the hull after use - I do it. A quick wipe down with Boat Bling's Hot Sauce removes water spots without removing wax - spray & wipe - here's a link ~ www.boatbling.net/shop/hot-sauce

AJ, great review. I just bought the same boat last summer and so far I love it. I'm curious about the dimensions of the size 31 battery you installed. I wanted to go with an odyssey group 31agm but it is 13" long and the compartment is only 12.75" What kind of battery did you install ? Thanks!

Aj Lynn - Love the boat. What did yours cost set up as it is ?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing7 жыл бұрын
Thank You - Me Too. Prices can vary a bit depending on local. My particular boat, motor & trailer package included a custom trailer which bumped up the $$ . Not willing to post prices publically. I will say that I did pay a bit less that what the Lund interactive web site quotes. I'm in northern Michigan and used Maple Bay Marine in Brutus, MI - they are Fantastic !

Hi AJ, this is a great boat. I think I have found the boat I need. I have recently retired and am looking for a boat. I have two questions. (1.) I am a crappie fisherman and want to get into more bass, walleye and Muskie, Do you feel your boat is a good choice for this kind of fishing? (2.) I really like the 1875, but I would like a front deck that I could have two seats on it. Can you get the 1875 with two seats on the front deck? I live in the upper Midwest and would be fishing small to medium size lakes. Probably not Lake Michigan or Erie.
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron ~ Congrats on your retirement. I mainly bass fish. I have done some walleye fishing but this rig is not the best for slow trolling if that is part of your deal. I don't target musky or crappie. As for 2 seats on the front deck of this rig - you'd have to do it yourself. To the best of my knowledge these boats are only offered in this configuration.

Great rig Aj. I've been looking at these Lund's for a month. Your review was the best. I would like to see it run in 2-3 footers. The 2075 is the one I'm looking at. Do you get 61 mph out of it. I'm have a 20' bullet and looking to go back to aluminum. My 1st boat was a Lund. What's up with the Sox hat. I'm from the Boston area. No real Lund dealers around hear. They have a couple but they don't stock any of these models so I don't think they are qualified to set it up like yours. Power poles, extra battery and so on. May one from your guys out there. Thanks
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks ~ I grew up in Everett, MA - Still a Huge Boston Sports fan. I get 58 mph WOT. The 2075 is a Super Sweet rig and everyone I know that has one or even ridden in one LOVES Them. GET IT ! Lund's are popular here - I used Maple Bay Marine in Brutus, MI Great Service. Ask For Tim or Dustin, they'll take good care of you. I'll be doing a '2 year' updated review on this rig in a week or two. Watch for it - also I am re-powering the Pro-V. Just ordered the new V-8 Pro XS 200hp - expect it the first week of August. If you order a new boat - get the new motor !

Hello AJ Great walk through. I am looking at this boat myself. Wondering where you are located. My nearest lund dealer is not being very helpful. I live in Northern California. I would also suggest an external mic. the audio is a bit faint. TTy

What is top speed with the 200 Merc?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing7 жыл бұрын
Hi John - It's running just under 60 mph - and I have it pretty loaded down with gear & tackle. After running it for a season I can tell you this one launches very nicely out of the hole. A little less HP would probably be OK - But that's Not my style - I like to have the juice when I want & need it.

The Two most forward compartments and the Rod Locker all lock with a key as does the Pop Up Tackle Tray. The 'glove box' type space in the optional (passenger) console locks with a key as well.

how much do these new bass boats (lunds) cost?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing7 жыл бұрын
The New Lund Pro-V Bass boat prices, like most boats, range in price depending on options chosen. Base price varies a little from dealer to dealer & by local. Prices are comparable to most of the better New Glass Hull models. This ones rigged up nicely and the price reflected that. You get what you pay for. www.lundboats.com/boat-models/1875-pro-v-bass/

+Aj Lynn another question for you, how does it handle on rough water like 3 to 5 feet waves?
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing8 жыл бұрын
After 28 years in the U S Coast Guard, most of which was driving boats in the surf doing Search & Rescue, I'll tell you that any 18 foot boat's ability to safely navigate 5 foot waves depends a lot on the driver. This boat has an excellent design & High freeboard which helps in rough water - but unless you really know what your doing, doesn't belong in 5 foot waves.

Do you ever wish you got the Lund 2075 Pro-V Bass.
@AjLynn45thParallelFishing7 жыл бұрын
No doubt the 2075 is a sweet rig but No - The 1875 slides into my boat garage like it was made for it - and the 2075 would not fit. Additionally, I fish solo a good majority of the time. Launching & recovering the 1875 by myself is quite do-able. The larger the boat the more challenging that gets. Not saying I couldn't do it - but I don't really need to as this one suits my needs & the waters I fish.
