OG Sells nice products. I am really surprised they don't sell this as an auto retractable auto guide. I think a lot of people would like the upgrade.

I think if there was a nice retractable option, Matt would have found it. But to be honest, I prefer the manual crank. Allows you to wrap the hose neatly and less parts to fail in the future.

Why would you use the $100.00 mounting bracket, when you have a board between the studs? Could have mounted the reel right to the same board you mounted the bracket to.
@Scoobyfreak86

Cleaner look and this isn’t the permanent setup. This is a temp setup until the new garage. Walls will be sheet-rocked in the next one and wanted the bracket for that mostly.

Thanks for the information. Pretty sure this is the solution I’m going to go with. Does the shelf mounting width match standard 16” studs?
@Scoobyfreak86

You can adjust the brackets to anything in between the length of the shelf. They are separate from the shelf so can be mounted to what works best.

Hello sir I have a question. Does your reel have some wobble while you reel in and unwind your hose? Mine seems to do that on the disc. Thank you great video by the way.

Hey there just wanted to let you know that the stainless steel elbow you're installing at 5:10 is actually incorrect! The swiveling end of the jumper hose goes directly into the cox stainless steel swivel, then the 3/8" Stainless Steel High-Pressure Elbow you're holding goes onto the non-swiveling end of the jumper hose. You then install the Mosmatic T304 Stainless Steel ⅜” Female QD Coupler to the elbow and the setup is complete. This prevents the jumper hose cable sticking out so far and looks a lot cleaner.
@Scoobyfreak86
@Scoobyfreak86 Жыл бұрын
Yes, for this application I wanted the elbow on the cox reel connection to angle the hose back. For the position I wanted to jumper to sit, it worked out better this way for mine. I also had a second stainless elbow to use on the other end of the jumper that goes into the pump. I haven’t given an update on this yet, but I will show what I did in a future video.

Thanks for pointing that out, and explaining, as I also thought it was bizarre adding a SS El to the to the Coxreel swivel. Looks kinda goofy.

I recently received my pressure washer. I built a very similar setup in my garage. Be careful to figure out some way to secure the pressure washer to the shelf. Mine went tumbling off during a car wash. It basically vibrates around on the shelf until it reaches the edge and then goes over. There doesn't seem to be anything designed in the unit for mounting. I ended up using a strap to run over it and around my shelf. Looks crappy but it works.

@@Scoobyfreak86 Great solution, thanks for sharing. I was going to run a strap as well. FYI, the proper name for it is 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener. I used to call it EZ-Pass Velcro as well. Model is SJ3560. Always good to have a long roll of that stuff on hand in both clear and black.

It looks like you're just running water to the Active 2.0 from your outside water spigot. Do you have hard water? I'm debating whether to spend the money (and plumbing install cost) to run a water line to my garage and get the reverse osmosis tanks.
@Scoobyfreak86
@Scoobyfreak86 Жыл бұрын
Yes right from the spigot. Our water isn’t too hard so I never had any issues with corrosion or water spotting. What you could do is get one of these amzn.to/3Zw74XU. Would be an easy solution to get some clean water right to the active without having to do a whole system.

@@Scoobyfreak86 Thanks. That certainly seems a bunch cheaper. I forget if you mentioned it or not - do you have it plugged into a 15 o 20amp outlet? I currently only have 15's and am also debating on whether I need to try and have them run wire for a 20amp.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share your knowledge. Have you experienced any of the surging issues people report due to your longer hose? I'm planning on setting mine up today. @@Scoobyfreak86 Thanks for the quick reply. Known issue on the VE52. I've seen some reports that the early 2.0s had it as well, but they fixed it with the units shipped to the US last month. Getting ready to set mine up today and getting cold feet if I should have went with the AR 630 TSS. I have plenty of 20A outlets in the garage, but the idea of a unit designed to play well on 15A is appealing.

Based on the the reel being on the same all as the garage door, does the hose scrape against the metal framing of the garage door when you unwind it and go out the garage door? Or is there enough clearance so that isn't an issue?

Why does that blue hose look so damn thick??? for an active 2.0? dude you could hook a straw up to that PW and it wouldn't burst.
@WorldwideBeagle
@WorldwideBeagle 5 ай бұрын
Sorry Mr dudet, it has nothing to do with bursting. That is a standard diameter for a 3/8 ID 4000 psi quality pw hose. 5/8 OD. That gives you the most volume. Volume matters, not pressure. A lot of hacks on KZfaq try to sell and get commissions off pushing the teeny tiny 1/4" ID Uberflex or its Kermit Kousin. Cheap hose for cheap PWs. You will never see the 1/4 in noodle straw hoses sold in a real PW store, only Amazon or Fleabay.
