sir is it possible to machine down a casted piston in lathe machine, with all those tapper angles,barrel shape and ovalish profile.

Not all pistons are easy to machine due to their shape. One method I have seen used is to clamp the piston onto the chuck or faceplate using a bar that the wrist pin fits through. Needs to be a very good fit on the pin and pulled up tight by the use of a draw bar to stop any movement. Hope this helps.

Hello Spen, Is the engine your referring to the A series engine, if so, 40 odd years ago we young lad`s had great fun building mini engines- flat top pistons, 731 cams and twin inch and a half carbs and so on, oh those were the days.
