Roseanne did a lot of good once (and being "annoying and disgusting" was part of it; she made that an okay thing for women to be, as opposed to it being solely the domain of men). Hers is still one of only a handful of shows in American history that depicted a family actually living a lifestyle commensurate to the incomes of the stated jobs of the breadwinners. Think about how sick that is; nearly 100 years of American television, and only a very few shows have had the guts to depict the reality of American life, and not some fantasy land where American poverty isn't wished into the cornfield. As to what happened to her, it's the same thing that happened to Frank Miller or Dennis Miller or Craig T. Nelson or any other bitter older person; they got lazy and began to indulge the bigotry that told them that their success was entirely due to talent and not at all to privilege. Once you let yourself start to slide into that fascist reality-denying mindset, you don't tend to turn-back. On the contrary; you tend to accelerate exponentially.

Priests for sure VTP. I saw it first- hand, (the fall out, not the actual abuses) having worked for a large catholic archdiocese. Priests were routinely transferred, or even hidden from law enforcement when charged or confronted. Massive pay offs, pay-outs, "settlements" by the church cost them 100's of MILLION $. Drag queens are largely harmless.

Men have been dressing up as women and playing women’s roles for centuries. What about the movie Tootsie or Mrs. Doubtfire? Milton Berle and Red Skelton dressed up as women in their “family” variety shows in the 60’s and 70’s and now all of a sudden reading books and getting kids interested in listening to a dressed up character is immoral? I would agree if they were reading 50 shades of grey to the kids, but come on, this is a made up fear mongering by adults who are sexualizing these characters. Children don’t think that way. Yes, Drag queens can be raunchy, but that would be in an adult show in Vegas or somewhere that is meant to be adult content.
