I used to hate on LeBron until Jordan/Kobe supporters unecessarily criticize him over every little thing that he does. People really knock on James for having a losing finals record and hate the man so much that some think it's better to lose in the playoffs than on the biggest stage in the NBA that being the Finals.

I grew up during the 70s, people used to criticize Muhammad Ali for not knocking out guys quicker, as if that was a measure of greatness. LeBron has more points, assists and rebounds than both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. LeBron has scored more points in the playoffs than any player in history. Jordan and Kobe Fans wish that their player was as good in so many areas as LeBron. The King doesn't have to take a backseat to either of those guys.

@@ShowtimeSammy_ Yeah but not at a dpoy level, which jordan did. Plus, the fact that he can play good defense when he wants to doesnt change the fact that he doesnt do that. And what that means is that if he did play hard defense consistently the way jordan did, he would be way more tired and his offense wouldn't be as good as it is. Just like how Jordan could shoot 3s when he wanted to, but he rarely did.

I have been watching the NBA since the 70s, and I watched Kareem in his prime and watched Jordan at North Carolina and then with the Bulls. But after watching LeBron James play for 20 seasons, I have to say that we are all witnesses to greatest player the game has ever seen. I know it hasn't quite soaked in for everyone yet, and many are still in denial, because the media likes to hate on him, but those people will come around after his career is over. There will never be another LeBron James, it is as if someone took the ingredients to build the perfect player, they took the athleticism of Michael Jordan, the vision and passing ability of Magic Johnson and rolled it up into the body of Karl Malone. Just think LeBron James is left handed but he shoots the ball with right hand, he can shoot with his left hand too, but he prefers to use his right hand to shoot. He can drive with either hand, and finish with either hand. This guy is very very talented. Jordan had 866 consecutive double figure games, and most people thought that wouldn't be broken, but LeBron broke that record several years ago and now has more than 1,070 consecutive double figure games. A lot of people thought Kareem's scoring record would never be broken, but LeBron is on the verge of breaking that record this season. I know he doesn't have much time left in the game, because of his age, but I am going to enjoy watching him play for what little time he has left, knowing that I am watching the greatest to ever play the sport.

@@julrob97 That is your opinion, statistics show that LeBron is better. LeBron scored more points, grabbed more rebounds and dished out more assists than Jordan. On my list Kareem is 1st until LeBron passes him points, LeBron is #2 until he passes Kareem and Jordan is 3rd.

People don't understand statistics. Of course LeBron is passing magics assist total, he's played 6-7 seasons more than magic. Totals at the end of a career are generally attributed to longevity, and whilst that in itself is impressive, I makes some other statistics a bit misleading.

@@knifenoir that's actually not true. No player has ever just put teams on their back, and that's the biggest farce in sports. Every time a team plays well over a season, you can point to numerous good players (not always great) on the team. His run on the cavs the first time around was impressive but even so the group played together extremely well.

Makes it misleading how? Yes bron passed magic in 6-7 more seasons but its not necasarilly just abt him passing magic(magis is the greatest passer ever). I mean let’s put it into context. Magic played 12 years lebron is in year 20. Magic has more rings than lebron in almost half the time. I’m not disrespecting lebron but people need to realize how great magic is when having the GOAT debate. Magic played in the NBA FINALS his first year in the league and his last. Magic played 12 years and went to the finals 9 times. Magic was battling the greatest teams of all time……Birds Celtics, the bad boys, Doc and Moses 76ers, Jordan’s bulls. I love lebron but resume wise he hasn’t passed magic or Kareem. Don’t even mention Jordan.

I always hear make his teammates better yet in all honesty players get worse playing with him. Love, AD, Westbrook, Wade, Bosh and many supporting players that were very good on other teams were not that good with Lebron. The only player I can really say Lebron made better was Kyrie, these two really had great chemistry

I respect LeBron for sure, but cumulative stats are the only thing that has created the GOAT narrative. He's played almost twice as long as Magic and he's JUST NOW passing him in assists? By holding the record, the narrative will say LBJ is one of the greatest assist men in history. Magic averaged 11 dimes every night and LeBron averages 7.

An argument could be made that had Kareem not been forced to play an entire college career (3x National Player of the Year, 88-2, 3x NCAA champ) his scoring record with 23 seasons would be untouchable. But a lot of LBJs career numbers will be impressive, but also misleading 20 years from now. For instance, LeBron will eventually pass David Robinson on the all-time rebounds list and the difference is The Admiral did it in 14 seasons.

Everyone understands how great he is. Greatest small forward of all time, definitely. But it reminds me of an exchange in the movie Ford vs Ferrari: "Why exactly should Mr. Ford listen to you? Jordan earned 9 first-team all-defensive selections and a DPOY, while averaging 5 assists a game for his career, even as he led the league in scoring 10 times. And that individual production translated into 6 titles (of which he was the driving force, as evidenced by his 6 FMVP’s). How’s that selfish?
