I am a social worker who has worked with adults who have Developmental Disabilities and this whole case makes me incredibly uncomfortable. She most likely needed inpatient care and i have a lot of empathy for her past. She never should have been in a place to care for others when she doesn't appear to have the ability to fully care for herself and had a history of harming animals. This whole situation is beyond tragic. The cycle of abuse rolls on.

I was beaten by a babysitter at 7 months old for crying because my diaper was wet., her husband called children services and that’s where my mom picked us up the next day. That’s the story I was told anyway… I wonder how long my mom was gone…..

Years of babysitting and four kids, and not once did I have to call an ambulance or coroner. Christine's first death was suspicious. The second baby's demise was hella suspicious. The third baby to fall ill or die in her care was like a blaring tornado siren 6" from your ear. How could anyone ignore that?

I feel like maybe people who didn’t know about her animal abuse assumed she was deficient enough to not be capable of doing bad things but not enough to be a liability to children’s safety.

One thing I will never understand is how someone commits some type of abuse against children, is arrested and has the right to return to their normal lives. I think it's a huge warning someone who has the courage to hurt animals and children. Once they were arrested, they should never return to society.

Had a psychiatrist ask me to go through the medical records of a child client I had. I already has suspicions of Munchausen’s by proxy and so did some of the doctors, and then they disappeared. Poor kid.

I used to live in a really tiny town. One of the local stories was about a woman who did babysitting. She'd put the kids to sleep by holding them over the gas stove with the pilot light blown out. She put them to sleep by depriving them of oxygen.

I've never heard of this case. It's so sad. She went after people weaker then her. I feel so awful for the families that lost children. It could have been so much worse if she hadn't been stopped.

I agree honestly. In the majority of cases the death penalty ends up costing the tax payer more but I believe some people can't or don't deserve to be rehabbed. I don't think that makes you a bad person! You're entitled to your opinions!

I agree with your assessment of the death penalty in this case and your makeup looks particularly lovely today. I usually don’t comment, but I really do like that look. If I were younger I would copy it. But I’m freaking old and blonde so it just wouldn’t work out.
