So here's our latest project, the perfect triangle corner panel with leaded stained glass instead of our typical copper foil projects. This was really fun and totally different from all the other ones. If you want clean lines, this is the way to go. Hope you like it!

Dude! I didnt even know you had an online shop! I looked into your kits and I will absolutely be buying one soon. I think its great to have someone that knows what they are doing who puts together a nice beginner set. I've been wanting to get into stain glass for a long time now. I'll finally be able to start out because you made it so much easier to take that first step! Thank you so much. Love your youtube videos! Keep up the awesome work :)

That cathedral glass is the best to cut with so not much pressure is needed at all. Love it when glass breaks cleanly!

Great job as per usual! I was wondering if not doing the putty step was left off intentionally or not?
@StainedGlassDIY
@StainedGlassDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you CJ! I did not put putty in intentionally since it's being hung indoors. Also trying to get away with the least possible steps for the most minimalist look in a way. But good catch!

Hi there, That's another nice looking project, well done! If you're interested in speeding things up, check out the excellent and tiny mini bench top saw from Harbor Freight. Unfortunately HF doesn't issue great coupons any more but it's still the cheapest mini saw around. Apart from being adorable - I'm a girlie girl, sorry :D - it's super fast and precise, it works great on zinc came so you'll save time on cutting and usually not need to sand either. Those few seconds add up over a big project... Keep on glassing! :)

Do you have to stretch the zinc came the same as you would with lead came? I love the look and it seems like a nice sturdy option
@StainedGlassDIY
@StainedGlassDIY 2 жыл бұрын
No you dont have to, zinc is super stiff already. It doesn't bend well at all so lead is often used to follow the shapes of the glass.

Can you do this project with the foiling? Would it still have the same strength at this method?
@StainedGlassDIY
@StainedGlassDIY 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it would for the interior but for the outside you'd want to use zinc or something stronger so the copper foil doesn't pull.

Where can you purchase the lead or zinc cane for projects like this? I’m having a hard time finding things locally for stained glass and resorting to online purchasing for certain items but cannot find anywhere that sells the cane!

I found some on amazon and ppl also sell on etsy too. I have links down in the description for you.

Hey Jessica, thanks! I didn't add putty to this project but that whiting powder is used to set the putty and clean the glass and lead. Will do another project with the full putty process to show you.

Why did you not cement it? Just curious, I've only used lead cane.
@StainedGlassDIY
@StainedGlassDIY 2 жыл бұрын
It's pretty sturdy without needing to cement it imo. No rattling or loose glass and fits nicely altogether. Plus just hanging it indoors and just less steps overall.

Can I ask why you used the frame of the inside? Is it to give it a cleaner look or is their more too it? Iv seen a few people on here use the Fran parts on the inside, but they never seem to say why. So I’m just wondering! Thanks!
@StainedGlassDIY
@StainedGlassDIY 2 жыл бұрын
The outside frame is a u shape and the glass fits inside the u. The inside came is an H shape and joins two glass pieces together. That's the way the glass shapes are held on. Hope that helps!
