I want a "But Worse" series. Where you take dishes from super fancy, high end restaurants and recreate them as simply as possible. And you're limited to only the most basic kitchen appliances that the average adult would own. Exclusively shopping at Walmart would be the cherry on top.

My wife and I picked some fresh blueberries this afternoon at a local farm and made these blueberry pancakes with the blueberry syrup for dinner. They were so mouthwatering delicious! Definitely worth the extra effort. We even have leftover blueberry sauce to spread on our english muffins in the morning. Thank you Josh for this amazing recipe!

I often make the IHOP copycat pancake recipe and load up the batter with fresh blueberries. It never fails me. I also love Matty Matheson's pancake method, which involves separating the whites from the yolks and whisking the whites until they're nice and frothy/aerated. Makes them super fluffy. Either way, real maple syrup and butter are essential.

Finally something I am an expert in that Joshua is creating/testing. Sorry to say, Joshua, that your buttermilk pancakes are as ordinary and quotidian as anybody else's on KZfaq; this includes all the French chefs, Martha Stewart, and all the rest of the usual suspects. I've seen them all, amateur to pro - perhaps 50 different cooks, and they ALL have the same mix as you. This is terribly wrong. The ingredients other than the flour for my recipe are all the same: sugar, salt, leavening, whole milk, eggs, vegetable oil. And NO vanilla extract. The secret lies in the flour - or should I say flours, plural. You see, pancakes need multiple different flours to create that special flavor that we old-timers knew as children but has been absent for about 30 years now, so you wouldn't know it. The key is to use not just regular wheat flour but also corn flour and rye flour. Use them in a 2:1:1 ratio (with wheat as the higher primary) Then to this add 1/2 cup buttermilk powder instead of fresh buttermilk. This seems counterintuitive but trust me. You also make the mix far too dry, the end product far too tall and massively dense, which will sit in your stomach like a lead weight. And they risk being underdone because they need to cook much longer than a thinner batter requires; you can have fluffy pancakes that aren't an inch thick. And that's it. The difference is subtle but noticeable. I serve mine with just butter so the flavor comes through. I come by this recipe after my favorite mix was destroyed when the company was sold and I was forced to recreate it. Try it. Use it always as a basis for all other buttermilk pancake variations. You won't be sorry. Thank you for all that you do, kid.

No matter what pancake recipe I use , my batter always seems much thinner in consistency than what it’s supposed to look like 😭. So I don’t get fluffy pancakes. I always measure the ingredients exactly but I just don’t know what goes wrong. Could anyone help? Edit: this recipe worked out perfect 😂

This recipe is still so runny for me. I followed everything perfectly

@@expired8363 did you measure the ingredients ? As opposed to using cup measurements? :) Also, I found that using a spatula instead of a whisk can help prevent over-mixing, which leads to a runnier consistency.

It was the face at 4:38 and the line "Papa belives in you" that got a like and subcribe for me. That's what did it. I laughed genuinely. My wife watches your content a lot, this was what finally won me over. Fantastic stuff.

Stop having kids people! It’s immoral to subject your children to unnecessary suffering without their consent! Because no one can consent to being born, it should be assumed that consent to being born doesn’t exist; therefore, no action should be taken on behalf of the child. Just like how it’s not okay to r@pe an unconscious person just because they can’t consent to your act. Everyone has the rights to eternal peace & freedom from all harm, both of which can only result from remaining in the void. Therefore, every human being has the right to NOT be born so long as they cannot provide informed consent to being born. Otherwise, bringing a child into the world without their consent is a violation of their autonomy & cannot be ethically justified!

Exactly! There’s no reason to create a child that’s for the child’s sake. All positives in life, such as love, happiness, or good food are based on fulfilling needs which get created by birth

Not just that, but children should be able to sue parents for non-consensual birth and take half their wages just like a spouse does when divorced

Far too many ppl pretend to care about human rights until it comes to the right to not be born, which is literally the most important of all rights

I made pancakes today and thought let me make the cinnamon spread..I didn’t have any cream cheese to make the glaze so I just did the spread..came out great! My son was excited…he doesn’t like anything on his pancakes at all (don’t know how he could eat dry pancakes but it’s him lol ) but the spread was good with him and he loved it! 🙌🏽 thanks for another great video!!

Made these this morning and they were delicious. I used einkorn flour instead of AP so reduced the liquid. I live at 6,300 ft elevation so next time I'll reduce the leavener. With less air pressure, they rise fast then fall a little.

Hey josh! Newly disabled longtime watcher. Miss being able to make your videos, having low energy makes doing anything “but better” is out of my reach. I was wondering if you’d ever consider a “but easier” series, stuff that have less steps but still easy to do and extremely tasty?? I deserve tasty food again hehe… these pancakes are making me hungry

I worked brunch for many years and my only critique of the pancake batter is: needs about a half cup more liquid, and fold in a few tablespoons of melted butter at the end. Personal preference is no vanilla in a buttermilk pancakes, but works great in plain milk recipes.
