In this video I take an ash limb and turn it to make a mallet for chisels and leather working. Because this piece was taken from a tree removed due to the emerald ash borer, I had to navigate around some bore holes. I also had to make sure the knot found within was placed in an area that would not snap the head of the mallet off when striking. While working with the leather I actually use the newly turned mallet to create the stitch holes. This is not a full How-to video, but more of a quick look at my process.
