I use my iFootage monopod (C180-II) for this action, I get a great reach (2.5 to 6 ft), but the locks are difficult to use and keep the shot steady while doing it.

Hia. What's on the bottom of the gimboom? Are there any screws or holes on thother end? Is it possible to screw something onto that end? I'm thinking of a rubber foot to be able to rest that end on the ground, or perhaps a small trip or type thing. Thanks

How is it going for you this gimboom? I'm trying to decide this vs iFootage monopod (since I have iFootage tripod and it's fantastic quality...)

I have it lent out to a friend right now for their wedding films, but I would probably recommend a good monopod over a gimboom - definitely better to have a more versatile piece of gear.

You'll notice some jitters in the footage - I had my Ronin slightly off-balance and it was very windy.

Hey Nolan, I recently bought the G85 and love it so far. My main focus with this camera is to make videos and film but I also wanna mess around a little with photography. Could you possibly do a video or a short sometime in the future on how to setup and use the G85 for photography? Thanks man

Photography really isn’t my forte but i would encourage you to learn the fundamentals first and then apply them to the G85 - maybe you can make a video about it someday!

Hey Nolan. Does the 1/4" screw able to hold the weight of gimbal, camera & lens? Saw a guys using monopod with gimbal and it break during the shoot that scare me

I felt like it was really trustworthy - no issues with my Ronin S setup. I probably wouldn’t do a cinema camera, but a normal mirror less camera and lens I would feel good about.

Hi, very good video, but I have a question: is this Manfrotto Gimboom compatible with my gimbal Ronin Rs3? The set I want to improve is tgis gimbal RS3 + Canon R6 camera + Canon 24-70mm lens...so I'm looking for a monopod sturdy and safe enough so that I can attach my set with complete confidence and no risks of accidents. Thks in advance for your help. Rgds

It should be able to hold that. I would Double check the gimboom payload settings but you should be good.

This Gimboom has some pretty serious flaws. Several screws came out of the center body and the thing basically collapsed on a shoot. Also the twist mechanism is very poorly designed because it locks in a direction that unscrews the thread of whatever it's mounting too. Overall quite useful product, but man...these are some pretty serious problems.

Also, not related to this video but have you gotten a chance to successfully use the Panasonic 25mm lens on the G95? no Auto focusing is very bad on this lens if using it for vlog. it almost impossible to focus. Any hint?

Feel free to send me an email in my About section on the channel! I haven't used the G95 yet - but V-Log on most Panasonic cameras has terrible autofocus.
