Think I’m picking one up soon. I just started printing pics from em1.1. I found that monitors and phone screens makes me feel my camera needed more resolution. Once I started printing that realization was blown out.

Hi Nolan, Just watched a few videos about G95 from your channel. I just bought one and now thinking if I should return it and get something from Sony or Canon for similar prices. I mostly do amateur travel videos and photography. My biggest issue with G95 so far has been with low light condition. Would you have any suggestion for me? Budget being similar to G95. Hi there… I am really confused between the G85 and sony ZvE10… Does G85 still holds in 2024?

I bought the 5600K only SD300S model last November for $300 off Amazon. I've used it a lot since. Had a night time scene where a living room had to be lit up with moonlight. Someone else set up an Aputure 120D II blasting in through the picture window but it could not do the job. I put a blue gel on my SD300S and blast it through the window, and had to turn it down to 60%, and it looked fantastic, lighting the whole living room and everyone in it with moonlight. Using it in a bedroom at night for a key light, with a soft box, the light had to be at 3% brightness to get the right look. It has also been the sun shining through windows on a number of scenes. It's no 600 watt light but it has done what needed to be done many times. However, I am now looking at 600 watt lights as I find myself lighting many different type scenes for narrative films. I knew buying this light was hit or miss from all the reviews I've seen here and written. I tested my light at 100% for 2 hours when it arrived to make sure it would not overheat, change intensity, or otherwise fail. It's been perfect so far and I am happy with it......especially with the cost savings over an Aputure 300d II. No problems with durability either.

I had an FX30 (APSC Sony) but after i got this, I sold the Sony straight away. The recovery is unbelievable from VLOG. Literally can't believe how much room i have before clipping. It's actually amazing. Also, 6k open gate is actually 3 times the resolution of 4k. The noise is so fine grain and easy to squash. This camera actully blew my mind.

First of all, congratulations for this great comparison. There's no blind test about cameras, especially Lumix cameras, so thanks for this idea. Camera B caught my attention after a few seconds: more natural, more details, more pleasant overall to look at. I'd say, more cinema-like: it has details but also a certain "softness", I don't know how to explain it better. There's something special about videos shot with the GH4, probably due to their high bitrate (200MBps @1080p for the GH4 vs 24MBps @1080p for the G80). I think only the GH5 can hold a candle to the video quality of the GH4. After searching more informations on Google, I came to the conclusion that G series (G80, G85, G90, G95, G100) is mainly designed for photographers - their max video bitrate @1080p is 28Mbps, while GH series (GH4, GH5) is designed for film-makers (100-200Mbps video bitrate). PS: which camera did you sell in the end?

The lag makes these monitors literally quite useless, best off spending a little to get something that can actually be used for manual focus, I mean thats primarily the point of a monitor LOL

Is it true that moiré is bad with this camera?

I am interested in this since it can load real time LUTs. But it still crops at 4k. For amateur this is good enough or save for GH6? I think I'll mostly shoot at 1080 anyway since 4k rendering is still a pain for me.

Ammm, so if you have 3 custom setting as video, you abandon photography? Why don’t you have one mode for 6k open gate? It’s really useful for 9:16 social media

Have you tried putting a different softbox on it? I see complaints in reviews mentioning that the bowens mount is slightly off the standard, and they had trouble putting on other manufacturers' softboxes. The softbox that comes in this kit seems small.

Is It good for automotive events with fast moving objects? I have a small automotive channel and need a budget 4k camera.

It would be fair to say that, to my kwoledge, all modern full frame cameras (except sony a7siii) have the apsc crop at 60p, not just s5 or lumix's. Seems to be a sensor limitation and 7siii's could dodge at the expense of lower resolution

Well it literally says a 1.5x cropp and its common for that on a ff camera like on sony and nikon

The zoom cuts are really distracting.

I don't get why cropping is considered a flaw? Can't you just step back and get the same composition?

I have this dilemma at the moment. Natural it's so good it's difficult to see the advantages of vlog, however i notice that the dynamic range of vlog is superior so it gives some slight leeway if you're needing to be creative.
