This man is brilliant! I'm sick to death about "positions" P1, P2, P whatever. There are no such things as positions in a fluid motion. and you damn sure can't determine a position in the 1.5 seconds it takes to make a swing.

Watched these videos last week and today I took my first lesson from an instructor that learned from Manuel. The lesson was so common sense driven that by the end of the lesson, I was convinced of two things. 1. golf is a great game. 2. Golf is not complicated. We make it harder than it really is. What priceless lesson.

Ill bet if you ask 100 golfers of all handicaps to define the arm they'll say from the shoulder to the wrist. But swinging the upper arms primarily gets everything working together. You'll likely feel a real nice pulling action from the left arm youve never felt before. Because we've been using the right elbow and forearm as a lever and creating a cast far worse than a wrist cast. That's why good golfers have that right arm nice and bent even into impact straightening only after impact.

I was always focused on hitting the ball instead of just swinging the club. Thank you for the lesson and changing my thinking, golf just got so much easier mentally.

MDLT changed my game from trying to allowing. I no longer have a million thoughts over the ball. I’ve actually thought of ordering a custom golf bag and putting MDLT letters on it. To always remind myself on each shot that MDLT method is the swing on every shot.

When he talks about not wanting to know where he stands in a tournament it reminds me of all the dumbbells that I’ve played with that love to announce after the 9th hole - “ Great nine Joe. You shot 36”. Inevitably I shoot 45 on the back 9. Happens every time cuz I’m thinking score instead of just keep swinging the club.

MdlT is Yoda level shit. I played in college and at 60 maintain a 4 index. I have tried every method of change trying to be “perfect” I get radically different feels and sometimes in stretches it works. When I filmed over the years on video every method looked almost the same. Therefore I truly understood my swing was my swing. Technically fairly sound and looks good but never consistent until I realized the answer lies in the stuff he teaches, not positions. Once I learned how to swing the club and put it in motion and “leave it alone” my ball striking was more consistent. Back with the hands, through with the arms, let the body react and swing the club at your target. It works. Thank You and RIP Manuel. Legend.

A pity some of these teaching gurus like Manuel have to be a bit arrogant in front of a group, such as when describing his definition of what is the 'arm'. He is using the strict medical definition but in everyday life we say the arm is from the hand to the shoulder, the upper arm is from the elbow to the shoulder and the forearm is from the wrist to the elbow. If you are asked to lift your arm you don't just lift your upper arm! He could have been more polite to the student and to the group by explaining these differences. Otherwise he has some useful concepts for beginners.

I’m late to this teaching method , but even a single trackman session has conclusively proven to me that de la Torre’s method works. Club speed faster, low point 3” ahead, face, path and face to path all within 1deg of neutral, ball speed and smash factor up. And all I did was take the clubhead back with my hands to right shoulder, then move entire forearm , hands and club unit to left shoulder using arms ( upper arm).. no manipulation, no other swing thought. It was like someone else was doing this, it was effortless both physically and mentally and no matter how fast I swung, I finished balanced. Truly wonderful, truly simple and with the advent of technology like Trackman, I had immediate proof that this technique gave optimal impact conditions without any complicated swing thoughts, the ball just got propelled towards target. Do I have the mental strength to stick with this? Time will tell.

Everyone knows reals vs feels are usually different. Most newer golfer are automatically right hand dominate, that causes all shorts of issues including casting and over the top. Both hands are very much used together but most people are going to have much more success focusing on lead (left) hand control. It’s like pulling a trailer vs pushing it, there’s no stability pushing. So when most people try and swing lead hand dominate, they end up using both hands equality, especially for most who let their right hand be dominate unconsciously. Each player is different and require unique feels but generally speaking feeling your lead side pull is going to have much more success than a trail hand push. It’s been shown with high tech motion capturing equipment and is the feeling many many great players have. Personally I’ve felt lead hand control for over 25 years now playing to a + (better than scratch) handicap. I might have some more right hand feel for flops, high shots, hooks, etc. my right hand is working just as hard but as far as squaring the club face and controlling trajectory’s and shapes, lead hand is king while trail (right) hand is just there to add speed and stability. ⛳️🧙‍♂️💭

How many PGA professionals unknowingly have taught otherwise, and not knowing, have made many a player give up/ or play thinking of seven different positions during address. I have always respected the professionals and always will...but sometimes, "show me the money" instead of putting the student on the correct path. But how could they, when they have/had no idea? Many teach a robotic style, and way too much overload of unnecessary movements. Manuel de la Torre's legacy, and your fellow Teacher's...keep up the very good work of a correct "Golf Swing"/ Manuel's Methods encompassing...practice/ tee to green/ 1st to 18th hole/ mental game/ recall and knowing where we/I went wrong/ having the confidence once that club/putter is in your hands. Greetings...To the men/women/youth/devotees of Manuel's teachings. This video did not initially "sink in" until watching the above video a couple of times. There is so much knowledge here...that I wasn't aware of really what Manuel was saying. Then listening and watching numerous times, this video is so beneficial and always a guide to fall back on!!! Hmmm. What makes it harder is we get in the way of the free swing! Manuel reminds me of Fuzzy Zoeller, keeping it simple like Moe, and his teaching is what I saw in Tom Watsons swing while I was on a tee box with him.

He tells you everything you need to know about the golf swing in the first minute and a half. This method would put golf instructors out of business (I believe the audience here are instructors if I'm not mistaken).

What a wonderful and insightful man, whom always believed in what he taught ( I never knew or spoke to Manuel ). I say this, after listening to other's who have been fortunate enough to be taught by Manuel. I'm very sure many would like to wind the clock back to have lessons from Manuel!!!
