Timeless wisdom from a legendary instructor! I've read his book, and Ernest Jones', but actually hearing and seeing Manuel de la Torre teach is priceless! Thank you SO much for posting the videos! Stumbling across these videos feels like I just won the lottery!

These videos are awesome John! It's almost like being on the practice tee with Manuel at Milwaukee CC. Thanks a million for posting them.

How many PGA professionals unknowingly have taught otherwise, and not knowing, have made many a player give up/ or play thinking of seven different positions during address. I have always respected the professionals and always will...but sometimes, "show me the money" instead of putting the student on the correct path. But how could they, when they have/had no idea? Many teach a robotic style, and way too much overload of unnecessary movements. Manuel de la Torre's legacy, and your fellow Teacher's...keep up the very good work of a correct "Golf Swing"/ Manuel's Methods encompassing...practice/ tee to green/ 1st to 18th hole/ mental game/ recall and knowing where we/I went wrong/ having the confidence once that club/putter is in your hands. Thank you...Earnest Jones, Angel de la Torre and Manuel de la Torre.

Wow!I never thought of the fulcrum idea. My hands have leveraging forever. You've also cut in half your radius by actively bending your wrist. If the radius is from shoulder to club head, its twice as long a just wrist to club head. You could probably swing 1/2 as hard and let the club respond to the arms and hit just as far as your active wrist swing. No wonder good golfers look so effort less because they are swinging half the effort of my tense unfolding lawn chair swing. Cant wait for the snow to leave NY. 3 months. Ugh

He works there. Looks like he's hitting balls away from the edges and woods.

Read the book over a weekend, makes sense, but I cant do any of it. Hit with arms, but not the forearms, hands or shoulders? I get that the shoulders shouldn't spin and the hands are passive, but the forearms not getting involved? Beyond me. Basically, after a certain number of years, you're stuck with the golf swing you've got.

Don't give up too soon. No one can tell you in words how to hit a golf ball. It can't be done. So, do it in your own way. You don't think "How". Just do it. He says to swing the club over your back shoulder with your hands and then swing through to the finish with your upper arms. That's what HE feels he is doing. I had trouble with the same stuff when I bought his book 10 years ago. I learned that it has to do with feelings and not words. On my downswing I am trying to feel the weight of the clubhead as it is swinging. I don't care about hands, arms. legs....never a body part! I only want to feel that I am swinging the weight at the end of the shaft. Think in terms of swinging a thin rope with a half pound ball of lead tied to the end of it. That's is the feel you have to learn. Everything else will then start to take care of itself. It is so simple it is hard to believe it can work. It does. YOU have to stop trying to do something and allow the club to do it, almost on its own. Don't ask for any more details. It does no good. You simply have to learn what a "swing" feels like and then swing as many times as it takes for it to come to you. It is the same way learning to ride a bicycle just comes to you.....but....you had to ride a bike to get "it".

I have been following Emanuel instructions for months improved my game immensely most important change for me the ball is not the target my only swing thought is set it at the top then leave it alone my practice swing is throw club over right shoulder then brush grass and swing it over left shoulder a loose wrist and arms is important my ball striking is like something I've never experienced before sure sometimes my old casting swing creeps in but now I can on course correct with a practice swing this swing I can play for the rest of my golfing career

Manuel never says to “hit” anything - he talks about what to do with the club. The forward swing is initiated by the upper arms in the direction of the target. This doesn’t mean that you hold back the use of other parts and “hit” with your upper arms, which would be a misconception. Think carefully about it means to initiate a motion with a body part versus responding to the motion of a swinging club.

Almost all of Lee Trevino's advice seems to be, "Put the ball back a little in your stance and HIT DOWN ON THE BALL." so who the hell do you believe? Golf instruction, contradictory since ever.

I'll believe this man who was a great teacher. I love Trevino but he played a different way. Besides, that old tip "hit down on the ball" is a wrong concept. The club is up in the air at the top of the back swing, you have to hit down! Just don't try to lift the ball up. Let the loft of the club do the work.

"put it back a little". He was referring mainly to wedge shots. He never says to hit down on a driver for example. I take you don't play much golf.

@@patricklee780 Yes, Lee does, and there's ample evidence on KZfaq of him saying exactly that, with fairway woods. I've been playing golf since 1982, I take it you're new to computing and the internet.

@@GreenDistantStar Once again, he never says to hit down on a driver, not one time. I have no problem with Lee saying to hit down on a fairway wood if the individual is topping. It has a lot to do with how you are striking the ball on a particular day. I've been playing since 1964, so I think I've learned a thing or two. For example, some days I play better with an open stance, other days relatively square to the target. But Manuel de la Torre was a great player and instructor. However, you can learn something from any good/great player. Ultimately, though it takes a lot of work and it's up to the individual to find what works best.

This is great, but, I’m kind of fixated on what the hell that kid in the white shirt is doing behind Manuel. Very distracting.
