I have a theory when B Carmine died it traumatized Marcus pretty hard. Like he promised him they would see the surface. In Gears 3 he even had nightmares of him and his brother. RIP B Carmine. You gotta add their deaths in. Gotta keep editing, the Carmines was the one of the reasons why Marcus hated the war because they were just kids.

Gear of war universe is so sad

He lost his best friend and father in the same day.. after fighting for decades & being imprisoned and fighting through it even more, he's a warrior that's certainly grown subtly into a compassionate warrior and father.

I think doms whole reason for fighting as hard as he did was because he was looking for Maria. After that incident in gears 2 he had nothing to live for and even though saving everyone he found a way out in gears 3 and he took it.

Marcus is one of the best characters ever created easily in the top 5 all time characters period his story is one of loss (depending on choice in gears 5 ) what I think makes him great is he has a similar story to kraots from god of war

I think gears shines at making the characters feel real. There ramble, there friendship, and sad moments, great voice acting. They all seem like totally real people

I can’t count the amount of times this series has made me emotional. One of the most underrated game series in gaming history, people don’t give it enough credit. The best shooter series and the most emotional i’ve ever played through. It’s story still continues to amaze me after experiencing it all so many times. These three were the most memorable death scenes to me.. Ben’s death. Dom’s death. Adam and Myrah’s deaths.

This is exactly why Marcus Fenix is one legendary character, truly has suffered so much game after game and continues to push on. I can't wait till he finally has his peace

Dude the part that almost makes me cry everytime is when dom finds his wife all messed up from the locust and he is so sad by all that work and hope to find her was just shattered and for nothing. Gears of War 2 really hit you in the feels just like the rest of the series

What was sort of funny in gears 5 was that when Marcus loses his son, he's quietly just saying "Oh no, that sucks" But 10 minutes later when he thinks Coal train dies he's freaking out with more emotion on his face Poor James

Nobody talks about Marcus's reaction to Kim's death. I always got the feeling that Marcus hated Kim for being so by the book, but at the same time, seeing Marcus's expression when Kim died, I dunno. It makes it seem like Marcus really respected Kim a lot despite their differences. Almost like Marcus didn't really mind Kim's leadership style in the end. Sometimes I wonder how things would have went if Kim wasn't separated from Delta when the king raven crashed. At the same time though, seeing how Kim wanted revenge on Raam for killing Alicia, and then getting killed the exact same way, it makes it even sadder. I really liked Kim.

Not only am I reminded how awesome Dom is as a character, I realized Adam Fenix is not only Ryan Cranston, but JD looks more like his grandfather than he does Marcus. I didn't realize how fucking awesome this franchise is until now, even though it's one of the core games of my childhood and I always loved it.
