This clip is such a time capsule. Marina Sirtis is (was & always shall be) brilliant. She's great at her craft, but other peoples words seldom do justice to her wit and personality. Catch any interview clip (con clips more than polished media appearances) and see her truly shine. She is seriously underrated. If SHE had her own talk show, she'd slay.

She married a rock band drummer during the course of the show, probably in '91. She was fortunate to have a pushy agent. A Star Trek convention made a music video of her. It was set to "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" by The Police.

Marina Sirtis married a rock band drummer when Star Trek: TNG was still on the airwaves. Maria Sirtis said that when she was an aspiring actress, she was fortunate to have a pushy agent to get her jobs. During a Star Trek Convention, they played a music video set to the song, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic". It was a music video of Counselor Troi. Clear now?

That is sad. I have heard the Entertainment Field can be very harsh. A actress can be a star at one point in her life, and then become a washed-up loser later on. Hopefully she won't wind up overdosing on drugs like Dana Plato did. :(

Well Marina said that at the time of this interview that she'd been in america for three years. so that would make the date of this interview around 1990 when TNG was between its third and fourth seasons.

I did a little research. According to IMDB his show premiered on Jan. 3, 1989. He says during the interview that the show has been on a little over two years. That would make it early 1991.

@jamesmcburnie: "Menage a Troi". One of my favorites! I couldn't help but notice that when Arsenio introduced Marina, he called her character "Dina" instead of "Deanna". Wouldn't it be funny if that's where they got the idea from to have Zefram Cochrane call her "Dina" in "First Contact"! :)

Certainly she is lovely English-raised Greek woman, nevertheless she is much more immediately charismatic in character than in real life. Her talent is really enormous to produce her accent and embody so much authenticity in her role.

I always had a crush on her. Her real accent early in her career was hard to understand. Just like Olivia Newton John. Google clips of 1st acceptance speech, couldn't understand a word. Like Marina said, she didn't speak the Queens English. It's different.

In the first season she often said the line, "Captain, he's hiding something." In retrospect, that was a pretty stupid line. One time an outtake went like this: PICARD: "Counselor, what do you sense?" TROI: "Captain, he's hiding something." PICARD: "I can see that, you stupid cow! Why don't you tell me something I don't already know!" TROI: "Hey, I don't write the script, I just say the lines!"

That may be unverifiable and possibly a joke. I didn't see the actual outtake and often, cast members make stuff up as a joking jab at other cast members.

It is unverifiable. I just remember her telling that story from word of mouth. And it is possible that my recollection may be flawed. I heard it back in the early 90s.

You should have seen her in person. I was amazed, first because she was so tiny, second by how fast she talked in her natural almost cockney style. Her eyes.....The silky low cut camisole and short skirt didn't hurt either. I was her escort a few times at Delecon One. I got to touch her, she's quite playful. Once, in a hallway waiting for a cue to enter, I even got an up and down look from her with a slight smile and sparkle that told me...right circumstances...yeah. Of course those circumstances never came about....(sigh)...poor girl. Hahahahah!
