Great Shooting! We just shot our 6.5 out to 2500 yards on an IPSC target. We had a user tag your video on ours and we loved it. We haven't found anyone shooting 2500+ with 6.5 Creedmoor and we took it as a challenge. We would love to send you a box of our projectiles as a congrats on a successful extreme long range shot.

I received your v2 rear base Thursday and got to take it out this morning. I’m very happy with it. It made it much easier to get on and stay on target. It’s much heavier duty than I expected and that was a nice surprise. I do think it would be cool if it had your logo and website on there even if it’s only a sticker. I’m definitely a happy customer!

Great vid! Your really stretching this caliber out. I have a question for you if your up to it: do you find when shooting beyond the transonic range at ULR's that the lighter, heavier, or medium weight bullets stabilize and hold more true to accuracy? I've been researching this question for load development for ULR and so far I'm finding that it may be advantageous to load medium weight bullets over the heavier ones like 147 ELD
@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, you need moderately heavy projectiles to shoot ELR, but then there are many details, we have some videos on some points in the topic. Real way to work out what you need is to start at a distance you know and build up, 1000, 1300, 1600, 1800, 2000 and so on, there are way more challenges than just bullet weight, Cheers

great video, thanks for sharing. I'm wondering though, weren't u concerned with vertical stringing from so many rounds in such a short time? I know my cheap Remington 6.5 CM bull barrel after maybe 5-6 shots will heat up creep on me. I'd assume at 2500+ that would be substantial, no?

@markandsamafterwork
@markandsamafterwork 6 жыл бұрын
Not sure about OCD, but this stuff takes a mix of extreme attention to detail combined with some thinking outside the box and the ability to predict/extrapolate what the wind will do in the near future all while staying on song though out, takes a good spotter too, Cheers

A2209 is comparable to IMR 4350 in the states. I use H4350 for my 260, which is supposedly more temperature stable and gives a tad more muzzle velocity over the IMR 4350. However, H4350 over here is also known as "unobtainium". As it's hard to find.

Armymi33 1K is remarkably easy wish this round. Usually about 7.5 to 8 mils of elevation and 3/4 to 1 mil of windage and that’s about it. I’ve had multiple friends, that have never shot long range before, ring 1K yard steel on their first shot with my little 6.5 Creedmoor.

Do yall have a bunch of geese over there??? While you was at the target I couldn't tell if that was wind or geese in the background going crazy. @@markandsamafterwork OK so nothing insanely fast.... I am going to be attempting 2000 yards next month, I have always used the 147gr from hornady because of the .697 BC. I see you are using the Berger 140 hybrids. Do you find the berger 140s work better for elr, than the 147eldms? If so why? I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to respond to me, thanks Mark/Sam.

Because sometimes the actual bc is not always the same as the advertised bc, I found those Berger's more efficient out there than the Hornady's, Cheers Cheers

Thank you, and I'm sorry, did not see the description before. I doo understand that you've got 60 MoA's of elevation out of your rail and the scope rings. Is that right? Tell me last thing please cause I'm preparing a setup of my Howa. Up to how far range could I aproximadetely reach out just with the 20 MoA base rail, and let's say same scope?

8.5x 😐 on 4x at 55yrds my crosshair is almost as thick as a lolly stick, at that range i thought you would be using 20x plus...why do companys give such high mag when its never used ? my airgun sight from hawke is 6-24x50 and designed for air rifles but trying to use 24x is absolutely impossible even with a really good trigger , most i use is 8 - 10x . does anyone ever use the max on the higher powered sights ? 🙂👍

Wait until you shoot long range or precision, we normally use 15x out to over 2000 yards, but when shooting groups at 100 yards it nice to use 25x if you have it, Cheers

1/2''group @55yrd is considered far for a 11ftlb .177 air rifle ☹ 😆.. ive actually seen you use my sight on a .22lr a while back if you still have it would you be intrested in doing a comparison vid between a few hundred £ sighth and one of your badass long range sights both on full mag...ive seen a few comparison vids before but all dont really gave a huge step up in price most £50 vs £200.. you can probably do a few hundred £ vs a few thousand £ test.. 🙂👍

Barry, I think the issue with the cheaper sights that I've found is that of accurate tracking. I have an 11 year old Nikko Stirling Nighteater that worked brillaintly on a Weihrauch HW100 PCP air rifle knocking down bunnies. For 100 yards on a .223 rifle, it also worked fine. At 300 meters, the glass clarity was pretty bad and it just didn't track accurately when adjusting wind and elevation. For my new Howa rig (6.5 Creedmoor APC) with Marks' muzzle brake and rear rest, I bought a Nightforce NXS. The tracking is excellent and the scope is really robust (good for a meathead like me!). Personally mate, comparing a few hundred buck scope to a couple of thousand dollar scope is just not worth the time. You can look up multiple online videos showing innaccuries in image quality, tracking and zero hold for cheap scopes. Still really like my cheapo Nikko though!

Other calibers can do it with better results but that was not the point of this. They are going to the absolute max of a specific caliber at which they can get hits on target.
