Walking is one of the best exercises you can use. Low chance of injury and doesn’t cause a lot of hunger cravings. This is very important as you approach 300+ lbs. Your knees will get destroyed very fast from running.

I truly appreciate this content. As another former fatty who is 100lbs lighter than I was at my heaviest, I agree with everything you are saying here. It’s taken me 17 years of actively training/dieting to figure out a lot of what you are saying here. I could add a few other things that have worked for me, but it’s a bit more nuanced recomp advice that may not apply to everyone. This is great info, thanks for sharing.

Dang Mark proves once again he’s one of the better communicators. I got Mark and the Mind Pump gang at the top. Everyone else offers good info but they get into way too much drama and bickering with each other for clicks. Mark is a man of the people.

Insulin resistance is a killer for me. I’m going carnivore with weight training. I’ve noticed I have more energy when I don’t eat. Fasting helps a lot

I also have gone carnivore. Check out Ben Bikman on insulin resistance and weight loss. He made a huge impact on my understanding of fat burning and health. 35lbs down now. Good luck!!! 🥩

Yes, anybody can lose weight resorting to extreme measures and fad diets. The major 🔑 is to find a way that sustainable that fits your lifestyle and goals long term.

I fully agree. When I see I have lost fat too fast in the mirror I decide I need to eat more the following days. Most people do the opposite because they get excited and wanna lose more fat. But losing fat is a huge stressor to your body as you mentioned. So you need to give the body a positive feedback for letting go of some of that fat. Thanks for the great advice

Abs are built in the gym, but revealed in the kitchen. Six pack = low body fat + hypertrophy of abdominal muscles. You need both, not one of the two. You need to train your abs hard in every training session and cut at the same time. Proper nutrition + smart training + supplements (if you've got the extra money) will get you there. Fix your diet first: cut out all junk / processed foods and start eating whole, nutrient-dense foods that support metabolic / gut health. Use progressive overload and focus on multi-joint exercises. Sit-ups, leg raises, and crunches are some of the best exercises for building the abs. If you are a lifter seriously interested in aesthetics / performance / strength, go study Old-School bodybuilding. Old-School bodybuilders were ingenious physique architects. They had a profound knowledge of the principles of proper nutrition, smart supplementation, exercise science, and muscle adaptability. Combining Old-School bodybuilding wisdom with modern, evidence-based science is the best, safest, most effective way to achieve a strong, sexy, healthy, and aesthetic physique. "Vintage Physique" by George Kelly is a nice read on the topic.

Not necessarily, they are revealed in the bedroom because you can get enough stimulus to movement and eat all of the right things that matches the mathematics of body recomposition, but if you aren't getting adequate sleep you're definitely slowing the process if not hindering the process. The abs are trained in the gym, they are refueled in the kitchen, and they are revealed after bed

You don't have to train abs or train at all to have a six pack though. I had one my entire life, except during my two pregnancies, and I didn't start weight training until I was 46 years old.
