If you told me a year ago I'd be filming a makeup tutorial I would be like yeah thats a pretty reasonable assumption
Hope this helps whoever needs it. Forgive me for the lighting.

I'm a trans mom of a trans son. He's been worried about masculinizing. (And hell, I have trouble with feminizing makeup for myself.) This will help. Thanks.

Trans girl here. So, for a natural feminine "no makeup" look, do I just do the opposite of everything in this mostly, swapping bronzer for highlighter & so on, and add light mascara? The idea of looking female without looking like you're obviously wearing heavy makeup (something that the transphobes at school would notice, yikes) like with this look but inverted is very appealing for a closeted bish like me. Thanks man!

Long-winded comment if you want some of my feminisation tips :o I don't contour my cheek bone, I find that ages me. I only contour the bottom of my jaw to give my face a shorter look. Bronzer around the forehead to shrink it if needed (blush in my case because I'm pale af) Contour beneath the lips to make them pop. Not really related to feminisation, but lip scrubs and lip balms are important. You can just scrub your lips with a wet toothbrush if you want to save money Put concealer and highlighter under your brow bone if it's pronounced tons of highlighter at the top of your cheek bones and then put blush on top of it so it'll just look like you have dewy soft skin naturally. I do the same with my nose, I put blush on my nose after highlighter. If you overline your top lip (less distance between your top lip and the tip of your nose is considered more feminine), it's a good idea to use a white eyeliner softly above it to kinda create a new lip border. blend it out and then put highlighter on top of it. Also I find making my top lip slightly darker than my bottom lip makes it look more natural for lifted, open and enlarged eyes, I put concealer on my lid, use brown eyeshadow to deepen my crease, brown eyeshadow beneath my bottom eye sockets to make them appear pronounced, I only start my eyeliner in the middle of my eye so there appears to be more distance between them (wide-set eyes is feminine), I use white eyeliner on the bottom waterline and a little bit on the inner corner of my eyes (blending it on the inner corner) and then use highlighter on the inner corners and on my eyelids. I put some eyeliner underneath my bottom lashes and then blend it until there's no harsh line and finally I use lashes on the outer half of my eye to lift the corners (cut them until they take up just over half of your eye)

oh, and I have a mole above my lips. After foundation I put a bit of black eyeliner where that mole was and tap it in with my finger. It distracts from the fact that you have foundation on. If you have any markings like that, use it to your advantage
@sweetyft
@sweetyft 4 жыл бұрын
To add to what Manayis was saying, I’d recommend, if you can, to invest in a good eyelash curler (unless you’re blessed with amazing curled eyelashes). That will go a long way to open up your eyes and give them a doll like look that will look more natural than a tone of mascara (if that’s the look you’re going for). Also, you didn’t tell us your skin tone and I’m not sure how it would translate on darker skin tones but maybe you could look into «glass skin» makeup tutorials as it’s about giving a feminine and youthful appearance to the face with minimal makeup (lots of highlights and blush) I guess I should postface that by saying I’m a cis woman so I’m not really qualified in feminizing makeup but I think I’m pretty good at changing my face with makeup.

This is the least important thing but duuuuuuuude I wish I'd had this back when I was playing a ton of pants roles and was just kinda flailing like "aaaaaah just, like, less makeup, but I probably still need foundation, um, brown eyeliner instead of black I guess?" Absolutely bookmarking this for such time as that becomes a part of my life again.

It should be pointed out that feminine makeup has higher color contrasts in features than masculinizing makeup. So masculine is more evening out the colors and upping the sharpness of the bone structure, while feminine makeup makes lips and eyes stand out a lot more while making the bone structure smoother and more neotenous.

I loved this video. You explained everything so simply and without the need for 50000 different products. Plus because you explained what each separate but does I feel like I’d be able to mix and match in order to get the level of masc I want.

"we're not gonna do the bottom one cause it's not 2006" ouch 😃 well that's the only make up thing i actually like to do for that "emo boy" look, but it's true it is a bit last decade thanks for this video! i personally enjoy wearing mostly the "fun type" of make-up but i never wear it outside because, well, dysphoria. but it's cool to see that you can do it to actually make your face look really masculine. i think this wouldn't work for me personally because I don't have this much time every day in the morning, i touch my face All The Time, I'd be afraid that my classmates would notice that i'm wearing it and i'm simply too broke and the only make-up products i own are my sister's old eyeshadow palette and an old eyeliner pencil that i used to fill my brows and line my eyes with (while listening to dorian's guyliner, it's weird but that song actually made me feel a lot better about wearing make-up as a man) but i lost it somewhere so I don't even do that anymore, oof. but i'm glad this works/worked for you and i hope it will for other people as well! i'm hella excited for the next video essay, one of my fave youtubers talking about one of my favourite albums, that's the dream

I only recently came to the realisation that im trans-masc. i got bullied a lot for looking like a guy in school so it kinda made me try way too hard to pass as female,,, despite being AFAB. I've known I'm non-binary for like 10 years, but i was still stuck in the feminising mindset. Anyway, point is, I tried this and holy fucking balls I'm legit hot as hell. I've never felt comfortable with my face until now!! Thank you so much!!! I'm gonna start on T asap

Well I’m way behind, I didn’t know they did the bottom waterline (I believe that’s what it’s called) in 2006!!! I just started doing that a few years ago! Well actually since I was was about 12/13 and I got an eye pencil with a school magazine, but that was in 2010! Back then I put it on occasionally when I went to certain important events and sometimes just for fun. Mom hated it when I combined it with my red or orange lipstick, she said it made me look like a mime or like I just ate spaghetti and it stained my lips.

no cap if you wanna wear makeup go for it but never ever wear makeup if you want to pass as a man. people will notice. maybe fill in your eyebrows very subtly, though it isn't really necessary, but don't try to 'masculinize' your makeup trust me lads it doesn't work

like i'm very sorry but the man in this video looked more feminine at the end of the video than he did at the beginning. there is no way for you to not stand out in a crowd of cis men if you're wearing fucking makeup. it's just one of those things you have to learn as a young tran that you can't wear makeup or white shirts or talk in a feminine way if you want to pass. no offense though
@rob0tt4rmy
@rob0tt4rmy 4 жыл бұрын
Respectfully, I know what you're talking about, and yes sometimes people will be able to tell. But I didn't say it was for passing; I said it was for dysphoria management. I pass much better now that I've been on T for over a year and I never wear this makeup anymore. But it was never to look more like a man to other people. It was to help me see a man in the mirror.

Boyform i understand that, i just don't want people to think this'll help them pass in situations where they could be exposed to harassment or violence or just in their day to day life. i'm all for finding ways to relieve dysphoria though and i'm sure a lot of people are helped by this video and that's great :)
