The best episodes of "Match Game" were the ones where the contestants were on the ball and knew how to give answers that fit the scenarios that Gene Rayburn would give. ;D
@Noveltooner15 жыл бұрын
One of the best from the original "Match Game" in 1968 was when the question was "Name the most common ingredient in a salad other than dressing." Team captain Michael Landon gave the ridiculous answer "peanut" and his team matched across the board! Gene told the other team that if one more person answered "peanut," he'd quit on the spot. Needless to say, another "peanut" showed up, and Raybern swapped places with Johnny Olsen. Such spantaneous antics were typical in NBC Studio 8H in 1968-69.

Studio 8H is NBC's largest studio and is the home of "Saturday Night Live." Although 8G was "The Match Game's" regular studio, it occasionally shifted over to 8H. While shows did have their regular studio assignments, they occasionally shifted when their regular studios were used for seasonal sports shows or special news broadcasts. Even "Jeopardy!" moved up to 8H for some of its Tournament of Champion shows. During the 1960s, 8H was more popularly known as The Peacock Theatre.
