I never took it as those were previous version of Neo’s on the screen, just the architects way of showing Neo that he’s already thought of every possible reaction Neo could give. Almost taunting him so to speak that he’s superior to the One because he ‘made’ him and therefore has accounted for his every move. The monitors were just there to prove that point. At least in that particular scene. That’s how I took it anyways.

I agree, the architect can see all the potential reactions that Neo could have, but because of the free will element in the the matrix program, he has no way of knowing which one Neo will choose. An artful representation of the conflict between the will of the creator and the free will of humanity.

I imagine Zion like like mine craft. Only strictly conceptual and based for manipulation without total malice. I am basing this off a couple things; first went did the machines who were clearly mass producing human beings as batteries a.) Create humans with actual consciousness? It could serve no real purpose towards their own end goal, except if it was an unavoidable inevitability with humans. A fair amount if scientific study has proposed our consciousness as a byproduct of the vast amounts of energy involved with our brains functioning. So perhaps they couldn't control that. This all the other shenanigans. B.) Why even create bodies? Solipsism should and would have been a better option imo. A human psyche exposed to the final truth of their existence would most likely be maddening and if they even tried to tell anyone they probably would just have been ignored and presumed insane. Thus being easier to sort of factory reset once that occurred. I.e. they go crazy get shipped to an asylum and we're later deemed well again and reinserted into the main frame. Humanity would see it as a miracle of modern psychology and become more docile. & c.) Why create a way for them to even be removed from the matrix? This goes back to the solipsism bit. Sort of. If they were created generationally or whatever they could just be brains in vats; the waste disposal process alone would make more sense. Also what sense is there in loyalty providing the means of their escape?...... which leads me to the other part I wanna talk about ; the real world and Zion. I think no one actually escaped as the real world was just a different aspect of the larger matrix. A major point that always confused me was how Smith possessed a human body. I don't buy into the whole, he became a virus bs cause it would mean he totally overrode the already existing human conscious with basically a screwed up Norton program. It works in the matrix program if everyone was just like sentient AI; cause it would be like installing a new OS over a corrupted or ruined one on your laptop etc. It makes no sense though in regards to an actual functioning human body. Imo Regardless the real world and Zion were most likely distractions to satiate those who thought they escaped and would begin producing more energy to fuel the machines as they thought they were being more active and productive fighting an imaginary war. It's also possible the real world we saw was so horrible so as once seen by the red pilled it would terrify them into wanting to return to the matrix. It's worth mentioning but probably is really a nonpoint but why would the machines leave the world they now inhabited and ruled such trash? Maybe they just didn't care but were they really ever sentient if they did not have interest in aesthetics? The real world and Zion tbh feel more like a cruel joke. Anyway I've ranted long enough. The cool thing is that the actual Neo, out of all the possibilities, is the one that turns back and looks at himself, at what he could have done. A strong reference to the motto "Know thyself" written in the Oracle's house and to the problem of choice, Neo is different from all other Ones because he takes the imperative of reflecting on himself and his choices very seriously.

There have been other versions of NEO, but when he talks to the Architect and you see all those screens with different NEO's they are not different versions. Neo's mind is being read and all his emotions are being projected on to each screen. That's why the Architect made the statement, "It's interesting reading your reactions".

Two things: Yes, the screens are predictions by the architect. They are also a type of monitoring system as to how much control the architect has lost over the anomaly. When the interrogation screens are first watched by the architect, the Mr Andersons are all in sync, as his level of personal freedom of choice is nil. The screens are predictors, but have also become a sign to the architect that the systemic problem of choice has reached a point almost beyond his control, and is a sign that the matrix must be reaching the end of another anomaly. Because if it were to be unchecked, he (the architect) would lose control... his ability to predict..

The Matrix Reloaded had a very interesting message about multi-core processing. In the first fight scene between Neo and the three agents, each agent says a part of the sentence, pauses while the next one talks. This represents a context switch on a processor with a single core, each process waits for the other to do its computation on its time slice. The Matrix was becoming a concurrent system, ergo, an "upgrade". The Neo that came back to life was part human, part machine (due to the kiss from Trinity which gave him the Machine (or the Human?) Holly spirit). Neo became a true parallel processing "wetware computer" - the screen room looks like a processor too, each screen could represent a thread or process. "Interesting, that was faster than the others" - the architect was realising the oracle had a point, the only way forward is "together". This was true genius from the Wachowskis to bring back the original concept - it was "just" a fight scene. This franchise is so meticulously put together. I cannot give these films enough credit.

@henktank1633

@@cantcatchzoom19 Because Neo was never human. He was a program from the start. Hence why when he died in the real world he went to the subway station because he chose not to return to the source. Its hinted throughout the movie that programs can feel love, emotions etc. Agent smith becomes a human when he absorbes a dude (forgot his name). Neo was the algomation of the anomaly not the true anomaly itself. The anomoly is the 1% of people refusing the program. The oracle is a program wich made smith and Neo, to be the form of controle over the 1%. Because they all follow Neo and believe in him. He is not allowed to know this truth. He is a sort of hybrid. Hence why no other human can dodge bullets like the agents can. Its not enough to simply dismiss reality. Otherwise more people would have had ability's like Neo. Ofcourse this is ignoring the extended lore wich by my knowledge is not cannon. As per the video game mmo etc. Machines learning and adapting is its core so the journey of Neo is still the same regardless. Anyway this is a *theory* but it has significant evidence in the Subway scene and him entering the matrix unplugged via death experience. Otherwise there is no explanation as to why Neo can access this. Aside from the all worlds are fake theory.
@kiljupullo
@kiljupullo 3 жыл бұрын
Actually the anomaly is Smith, who became part human due being in contact with Neo. Neo is integral anomaly, Smith is the anomaly. Do notice that smith and neo can traverse between worlds. They are actually one and the same, but split up anomaly, because if the architect did not split the anomaly into pieces, the matrix would collapse, thus creating a sort of janus by creating Neo and Smith to keep the matrix intact. Both of them visit Oracle aswell, manipulated by oracle. The Smith was gaining its sovereignty in the last matrix, so machines killed trinity in order to use Neo to kill Smith. Unstoppable force met immovable object, thus both were obliterated by their own opposing codes from the anomaly. That code was what restarted the matrix (because creating another matrix from scratch would be too high-cost). Neo was a tool, smith was becoming more and more human to the end, his last sentence was infantilism, a person who just understood what he had done for the first time. Besides, the anomaly was hinted when morpheus told that there were a firstborn (human) in matrix who could mold matrix to his will, this was the anomaly that architect was trying to get rid of and he succeeded by the help of the oracle. Architect tried to kill the anomaly 6 times, and generalization did not help him. 5 other times killed the other part of the anomaly(pre-smith), rendering other useless (merovingian etc). Personalization oth the both sides from the divinated anomaly did eliminate both, thus code was injected successfully and the architect appears as smugly as he could and congratulates Oracle (his own invention) for breaking the anomaly. Do note that Smith knows Architect and Oracle personally, this compicates the computation even further since they cannot attack anomaly head on, thus they have to create an elaboratred hoax and fake alliance in order to make Smith surrender itself to the source. I'm really exited what the 4 matrix will hold, since matrix 3 it actually did solve the anomaly.

I never even considered for a second what was the meaning of those TV screens in this scene. I was kept too busy and baffled by the architect's verbosity and over-the-top, vocabulary-infused speech. But I think the theory that the screens represent the architect's calculation of possible responses/outcomes makes the most sense to me. Its similar to how powerful chess-playing computer engines calculate and determine the best moves in a position. Each time Neo makes a response, it is used by the architect program to 'narrow' and improve the prediction algorithm since more data is being fed into its machinations. Brilliant stuff, I'm enjoying these matrix explained videos. I'm now really looking forward to Matrix 4, if it does get made.

If Zion exists INSIDE the Matrix giving a false choice to the rebel minded, and Neo is a program manifesting the Matrix anomaly, that makes it obvious why he looks the same. Also it explains ALL the other paradoxes. The stupid "battery" thing, the stupid "scorched sky" thing, Agent Smith "leaving" the Matrix, Neo having powers "outside" the matrix. It puts the whole world in a frame where everything what seemed to be a plothole suddenly makes perfect sense.
@nicadi2005
@nicadi2005 3 жыл бұрын
@meleardil "The stupid "battery" thing" - That is a very weak plot point affecting entire franchise, to explain away the obvious choice, given the fact they are in a state of total war, for the machines of exterminating the human species (can't do that, if you need them to survive yourself). Yes, it's true the human body produces some electricity and some (more) heat, but these are merely BYPRODUCTS of its true function - which is to stay alive. Our bodies can generate somewhat impressive amounts of energy, but also consume almost equally impressive amounts of it as well, in order to grow, develop, repair and defend themselves. It is simply NOT possible to capture these byproducts and use them to carry out useful work. Besides, there are much more efficient means of energy production the advanced machines in the Matrix Universe could employ with significantly less hassle - e.g. nuclear and geothermal power immediately come to mind. Also, the "scorched sky" is basically just very thick smog in the upper atmosphere, preventing the sunlight from reaching the planet's surface; however, above that, one can see the there's NOTHING wrong with the sun itself, as it still continues to shine. Large solar panel satellites could be deployed in geostationary orbits over the day-side of the planet to collect as much energy from the sun as needed and have it transmitted to special receiver facilities on the surface, as concentrated maser pulses. Just an example...

@@kevinfontan6404 I definitely agree on the aspect of Zion being another layer of the Matrix, but there's problems with your human usage analsys. Let's start by assuming the humans as batteries concept was legitimate. Humans would need their consciousness because roughly 1/3 of sugar intake goes to the brain. The brain produces a lot of heat and is effectively the source of a notable proportion of the power humans would provide. I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly on the solipsism aspect, but I assume you mean one of 2 things. I'm not sure which one, but it's a heady topic so no shade thrown for having trouble clearly articulating it. A) Each person should effectively have their own instance of the Matrix. They would effectively be the only real mind in their own world. This would take insanely more processing, possibly in the scope of a Matrioshka brain level of processing, thereby defeating the purpose of using humans as a power source. Even advanced individual psychiatric reprogramming of massive portions of the population would be too processing heavy (energy intensive) to be justifiable. B) That the existence of humans in the Matrix need not be based around human body avatars within. The trouble with this connects to the necessity for, and simultaneously the failings of, human consciousness. No matter how technologically advanced we've become, our brain is still that of a primitive hunter gatherer. We are instinctively hardwired to certain activities and trying to tie those to any other shape, or even the absence of form, could likely result in insanity. That insanity might be able to countered with advanced training by the AI of the Matrix, but the trial and error to accomplish that would likely result in countless wasted humans and would not be as efficient of a use of resources from the perspective of the AI. I also have a hard time thinking the AI would use a cloning program as much as they would artificially grow infants from combining their in-Matrix parents DNA to ensure the subconscious aspects of child identification didn't cause disruptive effects to the stability of the Matrix. The Matrix needs to pander to that primitive hunter gatherer brain, and even subconscious suspicion that their child is not their own might clash with the stability of the Matrix. When talking about the notion of the "real world" being another level of the Matrix, I tend to refer to the layers as green layer and gold layer, in reference to the color of the code. The green layer is orderly and gratifies most people's need for a structured and predictable life. The gold layer is the more sophisticated level that's used to round up the trouble makers and deviants. The thousands of individuals that can't accept the orderly nature of the green layer, for their sake the gold layer looks like garbage. It's not to scare people back in, but to entice those that need to believe that reality is chaotic and need to see a world that matches their psychological expectations. The gold layer is likely more process intensive than the green layer, but the thousand that reside there are not a trivial amount of power. It's even plausible that their abstractness might make them more valuable to power production per individual than those in the green layer when accounting for adrenaline and such. It's also likely that the gold layer is designed as a place for the sentient AIs to reside, using less power living in a sophisticated simulation that appeals to their nature than to actually have thousands of robotic bodies in the real world outside of all layers of the Matrix. It doesn't really hurt anything for the AI's to share their layer with humans, as long as the power output of the people of Zion is net positive. That also means that clearing out Zion is like an economic crash in regards to their power economy. Oops, I did really long one.

I always thought they were simulated responses, not previous responses. I didn't quite think they were 'predictions' so much as just every simulated response that made sense at the time. It's interesting to think it's the real-time processing of the architect, predicting Neo's actions/responses and processing further getting closer to reality as it occurs then resting on the answer before he makes it. It makes the architect much more of an interesting character, and it makes this movie less 'out of left field' when we tie it back to the first movie. Really good analysis! Glad i subscribed! I think I would pick the red pill just because I've always felt the same way most people do-- that universal paranoia that things just can't be like this... They just don't align or add up. This universal human confusions of reality that seems specific to me can't be evolutionary, as it's not helpful to any species to be confused about reality. Curiosity aside, there are many who can function and work and even be inquisitive in order to find the secrets of science and technology but still feel that they belong. But this feeling seems to be artificial to me... It seems like it was placed there by something foreign, and if I just was able to reach my hand outward, and grab onto it, and rip a small whole in the fabric around me, I'd be able to get a small peek into what was really going on... even if it was horrible. So I'd have to take the red pill... assuming I didn't know what it all was.. I'd forever wander, and I'd have to eventually recognize that I gave up the one chance for the true answers. If I did know what it was, then I'd be satisfied to know that at random times (at least if I was on a ship) I could return to the matrix and try my hand at bending reality now and then, even if I might end up dying because of it. Either way, Knowing the truth, and dying for it, to me is better than being stuck and unable to make sense of the world I'm in. Thank you for making these videos and working on the channel. Much appreciated.

While you only asked him to Actually pick a number 6 times so far... if you're Really good at guessing, and Really good at simulating, you could... He saw how the First Neo acted, and made predictions about the second.. he Saw how the Second neo acted, and he had more patterns and more predictable behavior... So when the Third Neo came around, he was better equipped to handle it, and could run more simulations... once he got down to the 6th Neo, he could basically predict all the possible responses Neo could make, and then boil it down to just one option, the option Neo chooses. Yea I always saw them as neos inner thoughts and reactions. He was takin in a lot of info so he had many thoughts and feelings. I've always thought those are just the other possible outcomes of that very conversation, it's like the present Neo's thinking process or a probability monitor. Also like to point out that all those monitors show the same amount of monitors in them, with the same amount of Neo's in them, there for it can't be previous versions of Neo, since the first version that came into this room won't have anything to show in he's monitors, i.e. there has to be one monitor that shows just Neo without monitors behind him. But that's not the case.

I've got to say, that is very insightful/logical thinking. I would be mad at myself for not thinking that one up first, but odds are, I wasn't going to pull off what you just did. What you're saying makes a lot of sense, bc mathematically at some point the amount of thoughts and possibilities would change. Yet, they never do. So for it to be previous versions of Neo would be unbelievably convenient. It would be more likely that it is a thinking process, which in reality is a probability monitor. In other words, nice work! As was suggested in the video, I interpreted the scene as meaning that the architect has calculated every possible reaction Neo might have, and each time it focuses in on a specific screen it's basically showing which possibility manifested. It's basically how collapsing a wave function works in quantum mechanics. All possibilities exist until one is observed, then it becomes the only one.

Since Smith is part of the Matrix, the Architect predicted that he would go rouge and that the only way to stop him is merging him with the One code. Therefore, the Architect knew he eventually needed to make a pact with the humans in order for Neo to help them get rid of Smith. He also predicted, judging on the actions of Cypher and probably many others like him before, that even if the humans were released from the Matrix, many of them would choose the blue pill and ask to be put back with benefits, I know I would.

Choices - the whole scene/film is about Neo's choices. It's also interesting because in the first film Neo is desperately trying to live up to his destiny, but in this film Neo is trying to make his own destiny and become "freed", kinda like how Smith says thank you at the beginning for freeing him. The architect says "It is inevitable, she will die" (I mean she does in revolutions but lets just look at Reloaded), but Neo bends time and space to restart her heart with his bare hands. He makes his own destiny.

Djinn Umoya Good question. The answer is that the theories are not necessarily in opposition to each other. For example, some theoretical physicists believe that the force of gravity is weak in our reality because much of it is escaping into another dimension. Some also believe that weakly interacting particles characterized as dark matter may have a different force and function in dimensions that we cannot perceive. Those dimensions could be part of a wholly different “reality”, and those weak interactions represent one bubble of the multiverse interacting with our bubble.

Your predictive algorithm is bang on point. On one of the other videos you showed the original opening scene where an anonymous person is typing some computer code. That code is actually a real Python module for training a machine learning dataset in classification. What's interesting is that your predictive algorithm analogy to explain this scene is very much in keeping with how training a data set works . In fact , the whole data set training construct can be used to theorise that Neo / The One is computer program that unbeknownst to him, is training (learning) some aspect of human behaviour that will be used to solve the anomaly . His re-absorption into the main code can be thought of as integrating the results of training a dataset. You will find that Matrix 4 will be very "Big data" today's world AI heavy in its content. What is even more impressive in your analysis is that you very accurately described another modern world AI construct : computer vision. Again, computers use another subset of AI predictive heuristics to see objects . They are not actually seeing the object, they are predicting what the object is most likely to be. Today, the technology is used to predict emotion in human faces among other things.

The power of love was irrational and beyond his calculation. It makes the most sense that the screens are predictive permutations of the conversation. 90's AI, such as the chess AI mentioned, did brute force calculations of all permutations to analyze the most probable outcome. Basing it on contemporary AI would be so different because that methodology is not used by neural networks. They're more... crazy. Though it made for an excellent visual experience far more than any attempt to simulate contemporary AI could.
