The combat in this game was nuts. Pretty sure there was an achievement for getting a 500 hit combo. Also, evil Peter was so cartoonish it was great.

This game introduced me to Moon Knight and that’s just fine.

This game was so Prototype to me (even though Prototype plays more like a Hulk game). Seriously, the plot is about biological threat taking over New York City; even the opening is pretty much the same.

I love this game so much. Yeah, the story, dialogues and characters are mediocre at best, but the gameplay is awesome.

I like how even with the black suit, Spidey is still a massive dork in this game.

I'm just saying... Spider-Man with Platinum level character action combat. Think about it.

This was the first game I every got truly excited for. I watched the trailers and followed it closely. I was just a kid at the time and when it finally came out I only had a ps2 so I got the other version. I was heartbroken. I looked around and found the PC version a few weeks later, but once again I wasnt able to play it because my parents desktop couldn't run it and it cost way too much to get the upgrades necessary to. When I finally got a ps3 in late 2009 it took me a few months of digging through bargain bins to finally get my hands on this game and by that point I had waited so long that I played it for like 2 days straight.

Something about the narration the voice actor for Spiderman in this game reminds me of Tidus from FFX. Not only does his voice sound similar in those instances, but even his intonation is similar.

This narration that Spidey does in Web of Shadows always gave me heavy Final Fantasy X Tidus vibes.

Up until Spider-Man PS4, this was the best game the webslinger had.

The late-game of this game reminds me of like... Prototype for some reason. Am I crazy?? Matt should play the Prototype games.

The Wii version is a fine port with a lot of advertisements for FIVE gum. MASSIVE graphical downgrades however. Web swinging was done by flicking the wiimote which felt oddly satisfying for some reason.

I have the Wii version, and it was actually a quite competent port. I never got to play the X360/PS4 for comparison, but from I've seen in your video, it was pretty much a 1:1 port (lower texture quality/reduced character polycount/slightly touchier framerate notwithstanding). Even the "spawning away" of civilians at 22:07, or the wacky physics around doors and bus stops, were also present in the Wii version.

The story and voice acting weren’t good but the stuff I loved in this game is the combat, boss fights, suit switching, ally support, and the inclusion of other marvel heroes. I liked it and for the time was a pretty good game until others.

Spider-man can totally lift a car without the black suit. Even the weakest incarnations of 616 Peter are usually multi-tonners.

I collected every goddamn Spider Token in this game. I don't know why, but I did.

Whether you're a fan of Josh Keaton's Spidey or Yuri Lowenthal's, I think we can all agree that they both beat the absolute crap out of this performance. No offense to the actor, of course, but definite offense to the voice and/or casting director.

As for Moon Knight comics, all of his recent series have been good. The Jeff Lemire/Greg Smallwood series, the Warren Ellis/Declan Shalvey arc, even the Max Bemis series (although that takes a little while to get going.) If I had to recommend only one, I'd say check out the Lemire/Smallwood series

What I got from this game: I love how the web is all loose and then takes a sec to snap and tense when it reaches it's destination, that's a cool effect for sure. Combat also looks nuts.

Fun fact there’s a new game plus mode technically it’s a glitch in the system if you want to learn more look up a video on it but it basically lets you start the game over with all upgrades already purchased or what you already purchased. And if you collected every spider token in the game you’ll still have all of them.

Other than Spidermans voice in this game, I LOVED this game! I beat it twice. Once all good outcomes and the other with villain outcomes. I miss Marvel just making videogames like this with a ton of cameos and craziness. The last 3 hours of the game is absolute comic book madness and it's great! All of NYC is a literal warzone! It's Superheroes, cops, gangsters, and mercenaries fighting for their lives against all NYC civilians turned Symbiotes! Combat is on ground, air, and even the walls and windows of all the sky scrapers

Thank you for finally showing me Moon Knight in this game! I was always vaguely interested in it after finding out Moonie made an appearance. Too bad it's the version/personality that's a bit of a zealot for his god. I can definitely give you good recommendations for comics tho. To keep you reading, in the 2006 resurrection, he *carves a guy's face off (no spoilers) and then wears it as a mask in the bathroom*. Does that qualify him for edgelord status? Moonie actually started off in the era of Marvel where Superheroes occupied their own worlds. He was originally a Van Helsing-like werewolf hunter in the comic Werewolf by Night. The only thing you need to know about the singular issue is that Moon Knight is no stranger to mercenary work. This Van Helsing-archetype was what defined his early villains. (#1-38) The entire original run is full of great issues. Once the crossovers start happening, aside from a few fun crossovers (including a 3-part reoccurring crossover with the Punisher that is integral to Moon Knight's character history) there's not too many memorable issues. They jump the shark really hard during the era where every Marvel character was a bulky mass of muscles (1989-1994), and pull a buncha bullshit that isn't really considered canon anymore before killing Moonie. You could give it a shot, but feel free to skip it once you've had enough. They also have a few skippable mini-series unless you're really in. Then the resurrection of the series in 2006 was AWESOME. He carves off a dude's face! I kept up with it until the Secret Avengers stuff, but that's mostly because I fell out of monthly comics at that point. New 52 and various other "Lore restructuring" decisions gave me a harsh reality check on the true nature of comics so I've been keeping away since. I hear the occasional good thing though. I could do a whole video on him, if I thought it was worth the effort. I'm sure there's already a Moon Knight superfan out there somewhere on KZfaq...

This game treated Venom more as Carnage. The writers either wanted to have fun or didn’t understand Venoms character. He’s not evil, he just runs on double hate for Spider-Man but gets over it within time and becomes the lethal protector. Even Brock gets over it. They either saw the character of carnage or Mac Gargan, used that to make him or didn’t get him

Playing Spider-Man 2 while watching this is deeply surreal.

The wii version used motion controls flicks with the remote and nunchucks i vaguely recall thwip sfx would come out of the remote speaker.

Holy moly, the voice acting is.... something else.

Finding Shield Soldiers fighting the Infected in the city was amazing. Plus seeing them get infected was godly for me!

this is impossibly late, but the recent short Moon Knight run by Max Bemis is really good

Spiderman normally has the ability to lift up to 15 tons, after he died and was resurrected by the Spider Totem God he went up to 25 tons until that was retconned. So I assume that Spidey can lift cars and throw them, but not as far as his symbiote suit version and normally uses his web to start up the lift and use momentum to throw it farther.

Damn man, so glad to see you play this game, it's honestly one of the best spiderman games out there imo

At the time of its announcement, I was all about this game, then... I played this, and it was SOOOO mediocre. The most common pronunciation for Symbiotes is "SYM-BEE-UTS" hearing it as "SYM-(BEE) BYE-OTS" is like nails on a chalkboard. Spider-Man can lift around 10 tons, so a small car shouldn't be much of a problem for him. Black Cat is voiced by Trica Helfer in this, she reprises her role in Spectacular Spider-Man.

Man I must have terrible taste in games because this was probably my favorite Spiderman game of all time. I still think I have a copy since I remember not being willing to trade it in or throw it out.

The Moon Knight comic in 2006 was great. I think the arc was called “The Bottom.” At one point he fights Taskmaster and causes him to basically shit himself out of fear.

Moon Knight is awesome, it's Batman if instead of "almost crazy, if I kill someone I would fall into the darkside" he was actually crazy. To start, he supposedly has powers from the egyptian moon god Khonsu (with various instances of superpowers or divine intervention) but he's not sure wheter Khonsu does exist or he imagines him and the powers are just his. He also has a lot of identities, to the point of getting into multiple personality disorder. And yeah, he kills people.

I played a LOT of this games I’ll just go swinging and collecting tokens for hours when I finally beat the game I was very overpowered I loved the introduction of another heroes like moon knight and obviously Wolverine

I first played the game on the Wii. I didn't like it much because of the controls. I got it it for the Xbox 360 and I had alot more fun. I played through the game several times. I keep playing it mainly for the same reason why I keep playing Infamous 2. Because I can pick up a car and through it and people... and the enemies. And also murdering of people. I would just go around looking for enemies to either throw cars at them or looking for them on the rooftops and then trying my best to knock them off, which was surprisingly easy. No invisible walls, no being webbed to the wall of the building. And also I like the destructible environment. The combat was fun if you're not playing it on the Wii.
