Today we explore another uninhabited island from a private boat dock.
DISCLAIMER
In this video i flew outside of VLOS or visual line of sight, during the time of filming i was unaware of this is an FAA violation. All flights from now on will take place within VLOS. Do not attempt to recreate this flight. Thank you.

Not only great video, but also good example of safe flying skills by taking the time to do all preflight precautions to complete smooth and successful flights everytime. This makes stress free watching videos. Almost like the Bob Ross of the drones...😁

The little Mavic Mini is a drone force to be reckoned with. Especially now with the new firmware upgrade for manual adjustments to video. It would be hard to justify spending more than $500 on a drone anymore with this little guy. It's not far from being able to record movie-quality video. Excellent flight man!

It IS boring, when you consider the possibilities and other optiions available here on KZfaq. How long can you watch a clump of trees surrounded by water, at 200 feet? There is so much variety and detail to be seen along these waters, while this guy takes the easy route, staying above i,t while "droneing' on (visually and verbally), and displaying very little piloting and zero editing skills. Your girlfriend, who rightfully expects more, speaks the truth! He gets a C- for effort and creativity.

You know, just thought of something as you were walking on the pier. I don't remember if the controller has a place for a lanyard to be secured, but I was thinking I could potentially drop my controller off the pier into the waters, scary thought, speaking for myself. I might consider looking for an aftermarket lanyard holder or such... Great video, Tnx for the pics and info as always!

Nice flight! I have trouble getting my Mini past around 2000 feet. I might try the range extenders when things get back to normal.

Range extenders won't give you that much of a boost tho. The reason why you can't take it far is cause you're on CE mode. Which is the Wi-Fi transmission band outside of the US... US uses a Wi-Fi transmission band called FCC. Which would take your mini to its max distance. There are many ways to change it to FCC you just gotta look it up on KZfaq. Type in "how to change my mavic mini to FCC mode. " There's tons of tutorials. My DJI spark barely got 2000 ft too. After the FCC hack I got it to about 13600ft! Sorry for taking your time man. Just wanted to help. Peace out.

Kyle Smith I’m in Florida, so I have the FCC model. On the beach, I’ve gotten a little over 3k feet and disconnected, and about 1600 in a residential neighborhood. I can’t get anything close to what I’m seeing in some of these videos, though. I put my phone in airplane mode, go up to over 300 feet, but it hasn’t helped.

I've lost footage by not stopping the recording too. I was so upset. I recorded footage of a water flowing through a dam.

I´ve had the same problem someday. You just need to search for fixing mp4 files on the internet. There will be some websites where you can upload your footage. The issue, that you can´t view the footage is that the data of the mp4 file (recording time, resolution etc) isn´t applied to your mp4 file. So the only thing you have to do is to add that data. There are plenty of programms out there. :D If it did work let me know :D

I’ve experienced that problem and I found a very simple solution on reddit. Put your SD card back in the drone, turn the drone on and connect your controller and phone to the drone. View the file in the album through the app and then turn everything off and remove your card. Problem solved.

Hey Guys you can still repair corrupted files afterwards the only thing you need is free programm called "Digital Video Repair" and another video from your drone that was shot with the same settings (resolution/framerate) as the video you want to repair.

I heard the solution is to put the sd card back in the Mini and start recording a new flight. The problem is the last file was never closed correctly which is why it's seen as being corrupted. As soon as a new file is created the Mini will correctly close the last unfinished file that was never stopped thus automatically fixing the video 👍

Nice video. One question regarding battery power. You were at 278 feet high and going about 14mph heading back, if you lower your height to let's say 80 feet, will you use less battery at this height?

i just got my mini yesterday and took my first flight, the first time you lose video transmission with wind warnings sure is scary! lol then i panicked and didnt realize i had to hold the return to home on the screen! Got it home safely! I got it all recorded too. Will practice more today and get famaliar with the return to home feature! I will load the video in a few days on youtube!

hello miles! I purchased a mini a few days ago and boy am I terrified to fly this thing XD I just wanted to know what wind speeds you would recommend flying in, as well as to what the rules and regulations are for flying in a residential neighborhood, ive looked up everything I can and the only thing I can see that would be a no go would be the "flying over people" law . if you could provide me with any insight as a new flyer that would be amazing !

I think he records his phone screen and then while editing he places the recording on top of the drone recoding.👍

Great video by all accounts , but as we are all now having to fly VLOS in line with the drone code there is no way you can spot the small light gray Nat at 2000 plus distance? DJI should have thought about the colour more for a drone at the size of the mini to aid VLOS flying.

You can fly over property, local and state officials are not allowed to regulate airspace they can only regulate take off and landing restrictions in certain area’s.

Miles Deep, I have been trying to download videos to KZfaq with my M2P. Livestream isn't working for me. I barely get a fraction of my flights in my cashe(sp). Any tips or tricks? I'm only using my drone for footage and would like to share my experiences. I want to shoot the backside of Marco Island but I can't download to KZfaq. Facebook gives shoddy video so I don't want to use that platform.

Maybe you should fade out your smaller videos for the bulk of you movies and just bring them in every once in a while to give us some telemetry info but still enjoy the full screen 4K movie. I usually just have it at the beginning and ending of my movies. Sometimes I pop the screen recording in during flight to show speed or other telemetry. Nice videos though.

Have you come in to any problems flying the drone as of yet? Whether that be it giving false wind warnings or the drone giving you the ‘max power load reached’ warning?
