@27:00 This is what happened in LV and how I realized we were all getting screwed by the way Uber was reporting our EARNED INCOME ON 1099Ks: I gave a ride to a complete stranger. He has an unusual name that reminded me of someone I used to work for. Then I found out he knew the father of the guy I used to work for! We had such a great conversation. And since this guy was in town for a carpenter's meeting for a new job, I decided to give him a free ride. Pro bono. When I arrived, I did NOT tap "complete ride," which would give him a star rating. Instead, I tapped "Cancel Ride." The app then wanted a reason for the cancellation, and I chose "Don't charge rider." I told the nice gentleman and showed him on the app that I wasn't charging him for the ride, by tapping "Don't charge rider," and he said, "Thanks, that helps me out right now." I said, "good luck with your new job!" Later on, I was looking at my receipts after a few other rides and my wallet had a "0" that stood out also, so I tapped on the "0" ride to see how the customer receipt was laid out, expecting the rider's fare to say "0." It did not. There was still an amount that rider had to pay (I don't remember how much it was now), but it was all Uber's income, not a penny of it was mine because I didn't charge rider for anything, and he couldn't afford to tip. If you can afford to do a pro bono ride for your own records and proof to amend your tax returns, just go out and accept a ping for say, $5.00 or less. Tell the passenger at the end of the ride, "You know what? I like you and if you'd like try HUM (in PHX/Tucson currently), here's a card to download the app. And I'm also not going to charge you for this ride. Uber does not care about either of us, so we need to care about each other." Show them you are cancelling the ride and let them see your "0" pop up on your screen. Then tap on the trip and it should say "0", and in your wallet also "0" for that ride. Then ask them to show you their receipt to make sure they know that whatever they got charged, that's all Uber's income. If they're really nice, ask them if you can take a screenshot of their receipt. I always wondered why the small print under our net earnings on that Monthly or Annual Statement reads: "Not for income tax purposes." It's because they want you to report to the IRS the same way that they are reporting to the IRS. But Turbo tax had something new this year. There was a box under the Earnings amount that read something like, "If that amount is too high, what is the amount that should NOT be in that amount? So you can report what Uber reported, but you can also deduct all the fees etc in one lump some and not have to worry about spending time typing out all those fees and deductions under expenses like Uber hopes you do. Your net on your summary is your Gross! And then you start deducting all your business expenses from that. Saves a lot of time. God bless Turbo tax and proof of our earnings from one free ride that I chose to give, not Uber's choice to give at my expense, but by my decision making just to help someone out. Charity begins at home everyone. And Uber has taken so much money from riders & drivers, yet they give nothing back to ADOT or NDOT to get people hired to fix our roads. I challenge everyone in all 50 states to give one free ride (pro bono), cancel the ride when arrive at destination, tell Uber "dont charge rider," and feel good thereafter, for the rest of the day. 😀🙏🇺🇸🙏🌎 And don't forget to tell your pro bono rider about HUM. They get another $5.00 off on their first ride on the HUM app! 😀

Just converted one tonight ,that was $49 for a 20 mile black ride. Uber was charging them $98. The guest gave me $200 bucks and said keep hustling. They will definitely listen when you speak up ✊🏽

Drivers should get the last word. Uber allows us to update their customers on our progress to get to them... so let's DO IT! We The 300!

$2.38 is the NEW $2.62 on LYFT. I had no idea it was possible to get so far under $3.15, which is the minimum per gallon price for gasoline in ABQ. These people aren't making basic mathematical sense. The value is in the documentation of the earnings, not the true earnings. 🇮🇳

When I tell people that HUM not only allows, but highly encourages us to have private clientele and we can do cash pickup rides, I then follow up by saying, we enter these rides into the driver app, so there is a record, and we cover safety concerns, and we can cover the rides with HUM insurance, just like they are covered with the rider app.

Been listening to your pod cast in my area aurora il reservations are none existence anymore they are giving reservations for 80 cents on the mile pickup to drop off on my calculations and people are still taking them not knowing how much uber charge for reservations so sad i don't do reservations anymore 😢

Love to see driver's thriving in your area my area aurora il has been flooded with driver's can't say migrants or people out of work but I do know uber flooded the market and there is no cap 2hrs on line 3 crappie rides turned them down I'm still in aurora il work your market before it goes up under food for thought no a lot of uber and lyft driver's in my area are pigeons 100%😢

9:40 damn I'm expensive 😂. My deal is tell me what Uber charges and I go lower. For one hour drive Uber is charging $100-$110 so I'm $90 and they tip and I appreciate it again. Shorter ride Uber wants $15? I'll do it for $13. You know like that and save them money over time and the college kids don't get it 😂 and not just the 'daddys paying for it anyway' type college kids educated isn't = smart most of the time

I haven’t gotten any Quests or reservations since November. is this happening to anybody? the driver i call for rides just told me him and his wife gets them they are both renting he has a Tesla she doesn’t but her ride is comfort. he said he don’t g a 🤬 about his AR he don’t accept everything ps:his Tesla said maybe once in a while a premier pops up & he has a charger at his house

I turned on my app and declined anything I thought wasn’t close enough to convert to HUM. Wasn’t terribly successful though. 2 of 5 for $68. Probably could’ve got a few more With willingness to invest more time. I saw plenty of drivers out screwing the cause. My riders did say they were having a difficult time getting a ride. The media coverage is really what it’s all about.

The pick up area at SFO is full of people waiting for their ride thinking there not that many drivers available and that’s not the reason. The reason is, passengers are waiting a long time because the apps are throwing low offers to the drivers, and most of them are not taking them. Passengers don’t know this and the airport authorities don’t donnothing about it either
