Sorry guys for skipping the Belt Removal I should've recorded it. All you need to do is Push the wheel arm towards the RIght which will give you slack on the belt to remove it from the motor. After that release the arm gently as it does have a Spring so it doesn't snap back and hurt your hand. Once the belt is off the wheel and Motor I pull on the belt up on top of the Drum as it will carry the drum and gently take it out of the Dryer's Case. And to Reinstall the Belt I reverse the Process.. I put the belt on the Drum first. Pull on the Belt as to carry the Drum And put it over the Back Wheels then release the Belt. Then Reach in with both hands and put the belt around the Motor's Ring/Nut. Then Once Again Push the Wheel and Arm towards the RIght to place the belt over the White Wheel. (NOTE : TAKE A QUICK GLANCE BEFORE REMOVING THE BELT TO GET AN IDEA HOW IT LOOPS AROUND BOTH THE MOTOR AND WHEEL)

Thank you, mine is doing this exactly. I’m going to try. Gosh I hope I don’t make it worse.

@@colleenwilliams7650 just remember to use grease and not WD-40 to lubricate the wheels. WD-40 will dry in a few days and will make more squeaks. also check the wheels to make sure they are not worn out. if they are just get a kit from Amazon. they usually go for 30 bucks for all 4 wheels. and if you need any assistance let me know i can walk you through.

great video... I have exactly the same issue... I got a kit from Amazon, but may just need some grease. Thanks!

Great, thanks! I just did everything you showed in the video. I just needed to look up how to unbuckle the wires harness. It seems that you need to use a screwdriver, at least they show it like that on Maytag official video. Also, I had to find how to put back the belt, the loop and the rest. In any case, squeaking is gone! Thank you!

On mine it was the small, plastic washer between the pulley and the assembly. The old washer had shrunk and become brittle (story of my life) causing the pulley to rub against the assembly. Replaced with .505 x 3/4 x 1/8 nylon flat washer. ( six for a dollar at Lowes)

I have Maytag Bravos XL what type of belt did you use for changing it out? Your video is very helpful!
@thomasz49813 жыл бұрын
Does the idler pulley spin around the center bushing in it , or does it just spin as one around the shaft? Thanks.
@davidyork38362 жыл бұрын
Ours is the XL version and making similar sound but if you leave it on it goes away ater slowly getting quieter. Does this sound like something familiar or can you steer us in the certain direction to diagnose this.. we have 4 kids and can't go without a working dryer but I have to repair it myself if at all possible.
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
yours sounds like a vibration sound then. and it should be a similar issue. the wheels are losing grease so they are harder to turn with makes all types of sounds, squeaks and vibrations.
@vbgn_urfacebish75153 жыл бұрын
Should make sure to tell people to unplug it before working on it.

I did mention it at 12:55 .... was the first video I do apologize I should of mention it at the beginning of the video.

Yeah I watch the whole video and then heard you say it, I was like there it is. Not everyone thinks about that kind of stuff and it's a lot of voltage going through there

Thanks for posting Jesus! Wanted to ask, where did you apply the grease to the rear wheel that was squeaking? Was it applied at the nut holding the wheel, or, applied directly on the pully wheel?
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
Both wheels. I removed the wheels and put grease in the inner side of each wheel then put it back .

how about the maytag 3000 series, how to open the top cover?
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
if you have the frontload 3000 series you need to remove some screws on the back top lid. and you slide the top cover back. that will release it.

I have a question., Why my Maytag Neptune Dryer model # MDE6700 have squeaky noise only after the dryer heat up after 10 to 15 minutes of running ?
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
Most squeaks or buzzing noises are causes by the wheels the hold and turn the tub. With time they get hair stuck. Lint. And the grease dries up. So we either have to change the wheels or grease them up with high heat grease

Thx for including the sound. My problem definitely sounds very different. The offensive sound slowly begins 12~15 mins into a dry cycle. Starts w a brief buzzing sound that becomes longer and longer until it reaches a consistent ear piercing squealing or buzz. Not thinking the fix will be the same as the one presented here. But helpful video otherwise.
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
Most squeaks or buzz sounds usually are the wheels. Yours sounds like the wheels on the back that support the tub. Let me know what you find.

@@JesseApplianceRepair thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. So I went back and listened again. I can make out a thud as the drum turns. So I’ll start with replacing the wheels. As for the clicking that turns into an earring piercing buzzing sound, it’s definitely different than what I’ve heard so far. I have to believe it’s not belt related since the sound is so different and intermittent. I’ve also isolated it happens only happens when dryer is hot (after about 15 mins.) Opening the dryer door and letting it cool for 15 mins typically stops the buzzing. Wondering if it could be bad bearing? Thanks again & will keep u posted
@JesseApplianceRepair2 жыл бұрын
@@bigtridentguy let me know what you find. if you open it and smell burnt most likely is your motor. cus I cant think of anything else the will buzz when its only hot. Try running a cycle on Fluff only.. No Heat and see what that does.

@@JesseApplianceRepair ahh, good thought. Will do. I’ll follow up. Thx!

@@JesseApplianceRepair so here’s an update to the buzz that comes from the drum. Two days ago it started to buzz. It starts off clicking, then grows into the deafening buzz. I walked over to the dryer to open the door. As I approached I realized I needed something on the shelves above and leaned onto dryer. I put pressure on the top right corner and it stopped the strengthening buzzing sound. I put a rubber floor protector underneath the front right corner which raised it at least 1.5 inches. It’s been 3 days and no more buzzing. Strangest thing ever.
