I still have my doubts that the valves were the problem but I'll be finding out very soon. #headinstallCX7 #MazdaCX7 #headgasketCX7

I'm sorry but I do not know. I would source a used head from LKQ and do all the work myself. I would imagine a mechanic would charge a few $1000 to do the job.

What tool did you use to remove the fuel injectors?

Torx bit I don't remember what size.

Did you reuse the old headbolts? Did they work longterm?

It's been awhile but I'd imagine that's a torque to yield bolt. It's a one time use so I would have replaced them.

@@michiganmudmechanic Thanks. I got spun rod bearings - would you drop the engine from the bottom or pull from the top on the CX7. Also would you pull engine and transmission together or split first. (Just in case you had any thoughts on the CX7 engine removal process).

@@pingpong9656 I have never pulled a motor out of a CX7. Mine was an all-wheel drive so just guessing I would have tried to come out the top or remove the front end. But I'm only guessing I do not own that car anymore.

It ran good. I sold it a couple days after I finished it. I never heard back from the guy so I'm assuming all is well.

No, One is bigger than the other.

Did you resurface the head?

Nope, I cleaned both surfaces with Scotch bright and I threw a new head gasket in there.
