"Medical Authorities Have Responded With Alarm!" NHS Declare Sex Is Biological Fact

The NHS is to declare that sex is a matter of biology in a landmark shift against gender ideology.
Changes to the health service’s written constitution proposed by ministers will for the first time ban trans women from women-only wards, and give women the right to request a female doctor for intimate care.
The NHS constitution, a document that aims to set out the principles and values of the health service and legal rights for patients and staff, was last updated in 2015. It has to be updated at least every 10 years by the Secretary of State.
Campaigners for women’s rights welcomed the significant shift, which comes after years of wrangling and follows accusations that the health service had been captured by “gender ideology”.
Talk's Ian Collins is joined by director of campaigns at Sex Matters Fiona McAnena to discuss.

Organisations like mermaids and stonewall have been pushing this for years. Suspect most actual trans people just want treatment and to be left alone. At least the ones I spoke to on twitter years ago gave me that impression.

Common sense has been sadly missing and as a result children and young people have suffered. To take the word 'women' out of medical literature that only affects adult human females is both dangerous and insulting. Female wards are exclusively for females only and for too long our feelings and fears have been ignored. The Cass Report has opened the Pandora's Box on this ideology and hopefully sanity, reality and proper medical care will be restored.

Science is supposed to be unbiased and based on observable facts that can be independently reoeated and verified. Internal feelings doesn't affect anatomy, biology, chemistry, physics, etc required to provide REAL medical care. If you actually care about people who are in the trans camp, you should make sure the care they're getting is actually doing any good instead of doing more damage. It's like covering up a wound with a dirty bandage. Doing nothing would have been better.

It's really good that the tide is changing since the Cass report, had got to an insane level. It's nothing to do with "hate", people can live their lives however they want, just don't deny the reality of biological sex. There's really no reason to.

Ok, my local hospital is FREQUENTLY at its limit for beds so here is a hypothetical question... The hospital has had a huge influx in admissions due to the maternity and gynaecology ward of the hospital in the next town closing down so obs and gynaecology in your hospital are not taking any new cases and diverting women in labour go a different hospital miles away (this happened when I was in having a c-section!) This as well as a nasty flu outbreak or a big accident and the hospital is almost at capacity. That is apart from 3 beds available on a mens ward and just one bed available on a female ward.Two people are then brought in to A&E, both need to be admitted to a ward. Anna is a biological woman who has a very low blood oxygen level and is struggling to breathe due to pneumonia. Daisy is an intact biological man who identifies as a "lesbian" woman who has symptoms of meningitis. Who gets the female bed?

Of all places the NHS, and the medical profession, MUST focus on the biological sex of a person in order to provide the correct care. If they are a trans woman then thats fine but for medical treatment doctors and nurses need to know your biological sex and also if you are a trans person as that may affect medication you are taking, etc. Agreed there has to be some rules over which type of ward a person should be put in must be created. If a trans woman appears to all intents and purposes as a woman than its possible they go into a womans ward as long as they do not have their private parts exposed to the women. If the trans woman still appears very much as a man then they may have to go into a male ward. It should be possible to hand this, but it does partly depend on the individual accepting these are the rules and not going on a rant!!!

So a female that's perhaps been assaulted in any way, shape or form by a male must then just accept that her needs for privacy and feeling safe will be outweighed by the political needs of another male? They keep saying women should come forward, where all they're really doing is just creating more reasons why they won't. Escalating an already existing problem.

Is there truly an outrage over this? Any trans persons I know, they are aware of biological sex. They don't fight science over that. They accept themselves as a biological "blank", showing up as a trans "blank". They don't pretend to be a full biological version of their preferred sex, but merely take on a lot of gender attributes (mannerisms, clothing, voice, etc).

I recall years ago, in the early ‘70’s, working as a Canadian nurse in London, UK, on a male medical floor. We had a male admission, dressed as a woman, whom I assumed to be a transvestite at the time, rather than a trans woman. The patient was assigned to a private room in this old cottage hospital. I was not assigned to the patient at the time, however, I recall having a wonderful conversation with “her” about Shirley Bassey, as we were both great fans! Wouldn’t have known at that time in my young career whether to off a urinal or not!

‘Senior nurses with a real problem’: - firstly, I’ve been at 13 hospitals, I’ve never seen a male or female ward outside of psychiatry. So this is a lot of hypotheticals that do not impact our clinical practice. - there are sex based bays HOWEVER this guideline is constantly broken anyway due to lack of beds Also genuine question: - what do I do with androgynous people? - what do I do with intersex people? Edit: she address my above questions with a vague ‘provisions should be made’. Aka we are gonna make loads more work in an overstretched system when really it’s all overcrowded anyway and everyone mixed. What a non issue this is

In the past doctors were just relieved they could palm the decision onto "specialist consultants" - most real work these days is done by "specialists" GPs just triage and refer. Now they'll have to think what to do instead of passing the buck.

Wait, the ending was a bit washy argument. You can't say trans women are not allowed in women only wards because they are biologically male, but then also say trans men are not allowed when they are biologically female. And then you reserve the argument for trans-men, saying it's because they look like men, but don't apply that reasoning to trans-women. Sounds a bit fishy...
