As a Evo owner myself I can say it's a great car. I wouldn't lower the car, keep the stock suspension, get a new front bumper and build the motor. It'll be a blast to drive.

We need to see more of this! JDM Bumper and touch up the front end and its perfect! I would do coilovers and wheels too like you said, you can keep the BBS wheels as track wheels

The Bilsteins and BBS rims are great, an awesome buy for people who didn't get MR's and want some ridiculously cheap upgrades from MR owners who practically give them away. Personally I've found putting on coilovers to be one of the worst mistakes I've admittedly continually made to my cars that actually had good suspension from the factory, the evo being a prime example. This is focusing on performance and comfort of course, but when I see that tyre gap I think great, I'll actually be able to drive around without worrying about destroying the underside of my car.
