This is my favourite one of Meti's series. Even if it's not the most updated, I still think it dives pretty nicely into not just the names, stand, etc. but also the writing of the arc itself.

One of the most overpowered "non-combat" stands in the series. I'd argue it could kill a reality bender as its bound to its soul and is basically their stand, they'd be killing themselves if they tried to get rid of Cheap Trick using their abilities. And of course, the fact it can one shot kill you all if someone sees your back.

I really like how Cheap trick is an instance of a Stand becoming a menace to their usser because of their lack of will It makes the stand more interesting for me, beceause it opens the possibility that other stands with negative effects to their usser could be a result of something similar to Holly not having enough will to control her stand and thus it started to damage her

A bit of an interesting thought experiment: Could Masazo Kinoto have had Cheap Trick before being struck by the arrow? Not having met any other stand users up until Rohan, he might not have realized what his condition actually was, believing it to be a mere phobia or distaste rather than anything paranormal. It could even be that when the arrow chose him, it powered up the stand even further similar to when it powered up Kira's Killer Queen. If this were true, it would mean it's power was probably even weaker before, issuing empty threats to Masazo without there ever truly being any danger to him if anyone saw his back. Only after being powered up by the arrow would it then pose a true threat to him, outright killing him if anyone so much as glanced at his back and going out of its way to try to make that happen. Of course it's also entirely possible, and perhaps even likely that it really was just a psychological problem he had that the arrow then manifested into Cheap Trick.

One thing I've been wondering is why Cheap Trick tried to prevent the discovery of Kira's identity. Was he only trying to fuck with Rohan and it was all just a coincidence? I have a small (and mostly baseless) theory that Masazo Kinoto is not the original user, but that the original user had full control of Cheap Trick and was hired by Kira's dad, the original user planted Cheap Trick on Masazo. Cheap Trick then lied to Rohan about Masazo being the original user in order to protect the actual user.

I really have to say this I kind of like Cheap Trick cuz here's the deal he's not holding on with his strength it's a stand power for example he would probably be immune to stopping time so not even star Platinum could probably take him off it took it another Supernatural thing the ghost alley to rip him off

I wonder how cheap trick was supposed to work, I don't think Hey Ya is a very good example. If we go with the interpretation that stands from users that aren't supposed to handle stands become hotheaded and aggressive, sort of like how dogs will think they are in charge if you don't discipline them, perhaps cheap trick developed the grip and drain powers as a sort of manifestation of it's newfound agressiveness since stands are sorta like souls. I think that the tamed cheap trick would roughly be the same, however, instead of the damage transfer powers it has, it would simply have attacks bounce off him, pass through, or simply have no effect. Another possible effect is that it still annoys and pesters it's user, but instead of trying to drive them insane, it acts like a guide of sorts. However, instead of giving out "good" advice, the stand constantly advises the user on how to do things in scummy ways, owing to it's name. It would yell for nutshots during combat, teach you how to pickpocket, and generally come out on top, albeit with no friends at all. It also nicely matches with how the user needed to be "stronger" since one with a strong will wouldn't solely rely on cheap trick and wouldn't just be a extension/slave to the stand.

I just thought, if Rohan wrote that cheap trick was going to hell, and stand abilities affect cheap tricks users, does that mean koichi is going to hell?
