After all, necklaces with gems made from crystalized demon blood have got to be on the rare side due to the fact that while demons are kinda commonplace in the DMC world, getting jewelry quality red orbs is probably pretty rare and something only the Sparda family can reliably do.

I think what that means is that it can't be connected to a 1-to-1 ratio of USD vs Blood Orbs, and the price would vary wildly depending on the seller and buyer. A priest, for example, would want anything *but* the crystalized blood of actual demons, and therefore would probably pay nothing, or maybe even want money for ridding of it. Whereas someone who likes collecting unique things might pay a lot, because it's literally the crystallized blood of actual demons. A satanic cult might seem like they'd want it, but when you think about it, why would they pay for demon blood, when it's so obvious where you got it from? I guess a priest might actually pay in exchange if the blood was used as proof that you've killed demons.

There's also the question of the HHS's useability as a method of comparison. Jerusalem holy water might not even be holy water in DMC lore. A goddess certainly doesn't exist in the lore that says Jerusalem has holy water. And also, what's holier? A bottle of water made by a priest, or a bottle of holy water, known to actually be holy and absolutely devastating to demons, made/sold by a god(dess)? Though I have to say, the goddess trying to sell holy water as a product, but never actually getting the right amount because of Dante, and then it getting even worse because of Nero, is too funny and somehow logical to not make my head cannon.

I was ready to make a paragraph saying how holy water wouldn't work in the lore of DMC the same way it does IRL (considering how Christianity is objectively not real in DMC, and, if the theory that DMC and Bayonetta are in the same universe, that throws another wrench in the works), but I thought that the video itself was just a funny haha with a sorta theory thrown in, so me saying "Umm, ackshually" would make me look like I got wooshed. IMO, Red Orbs are more of a thing that Dante doesn't introduce into the mundane world of humans because he doesn't want to over-inflate their cost or something, either that or he's ready to just drop a bomb of millions of red Orbs in exchange for billions of dollars for when he's tired of being in debt. But the most probable explanation is that they're just a game mechanic to make the player get stronger over time, seeing as how they're never mentioned in cutscenes or dialogue. Still a fun idea to play with, though

Yep. Also even the normal Holy Water's price would be higher there simply because there is more demand for it. Demons are a KNOWN THING in that world after all. Even normal Holy Water would be expensive. One that is blessed by a god? Oh boy.

Priests probably get the power to bless water from God Himself, so I don't see why that would make much of a difference. Plus, selling holy water is a sin of simony.

@@manunova5929 You're gonna need more than just guns, Lady has peak human strength as well able to throw rebellion with ease for example, and is a highly skilled demon hunter, heard she also bought her weapons from Nico way back which explains their effectiveness, and another example Crew cut and his men were fking decimated till Nico showed up with Nero, idk if regular guns are effective against base demons

Kevlar vests and plates didn't seem to do anything to protect against low level demons like the Empusa's, which honestly explains why Lady and other devil hunters don't actually wear armor, just regular clothes since the armor would just slow you down and not be effective.

@@BlightfulProductions the power scaling in DMC is rediculous. Basically any mob that passes for mini-boss in the franchise, is a hight-velocity machine of death and annihilation. Simply put, Dante’s and Vergil’s fight in 3 (where they were supposedly in the weakest) made them cut literal raindrops around them, cleaning the whole area until they clashed blades. Their swords were moving much faster then any bullets could, and same swords don’t one-shot those minibossess (not counting Vergil). Also in the very same DMC 3 Dante running down the tower reached hypersonic speeds, which is above mach 5 (you can say by the red outline around his body, that forms when meteors fall to earth, and its achieved by air literally burning around the object due to sheer friction) just by fucking running. Yeah, regular humans have no chance, and I simply do not believe that Lady’s magical priestess linage doesn’t give her some boons. After all - she is storing all this ammo somewhere.

Pope blessed holy water is the most powerful, and pressumably that's more equivalent to water I assume a goddess is blessing herself. Online I can find it for ~$30 USD for half an ounce. However there's another factor of our world's holy water lore that must effect its price. If you fill a vessel with 51% holy water at 49% mundane water, the entire contents become holy. So the little half and ounce you can buy online or at the Vatican can become gallons via careful math and some work- no priests required.

@@slojcabronas858 short term? Game mechanics. It would be broken if you could just open and close the shop or something and lower the prices of goods. It also makes it harder to implement than a simple counter, but that's beside the point. The one that's long-term (as in between different games) is that it does. The price goes back down between games, at least the ones where you can get it. That, or her supply always ran out before the demand did. As in, as long as she's got holy water, there's someone there willing to buy it. Then around the end of the games just before the games without holy water, she runs out entirely. In games without it, she's presumably doing some kind of restock to make/acquire more whenever you aren't actively shopping in an effort to build up a suitable supply (in the gamer girl bathwater analogy, that would lead to some pretty pruny stone toes). Another potential long term explanation that she just stopped selling it entirely when the demand was too low (namely after big bad evil guy deaths at the end of the games before games that don't have holy water). Then the demand rose again, so she put it back on the metaphorical shelf. Then the cycle repeats.
