Dads can do it tv: Good method too, but it's easier to go to the "my metro" app, go to the bottom where it says "account" scroll down where it says "switch phones" and follow the instructions BUT first if you're using an unlocked phone, load the "my metro" app on the unlocked/new phone, done in 5 min, pull out your same sim card and put it in the new phone when the screen tells you to and done and for me that am a tech dummy, that's saying something...LOL! Keep these great videos coming.

@@chiriviscospowerok so since you screen is obliterated you can find the imei # behind the battery pack. Or use the numbers of the Sim card and transfer your Sim card to the new phone.. I hope this helps.

I just got a new phone and your video is spot on for transferring the sim. As you mentioned in the comments, the icc is the number printed on the sim card. Also mentioned in the comments, the F is included in the number in the setup process. Thank you very much for your video and very clear explanation of swapping phones. You're the best.

No. There should be absolutely no waiting period.

You might have to call. But do not pay anything. Have your account open and ready, so you can tell them to walk you through it. This way you don't have to pay. Let them know what happend as you explained it to me. They will help. Good luck. Please let us know what they say. Thank you.

You are very welcome. You can also pay your phone bill using the mymetro app on your phone on on the same website you went to switch phones. This way you miss the store trip and also save the $4 processing fee at the store.

Hi, I have my Stylo 6 working right. Got Metro on the web, sight said they had problems and to call them. It was Metro & The lady hooked me up with no problems at all. Gave her the IMEI # AND she did the rest.

thanks man, I got a new phone because my old iPhone broke and I had to switch my number to another Android over the phone which worked and now I have to switch the number to my new phone all because I needed to receive a verification code from Apple but yeah anyways the guy at the store and one of the people over the phone told me it was better to do it online because it’s free which is what I’ma do! 😊

Very good explanation of the process. However, it appears the latest online process has changed slightly. When you are entering the IMIE number of your new phone they call it the serial number of your new phone rather than calling it the IMIE. Then they asked me if I was using my old sim card and I said yes and bingo all was done. They even now add the F at the end for you.

Omggg my google pixel broke today and I'm getting it shipped out for fixing. My mom had an iPhone for me to use in the meantime and this worked!!!! Saved me $20 that would've been $40 to switch back to my pixel 4a again. Thank you so much sir!!!!!!!!

Hi. No it does not. Because your yearly upgrade is when you upgrade your phone at the store. It has never affected me. I say this because I broke my phone. I bought one on offerup switched my line a month later I went to the store for an upgrade and had no issues.

Unfortunately you cannot get around needing a Sim card. And if you buy one, you have to make sure it is for the phone you have. You cannot put just any Sim card in it, it won't work.

Thank you for the feed back. Keep in mind it is an 8 digit pin that you have. Not a 6 digit pin. I hope this helps. If anything you can go to the store and request your pin in person. Also keep in mind you can also pay your bill with your phone going into you "mymetro" app. This way you don't have to pay the NOW $4.00 service fee at the store.

I am very sorry. But when it comes to iPhone for the security in those phones you have to go to a store. If you were going from iPhone to iPhone it may have been possible.

Unfortunately you cannot get around needing a Sim card. A d if you buy one it has to be for your phone. You can't put any Sim card in it.

Question: When you say imei to the new phone, are you referring to the imei of the new phone? Or do you mean grab the imei from the old phone to the new phone? Or in simple terms which imei do I grab, old phone or new phone? Thanks.

my phone is broken and its asking for a one time six digit code i have two lines on my account and I'm only trying to switch one line over to a new one but i cant because its asking for the six digit code how would i be able to switch my phone without the code

You should be able to send that code to the working phone. It should give you the option as to which line to send the code to. But If you have your 8 digit pin it should not ask for a code. The only other way, you will have to go to the store and let them know you know how to do it yourself. Explain the process and they will do it for you and wave the fees. Please don't quote me on this. As I do not work with nor for metro. But the fees have been waved for everyone else. I hope this helps.
