I pressure test an injector from the MF135 and find the nozzle un serviceable.
I them pull down the injector to get the nozzle number so we can purchase some new ones.

Nothing to them really, I would usually just replace the nozzle and set the pressure.

Yeah but now the forklift broke a selector so Ill be fixing it, Im making a new selector of an evening.

I always wondered why those injector pressure testers never ship with drag pointer pressure gauges. Still take some experience testing, but sure would be nice to see some peak pressures recorded.

When purging the pressure is high and as I can put way more fuel than the tractor will per pump of the handle it would not be a useful figure. But after purging I suppose it would be ok.

Hi lance, great info, injectors and pumps we are always led to believe that its a taboo do not touch subject, wonder why that is. My JD 2035 has 1 dodgy injector, on cold start it fufs a bit with whiteish smoke for a few seconds then kicks in and you can tell by the engine roughness to smooth when it starts to work correctly. I'm sure its only 1 but telling which one without taking them all out is the dificult bit. I sent 2 injectors from a lombardini 2 cylinder engine to get new nozles and they charged me 210€($333AuD)bloody ripoff but when you don't know it costs you.

Bloody expensive, you can get aftermarket JD ones cheaply now a days, I have used them with no problems at all.

Well explained. I have extracted mine and cleaned them up. Just wondering how many turns out on the adjusting screw after they have bottomed out. ? I had one at 1 1/2 another was as much as 2 1/4 . Is there a rule of thumb for these as I do not have a pressure tester. My nozzles are shallow with just a round ball for a tip. Only 2 holes in the nozzle. Thanks. I think there should be some tension on the push rod spring.

I have not known of a setting apart from pressure but if each was different I would just copy them carefully as the difference will be the spring tension.

Hi Lance, Just another good video I am studying on! So thanks for that! I am about to overhaul my AD 3152 injectors s only as I can hear a slight knocking when idling …I’m planning to do the nozzles of all 3 injectors… but do not have any pressure testing device as you do. So if my understanding is correct I just have to count the scree driver turns before dismantling and keep them also when reinstalling back the injector..isnt’it? Thanks again for your help

Yes that will get you very close if you take time to do it carefully.

Thank you, so the more you turn the adjusting screw in the higher will be the opening pressure... I may try to have them soaking to see it if they just need cleaning.. Do you thinks the nozzle can be taken off without taking the spring out? Is a knocking injector symptom of a leak (low pressure)? I just can’t recognize it… Would you suggest also the AV DPA pump overhaul together with the injectors reset? Thanks

So if you were going to fix those ones up, the only bit you'd replace is the injector nozzle? Or do you ever replace the spring ? Thanks.

G Day Joshua, Yes just the nozzle, the spring can be re tensioned with the adjusting screw to give correct pressures.
