I actually see a strong similarity to Kentucky. Except he'd ask what your friends last name was, and if he knew it, would be friends and it would be this. If you didn't know your friend or the family, the whole ride would be sitting in silence. Replace ice fishing for just fishing or fly fishing (in the east.) Replace let me know if you see a turkey with "buck" or "stag" depending on what part of the state you're in.

I live in Vegas but grew up in ND. Few years ago I walked into Target and the security guard said "good morning" so I look over and gave her the head nod and a "hey". She stopped me and was tearing up and said "oh geez, are you from the midwest?! Nobody ever says "hey" here. I just moved here and I miss home!" I just said "same, girl. Same!" And we hugged it out.
