As mentioned in a previous video, of the £10 Dyson DC40, I was trading that for two other vacuums. This is the first one, a fairly down on it's luck Miele C3!
The old owner told me it didn't work, and had ingested water. So, how bad could it possibly be? Let's find out!

I own a Miele much like this one, and came across this video when the cord got stuck inside and I couldn't pull it out. I'm a middle-aged lady in NYC and have never fixed a vacuum in my life, but your video was SO helpful! I managed to open it up and fix it myself. Now my vacuum works again and I can get all the dog hairs off my rug. THANK YOU!!! :)

Great video! Thanks! My wife vacuumed ashes, since then the suction is just not the same. I was looking for a new one, but then stumbled across you video. Very informative and I’ll give it a try tomorrow! 😀👍🏻

Hey beko if you’re still answering comments I would like to tell you that the problem might be the speed control board where the + and - buttons are the problem is that it might be dirty with mould or something because that’s what happened to my Miele if it’s not that then you’re theory is correct

Hi! Will bear it in mind and certainly give them a spray of contact cleaner for good measure, it could be a cause. I just try and stay away from the bloody things now! Tried to fit a qualtex motor to one a year or so ago and it sparked and blew the bloody pcb! Never seen it before

Sir if had an error about overheating but motor seems . Can I ask for help other remedy? I saw in ur video u have voltage regulator? Is that voltage regulator with an thermostat?

I’m really liking Miele vacs now.I have an s7 bit after watching your vids on the canister versions I think I’ll get a couple of these too Sam.

you can use an S5 motor and just swap the impeller and the fan casing. in your case the commutator/armature has failed just like mine.

same machine, except the triac was fine, its fuse that was broke 3mp31702 next to triac, but i cannot find one online in the uk, any idea where i can source one.

Could be a few things, some of them scary... Is it the plus or minus button? Does it still feel and sound like it should, a nice sharp click (buttons not broken has it?) Otherwise removing cleaning and reinserting the pcb could help but it could be anything...

I have an 8 year old Miele which now is starting to let out a bad smell everytime we hoover. To be expected. If I were to clean the insides would that mean the smell goes?

Maybe, depends if its a motor-burning-out smell or musty bag. If musty bag then gently washing the sound deadening panels and refitting will help!

I want to know how you clean up the motor, with water or just wipe?

The armature and coil get removed and everything casing wise gets washed. Fan is soaked in boiling water and washing up liquid until it comes clear. Then dry and reassemble 👍

@@beko1987 thank you, Sam! The metal where the the coil is wrapped around is rusty, is it okay to oil it with machine oil?

See your using us Pro tools 😂 I use them at work up against snap on and I found the quality to be nearly as good for a fraction of the cost 😂😂

Yea, got them at a car show for a fiver! And whilst I've not cracked big rusty bolts off on the car with them, for vacuum use their fantastic! (I have used them on the car too, in the engine bay on hard to reach stuff!)
