Way over critical for a rough cut circular saw. The bottom of that shoe will catch hell after a few uses, so a tiny defect in paint is nothing. It being out of square by a fraction of a degree means nothing within its cutting depth. It's made for rough cut framing, not furniture making. Expecting a circular saw to be absolutely perfect under a microscope is asking way too much of it. My framing tools get treated like a red headed step child on the job site. Hard fast cuts, tossed aside on the cutting tale, sometimes dropped, and rarely treated with kid gloves. They're dirty, scratched and nicked up, but still produce good cuts for their intended use. When I need finish precision, I use a dedicated shop table saw and my finish work chop saw. When I'm slamming through framing lumber, I go for the circular saws.

Thankyou, i was thinking the same thing, In the trades for 28 years, dont really care about the paint job or the set screw.

It's been my experience that almost all power tools could use a little fine tuning and adjustment. Tuning these tools up is no big deal. Even an expensive table saw or miter box usually needs a little adjustment, no big deal. I'd take a very light polish on that rear shoe to bring it down to it's rest. All good my friend. Thankyou.

Thanks for your feedback. That might be the case, I just didn't have to make any adjustment with the 7 1/4" Milwaukee saw. It came out of the box new better overall.

So what did you ultimately do to the Fuel Saw? My new saw is the same way. I wouldn't try to bend the piece of steel on the rear stop. Probably adjust small area on magnesium shoe.

I got one that didn’t have the issue. Bending the steel on the rear stop worked as well. Thanks for watching!

I have a few Milwaukee power tools. They build them in different countries. China, Vietnam, Mexico. I'm not surprised they have various little issues like this. I once bought a Ridgid circular saw that looked like a quality saw, was one of their top models with a rafter hook, etc. Got it home and discovered the shoe was out of alignment from front to back with the blade as if something was twisted and no way to adjust it. I took it back. Got a Milwaukee instead and it's been good.

Thanks for your comment. It’s been a good saw. Only concern I have is with some reports of electronic switch failure but we’ll see. Thanks for watching! 👍

I have had great experiences with Milwaukee Fuel tools. I have batteries more than 8 years old with heavy commercial use. Have had some chucks replaced on cordless drills, but to be expected , especially on hammer drills. Dewalt and Makita batteries on cordless tools have let me down over the years.

The safety on my new saw is catching and not allowing me to pull the trigger. Sometimes it will work but I have to fiddle with it. Unfortunately, I bought it a couple of months ago and don't know where my receipt is or if Home Depot would allow a return now. I was expecting an exceptional saw for the price I paid. I really like my older Milwaukee tools.

Work something out with Home Depot. They may be able to pull up the receipt. Don’t get stuck with it. I’ve heard a lot if feedback on the trigger of this Saw. I’m sure Milwaukee is familiar with it.

I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great kzfaq.infoUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

The saw works great and has been very handy! The saw should not need to be bent though in order to get a square cut. I was pointing out something that is rare for me with Milwaukee tools.

I just bought the 6 1/2 and right out of the box I noticed some oil residue. Can you perhaps pinpoint what this is? Just excess factory lube or something?
@projectpinehills

Depends on how much oil. If it’s a small about, probably just factory lube. Thanks for watching.

Where can I find a rip fence for this saw home Depot doesn't carry them and I don't know a model number for the rip fence for this saw. There's so many Milwaukee saws out there and they all don't fit the same. For the price of this saw it should come with one

Bought a Milwaukee drill and saw Drill is terrible Saw was good, then suddenly died. Never had that problem with the old DeWalt and Makita tools. Batteries wore out costing more than replacing tools and tools still worked. Not happy with Makita

Home Depot do me wrong, they got the 7 1/4 for 209 with 6ah battery, they got the 6 1/2 with 5a battery for 219. I like the weight and the left sided blade of the 6 1/2 but..... the 7 1/4's battery is HIgh Output. It's cheaper, and has a better battery? Why does Home depot do this. So which would you get if you were in my situation? I am DIY'er and would like to have a saw handy. Or should I just get a ryobi? LOL.
@projectpinehills
@projectpinehills 11 ай бұрын
That's a tough question. I had more or less the same decision to make. The 7 1/4" saw is a solid saw and it's safer to use due to the blade location. I really like the 6 1/2, I've seen some people report that the switch fails on some. I hope that is not the case on mine. But if you're right handed, I'd probably go with the 6 1/2" and remember to watch where you put your left hand when using it.
