Have you considered putting up a sunshade in your front windshield? It would do a lot to keep the sun out during the hottest part of the day and it's pretty normal to see one in a parked vehicle during the day.

FireStarter I wish you the best with your business, but I kind of disagree with the idea that a person should spend a bunch of money kitting out a van before ever trying to live in one. The bottom line is that living in a vehicle will not work long term for the majority of people because it’s not super fun most of the time. I love living in a van because of the lifestyle that it allows me to live, but to say that I enjoy the actual act of living in a van more than living in a house would be disingenuous. As a large scale affordable housing solution it doesn’t really work long term either. The more people sleeping in vans the more cities will enforce bylaws preventing people from doing so. Without designated parking areas for van dwellers I can’t see how it could be a scalable affordable housing solution. Again, I wish you nothing but the best for your business, and I hope you’re able to come up with solutions to some of the issues that I see with this plan.

Your body stays cooler in long sleeves because of the sweat is permanently trapped. Sincerely, an Army Soldier who wears only long sleeves
@tionlover

xXM60E4Xx it’s a lil different than that fam. When you wear short sleeves on a hot humid day, the sweat has no where to go and does not evaporate. But if you wear long sleeves, it keeps sweat away from skin so it can dry, and it creates a small air flow between skin and fabric to keep it cool while protecting against sunburn and UV damage.

Something to help with the heat. During your night shift, freeze a few 500-1000 ml plastic pop bottles with water. Use some for your cooler, the others use like a reverse hot water bottle in winter. Just put the frozen bottle in a tube sock(clean) and place how many you want around you. During the day you have extra to change out of the cooler. Also freeze some small damp tea towels or faceclothes. 👍 parking garages, ice bottles and fan.

The air near the pavement tends to be much hotter. It's one of the reasons why trucks are so popular in Houston, the AC radiator is higher so the AC works better when the vehicle is stopped, in a sedan in Houston having the AC at full blast while parked isn't enough as the car is just too close to the hot pavement. Now, if he could park off the asphalt then there might be cooler air underneath the car.
@NoZenith
@NoZenith 4 жыл бұрын
@@johnwang9914 not the case he was parked in the shade. Even if the shade is only literally covering the van the pavement under the van is still going to be quite cool
@johnwang9914
@johnwang9914 4 жыл бұрын
@@NoZenith Most shade moves on within two to four hours so unless he's in the shade of a canyon of skyscrapers on a east west road, your logic is faulty. Besides, I was referencing my experience in Houston, I dare you to try and keep cool on asphalt in Houston with nothing more than a floor vent, even try it in a parked low sedan where the AC condensers are close to the hot pavement. Asphalt stores a lot of heat for a lot of hours. There's a reason why pickups are popular in Houston.

Get two styrofoam coolers, big one and then a small to put inside. Put a big piece of ice in the little cooler, cut holes in the big styrofoam cooler, cut a hole in the back of the freezer and place a tiny fan pointing in the cooler, cold air will blow out of the unblocked holes in the front. U can use a thick plastic bag as a way to hold water and put it in a freezer at work while u are working....then just use that ice as the ice u put in the small cooler.... very cheap and will keep you cool.

I slept in forests or fields at night, coffee shops - dump in mornings, free pool - shower every day. supper in the fj [cold food sandwiches] or resto. municipal park wi fi afterwards, 3 times a week a beer at some micro brewery. and go on like that for 2 months 1/2. I loved the heat, 4-5 rain days for the whole time. I kept my stuff managed in a modular way with bins. my pressure sprayer and plastic screens helped a lot. I could clean anything including myself, 2 liters I think. and with magnets, the screen allowed opened window at night. a dash solar panel secured me for my laptop usage, I was careful, as I did nt want to get stuck back into some distant field. the fj cruiser is manual, but it s way too heavy to push start. unless you are in a slope. the coolest thing of the experience was to wake up with a different view every morning. good show!!!

Hey brother make one of those ice air conditioners where you put an ice block in a cooler with a hole for your fan and a hole to blow cold air through. You already got your fan ..... If you have access to a fridge/freezer at work you could freeze a gallon jug during your shift and use that for the ice in the cooler fan setup. Good luck man stay cool

I haven't seen one of your videos in my recommends for a while. I saw the October 2018 and out of luck you appeared again in my recommends. It's amazing the work you have done to your vehicle, looks completely pimp man. I hope you're doing well and I wish you continued success with your build. I am going to subscribe this time, I learned my lesson from last time.

Summertime is worth it renting a parking spot with a power outlet. Here in FL it's outright dangerous to try and stay inside a car during the daytime, even in the shade. The humidity alone often at 100% will drive you insane. I had to rough it in my home during a power outage because of a hurricane and sleeping was nearly impossible.

It was 36 degrees C here last week. I could barely move - felt super lethargic the whole time. Bring back cooler days!

If you can afford it, get some ceramic tint. It blocks out a lot of the sun's heat entering the vehicle.

I like the table saw. It's older than me. No guard on the table saw. Now I have to worry about your fingers too. See something that needs changing and change it. I like that.
