This video shows you how to remove the serpentine belt (accessory belt) step-by-step on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited 3.8L. It also goes into more detail by showing you how to remove the radiator giving you access to the alternator and A/C compressor and power steering components.

Thank you for this! This is probably one of the easiest radiator replacement jobs on a vehicle I've seen. I won't miss doing these on my old VWs, especially my girlfriends new beetle.

Do you know how to replace heating coil on the 03 mistsubishi Montero limited? Water leaks in dash while ac is on and only when turning or going up hills. Now the front ac vents don’t blow anything out and the back blows out whatever the temperature is in the truck. Do you know how to replace the heating coil? Or could it be something else?

Another thanks for this video. I think it will help me replace the serpentine belt on my 2011 3.5L V6 Pajero. That is the same procedure for my 2004 Holden VY Commodore. Quick question: On your 3.8L is it just as easy removing and installing the belt without removing any other parts, or is it necessary to remove the radiator?

Edward Santoro no problem! So I only removed the radiator because I was changing the main seals and water pump. It would be difficult to do it without removing the radiator but maybe possible.. It was a tight fit

Thanks for your reply. Your video has helped me a lot. The pulley layout on my 3.5L is identical to that of your 3.8L. I used your video to draw a map to keep in the vehicle. I even noticed that there is a special recess for a ratchet head sans socket to release tension on the tensioner pulley (not much space to use a socket, which is required on my Holden). Even though everything is running beautiful at 85,000 km, I am in the process of purchasing all the parts for a complete 100,000 km preventive maintenance overhaul of the timing belt, bearings, tension adjuster, seals, water pump etc. I think I should also replace some pulleys on the drive belt train at the same time, the tensioner pulley being one. Is there any other pulley I should replace on the drive belt train, or should I just wait until these pulleys start signaling the need for replacement? While it makes sense to replace everything I can when doing a timing belt replacement, the external pulleys of the drive belt train seem to be simple enough installations that don't directly affect other mechanisms and can be replaced as needed.

Edward Santoro I would definitely just replace the critical ones if you feel necessary. But these engines are amazing and can take a serious beating! I replaced my front main seal and camshaft seals too, now I think next up I will be doing the rear main seal on mine

I hope you have changed your crank bolt to the new updated style. You have the old one in this video that was defective.
