"Ambush": to make a surprise attack from a concealed position. (Military tactic) -- Court proceedings are adversarial in nature, so there is no 'surprise', and everyone's positions are well known in advance. *Btw. Prisoners are not allowed to have long pencils or pens in their cell blocks due to a history of them being used as weapons or for illegal tattoos.
@StandardGoose
@StandardGoose 3 жыл бұрын
The word comes from the common traditional practice of disguising oneself as a bush when lying in wait for your victim.
@HappyHoboRecovery
@HappyHoboRecovery 3 жыл бұрын
@@StandardGoose close. Technically speaking: ambush comes from ambuscade, which comes from Old French, embuscade...which was borrowed from Italian + Latin : In - Bosco (forest or woods) used to describe attacks from the forest (16th cent.) Not to be confused with : camouflage 👍🦉🍸 * Edit Tip: rule of multiple adjectives -- "common"& " traditional" used as cumulative adjectives is confusing, as they are not synonyms. The "practice" (noun) of ambuscade may be "common", however , in the 16th century , battles "traditionally" took place in the open (as a matter of honor and code). Another example: It's common for Americans to have turkey on Thanksgiving, but in my family it's a tradition to serve lasagna.

Si instead of arguing his case, presenting a defense and follow procedures, he is going to harass, intimidate, obstruct and gather a group of fanatics in order to stop justice from moving forward. That in and of itself should be a severe criminal offense. he is complaining that nobody wants to "file his papers" and what not, but he does not actually seem to have a case to begin with. He starts off with tactics that are normally reserved for a last resort. "Here is a speeding ticket." "Call in the brigade! I'm a political prisoner! I only have crayons!! Help me!!!"

Well said. If they want to "challenge jurisdiction", fine. It's their right to file a motion in that regard. But these twats always want to bring up jurisdiction *during the arraignment* and it's just, lol...a debacle. I've definitely seen a few sovcits in court who seem sincerely, woefully ignorant of just how over their heads they are. These unfortunate individuals have clearly been hustled by sovict-ideology-peddlers. Which is no excuse. But still. They're just gullible marks who "fell for it". The rest of the sovcits I've seen in court (the majority) are transparently intent on disrupting the court with their antics. And nothing else. Those are the ones I hope judges throw the book at.

The way these individuals look at the law as not applying to them, they do believe they are targeted when they are forced to follow the rules and laws of the society. Essentially, they live and operate in an alternate reality and therefore, see things this way. Phone calls with the Public Defender would not be monitored by the jail staff. The attorney be able to file "writs" or other documents that are needed and justified. By definition “civil disobedience”, is breaking the law. Read Thoreau’s actual work “on civil disobedience” and accepting the consequence for breaking the law. The entire purpose is you obey just laws and break laws to draw attention to unjust laws when the democratic processes doesn’t work. What unjust law are they trying to protest specifically? MLK protested Jim Crow laws, Mandela protested apartheid laws, and Gandhi protested British political rule. Specifically what laws are they protesting? Driver’s licenses? License plates? Public conduct laws? I really would like a list of law these guys would like to see changed then we can have an actual conversation via the democratic processes.

Exactly. Those were things a person could readily relate to. Rosa Parks, that's something you can get behind. Has anyone ever suffered by not being able to shoot video in a post office? The things that they harp on are just not associated with actual rights by normal people. If I were going to go down this road, the first thing I would do is identify an injustice that actually matters. I don't get how these guys give themselves license to disregard that, which seems to be the whole point. You know, instead of being denied rights to film in a trucking yard or a courthouse lobby, something that isn't even felt by anyone.

What do these people think a notary does? I’m asking seriously, because I’ve *been* a notary, and the *only* thing I could do was attest to a signature. That’s it. My signature and seal had no magical power.

In California, a LPS Writ of Habeas Corpus is the "please let me out of the mental hospital" form. It sounds like the judge saw how David Rodriguez acted up in court (possibly on the tow truck as well) and she's concerned about his mental health. The LPS Writ is filed with the county court, which already ordered him to be held, so there's a reason why the hospital's not giving him a copy. By the way, James Joyce wrote _Ulysses_ in crayon. Crayon should be good enough for Rodriguez's "legal" filings, and the suspected mentally unstable person can't use it to harm himself or someone else.

Not only is practicing civil disobedience understanding that what you're doing (or not doing) is contrary to established laws, but also having the courage of your convictions to face the consequences. As for the psych evaluation...one wouldn't have been deemed necessary--and ordered--had David answered the "Yes or No" questions with either "Yes" or "No" answers. Instead, he gives responses which are NOT answers to the questions asked, and then doesn't take "No" (in terms of his objections and motions being soundly denied) as an answer.

If he (David) is being held for a Physic Eval, (5150 H&S) hold, it's 72 hours and no bail is moot. It's not a criminal charge.

When I was a kid, I thought that my parents were tyrants. They were "strict", forced me to call every adult "sir or ma'am", always be on my best behavior, to never bring shame on them, follow rules, take school seriously... Back then I hated it. Although I wasn't an angel, generally speaking the fear of getting in trouble with them got me straight (most of the time). Today, a couple of graduate degrees later, earning 6 figures, having a great personal and professional life I realize how lucky I was to have my parents. These morons clearly didn't have that. They have no to little education, no skills and have made it a job to go around do stupid things and beg the (dumb) pubic for money instead of getting a job. How deplorable".

There's a neat concept called "learnt epistemic helplessness." It boils down to this: No matter how convincing the argumentation seems to you, especially in the field you're not an expert in, if the speaker looks like a crazy person, you better assume that he is and ignore him. The Beard looks like a serial killer. Mike looks like a lawyer. Be smart, listen to Mike.

I think SovCits also believe a notary also files and enters any notarized paperwork "on the record." The whole notice to servant is notice to agent nonesnse. So not only does getting an affidavit notarized establish da troof, it also means that the judge, officer, senator, whoever is required to aware of da troof and bound to consent/agree with it. Especially when presented with it at a traffic stop or hearing.
