MKZ B1088 the HARD WAY

ONCE AGAIN! The basics save the day! This B1088 was caused by a power missing to the drivers door switch, which is on the LIN Bus that goes to the Drivers Door Module (DDM)

If you right click on the chrome alldata tab and hit D it will duplicate the page and you can skip a few clicks. I only mention that because I think I gave you some vehicle entry tips and you liked them.

Looks like the LIN B bus is for the door windows and locks and the driver's door module is the gateway module to the high speed MS CAN bus. With failure mode 87 of missing message would indicate the driver's door module failed to receive a expected message and failure mode 83 would indicate a message received with an error value or out of range value.

Wouldn't be surprised if a failure mode 83 would set along with any circuit fault related to anything on the LIN B buss.

Brian I guess I’m a glutton for punishment and I know you said in our group meeting don’t watch it but if you post it I’m watching it. I will do the Arduino project and I have different scopes and I just want to compare results on the different scopes. If all works out I’ll send photos. I’m also involve with Dr.Duino courses. Im trying to get a mini weather station project up and running using the ESP 32 microprocessor. I just keep digging and getting bogged down but love it. I asked the question about updating the computers because I’ve worked on very sophisticated aircraft and you get to the point in updating when it’s not profitable to continue. It’s cheaper to just design a cheaper aircraft and install the new systems which eliminates a lot of down time and expense even if the new aircraft is less maneuverable then the one your replacing. A good example is they got rid of the F-14 in favor of the F-18 which aerodynamicly and fuel and ordinance capacity could not compete with the F-14. Had the same thing on a 2016 escape titanium. Used car lot of course had 2 doors replaced. The replacement doors had harnesses for non door modules. It grounded the Lin bus out not a single door window worked

wow thats crazy. I had a replacement door on a Cadillac that many of the terminals did not have mates on the opposite sides of the connectors.

Test Lights are very handy. Windows generally have a circuit breaker to prevent the Main Power Fuse from Blowing. Did You figure out where it Shorted Out at with all the components in that Circuit?

Once I found a power was missing the shop took over the diagnostic
