i've been struggling with a moisture bump on my second lobe for a while, this is super helpful and now i need to find my old hairdryer

I have short hair and I got an irritation bump on my second lobe. I think it was being overzealous with cleaning and not drying properly after, I've since realized that my piercings do best with not more than two cleanings per day while healing. It felt similar to a pimple, so I tried putting a hydrocolloid pimple patch on it and it worked!

I always put my hair in a ponytail for quite a while after a new piercing. I dry the piercing using a terry cloth towel after my hair goes up. I don't blow dry my hair. I admit I have had a tough time drying my rook piercings.

While I haven't dealt with a moisture bump, I do notice that a lot of moisture builds under and around my stacked septum. Is this due to low quality jewelry? Or is it just a part of stacked septum life?

I had these show up on my right second lobe so much and i didn't notice until they would burst open on their own😭 butterfly backs didn't help either 😩 didn't go back to that piercer

Different topic, but do you have any advice for getting rid of built up sebum? I have two helix piercings that have some built up, but not really enough room to fit a qtip under. They’re about a year and a half old, and I’m concerned they’re not getting enough air flow. Showering doesn’t do it 😭

You could probably wet a toothpick in saline solution and very gently and carefully scrape the sebum off with that.

In addition to a tooth pick, one other idea is a good stainless steel needle nose tweezer dipped in alcohol. Your piercer might be able to help as well.
