It's a little weird to think I've built such a successful piercing persona online that the little weird 18 year old who was super excited for corset piercings and play piercings and suspensions out in the woods is long forgotten, and people think I don't have any heavy modifications or have never done anything unsafe with my piercings. I want to shart sharing a little more of the side of myself that's weird and wild and wonderful with all of you.

I’m also in the “horns would be freaking cool” camp. My never-been-pierced wife supports my mod dreams but every piercer I’ve met is like “horns???”. I never knew so many people would draw the line there. Let me get my freak on 😅

I'd also say people tend to underestimate how much you want a modification if it's not palatable to them. All my goth friends understand that I want fangs and pointed ears, but always forget I like ribbed thumbs and sclera tattoos just as much.

I would love to see a video about the phenomenon of piercers being seen as “too scary” for their heavy body mods. Long lives the freaks!!!

Lynn, I am in my mid 30s, and my story is so similar to yours. I still to this day can't remember how I found BME as a little 14 year old, but I did. I'm still working toward those heavier mods.

as a person who is the weird heavily modified trans one at the marina (i live on a sailboat and make boat canopies) yet i spend a week of each month suspending people, and performing quite intense stage shows, and travel to suscons... where i am the notably normal looking one because work.... i really relate.. i was 18 in 1995 so as someone who found mods in the ancient and indigenous world really amazing... japanese tattoo art wowed young me... and the plains tribes suspensions was both terrifying yet i wondered what it was like to experience.. the early internet showed me i was not alone.... bme... etc.. now it is possble, do i dare?!.. i did. young me would fangirl so much. i just wish i could afford to travel more and get ear points and more good stuff... this summer i will be getting to do suspension and body play in the woods with my friends, as i do each summer. I feel this is living the dream and we are so lucky to get to experience these things. as a friend says, get weird, stay weird.

As someone who grew up obsessed with BMEzine, got my nipples pierced as soon as I finished college, and … then kept my freakiness private until I came out as trans much later, I appreciate this video ❤

man, i’d love to see a video of you talking about your mixed emotions on heavily modded folks being looked down upon in the industry! its so sad that’s an issue!! i’m almost 20 & always dreamed of being super pierced but now i’m pursuing a criminal justice career soooo😬 that dream has also been crushed for me sadly :( hopefully i’ll get a septum sometime soon tho lol

I honestly just feel more at ease with heavily modded people when getting pierced, etc 😅

What first got me into Body Modifications were Suicide Girl Models, Gods Girls, and Lithium Picnic and following them on MySpace. I don't know how I stumble across BMEzine but that link was my go to when it came to looking at piercings and tattoo images. I actually wish there was more people like you around where I live because I don't see too many black women with certain mods than just the everyday usual. Now with tattoos there is a large amount of black women stacked with them. Maybe I need to relocate.

I’ve always wanted blacked out sclera’s, but knowing the dangers and all I won’t ever get them sadly 😭 I do plan on getting my tongue split and scarification in the future 🥰 Also, would you ever do a video talking about blood play? I would love to hear your thoughts about it (I’m very interested in doing it as well as needle/piercing play ✨)

It’s a limited edition shirt from IS from conference many years ago. Idk if you’ll find it online- maybe if another piercer has it for sale

You are So Cool! I first started following you because I was trying to learn more about body nodding correctly, and I found you and you have a link to an in depth article about what happens in your body when you gauge your ear. I found your KZfaq and I watch all your videos and I was immediately like “oh yes, this person will be doing all of my future piercings” You are so cool and you are really good at making people feel confident to experiment with their bodies and I love it. stay freaky 🫶🏻
