Property prices. Are they finally bringing the money-laundering laws they promised 17 years ago? Or will lawyers, accountants and property developers lobby them out of it?

"The poor get the Picture" but neither understand it nor have the guts nor initiative to take any kind of action on it. They consistently vote against their own best interests, leaving inner city educated 'elites' to do the work for them while they revel in sporting spectacles, irrelevant pop diva concerts, home restorations and "reality" shows on TV. Complaining all the while about the ineffectiveness of Green politics. Hypocrisy resonates loudly in the empty heads of the 'working poor'.

Yes, well put, Australia is a white collar criminal paradise. It’s just sickening. Dreyfus has been all over the media saying that it would be part of the new upcoming Budget! If they do introduce them I guess that we will have to rely on the independents, yet again, to erase the loopholes? The next parliament will have a lot more independents, I hope.

I find it how neo-liberalism says that we don't need the government to solve social issues, that business will solve them for us. The government once supplied affordable housing to its citizens that were disadvantaged and it was an acceptable Christian means to help those who were less fortunate enough. This was society helping others. But somewhere in history anyone who was unfortunate was made an outcast. Someone who could be blamed for bleeding of the system. Somewhere in history the majority forgot about empathy and greed took over. Instead of communities saying; "What can I do for my community?"; people started say; ""What can I get out of my community?", or "How can I get rich and screw you all because I've got a lot of money losers!" Then along came neo-liberalism that promised it could do better than what the government could do for its people. They said that they could make power prices cheaper, hospitals more affordable, education better, telecommunications more efficient, housing would be attainable and so on and so forth. Business does none of this. If anything, business has made society reach a point where no one can no longer afford the basics. I see that people have started to retaliate against the government by voting for more independents. A hung parliament is a true democracy. Now people are demanding that the government start restoring society, and remove the idealology that greed is good.

I was told a long time ago by a state level politician that our government set-up was never intended for a party system, it was suppose to be all independents that represent there area. I've been around the world and I don't think it matters what rules , what system, or what isms is used, eventually a small group of people find the grey areas, subvert the original concept, just cheat, steal, deceive, manipulate etc the system and society to ruin. I think most people aren't suitable to be leaders, managers or responsible for others and unfortunately the ones that do step up tend to be the dark triad sort. I don't think most people are able to comprehend or processes and the complexity of governance in Australia ( which I know is by design to benefit the few - thanks lobbyists, think tanks and big business and billionaires) . Everytime I explain what's going on behind the curtain in my area of experience most don't get it or comprehend really how messed up it is. I hope it doesn't collapse till after my children can leave if they need to.
