Seen all the Resident Evil movies, but i only liked the first two, Resident Evil (2002) and Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) was ok, but that's it, and the rest is just cannon fodder. I also love the movie Mortal Kombat (1995), saw it when i was a teenager, and also have it on DVD. Never played Monster Hunter, and i will see the movie when it comes out.

As a fan who loves The Monster Hunter video game series. It’s the same with resident evil, I think the director fundamentally misunderstood what the series are. They turned resident evil into an action franchise. Resident evil isn’t an action game at all. And Monster Hunter is not a monster movie game, it’s an adventure game where the monsters are the stars. Plus they call one of the monsters by the wrong name and that really pissed me off

For the longest time i thought it was a prequel to Warhammer because the realm they open is similar to the Immaterium where the Chaos Gods and Daemons live and the ships fate reminds me of what happens when a space ship enters the Warp without the Gellar Field.

They made Nerscylla who doesn't secrete venom (but gets it from Gypceros) a major plot device and apparently it's a vampire now. A regular Diablos is as aggressive as a Black Diablos, willingly breaks it's own horn off, and it's pretty much a carnivore here. Also let's not forget they fought a Rathalos with fire. A fire wyvern that's immune to fire gets damaged by fire.

Which I think is rather intentional in our education system which focuses on memorizing events and then in typical revisionism assigns a Good and Bad side to the conflict. Rather than including a holistic view of the motivations and political pressures of the time. Because if they did take a look at why things happen they might question some of the things going on in politics today. A great example of this is WW2 and the question of how such a brutal regime could arise. The thing that is often skipped over in history classes, and I didn't find out until later in life is some of the underlying causes. See after losing the First WW the rest of Europe put extremely harsh economic sanctions on German which kept most of their people in poverty. So when a charismatic leader comes along and Nationalize a bunch of industries giving tons of people jobs of course the people support him. However due to German not having any natural resources and still under economic pressures the only way to prevent the economy from stalling out was to seize those resources for themselves and thus ensure their independence from being beholdant to other nations holding their chains. Meaning war felt to many as their best and only choice. This out come is why I've always seen economic sanctions as a terrible political tool as it often mainly hurts the people and instead of seeing their leaders as the bad guys they see the rest of the world as being against them only reinforcing the dependence on those in charge. It's like firing someone who you think is mistreating their spouse/kids. Thinking yeah they are going to just leave their abuser after there is less money coming into the house rather than the actual outcome of the abuser being present even more so and thus increasing the frequency. But most people don't really think about collateral damage when they do things, just about sticking it to whoever they think should be punished. A great example is cancel culture who get made at someone like Rosanne and then canceling her show. Never mind all the other actors, cast, and crew that were employed by that show who lost their jobs all because a few people had hurt feels over what one person said. And that's just one of tons of examples in our modern cultural. I mean whatever happen to the days of shock jocks like Howard Stern? Being controversial was great for businesses as all the attention raised awareness which only increased the ratings and popularity. But now companies treat it as bad for business when really following all the cancelers is bad for business since the majority of them don't even watch the show or maybe they do just to be offended. Take Howard Stern for example when asked in surveys they found that people who claim to hate him listened for longer because they wanted to find out what offensive thing he would say next. Another words they were supporting him more than his actually fans as they were actively looking for something to complain about.

Except the joke isn't a Chinese joke. It originated in English speaking countries and has been used on playgrounds for literally decades to taunt and tease Asian children. It's usually accompanied by hand gestures making fun of their eye folds and smaller chest size on girls

As a fellow fan, the whole parallel world's thing is actually in the games. Look at MH World, Geralt from The Witcher shows up through a portal. He even has his own quest where you play as him and the game suddenly turns into a Witcher 3 DLC. He even gets to bond with The Handler and they talk about the playable character (coolest part of the story). I think any criticism towards the story is a little unnecessary, I don't think many fans really care. They just want monsters and 1v1, Ripley vs Alien Queen style throwdowns. At least that's me lol
